Darling, this may be mushy feelings talking but
I want to do mundane things with you. Like brushing our teeth in the mirror. Buying groceries for dinner. Falling into bed exhausted after a long day. Asking you for the millionth time to pick up your socks. Having coffee with you first thing in the morning. Watching you wash dishes. Mostly because I know that with you these wouldn't be mundane things. We would try to talk to each other even though our mouths were overflowing with toothpaste froth. We'd invent some sort of game in the grocery store that was the perfect blend of adorable and obnoxious and I'd kiss you in every single aisle. Even though we're exhausted from whatever we did throughout the day (living our dreams probably), we're together. And we hold each other all through the night. I ask you to pick up your socks, and because it literally is the millionth time, I get mad and throw them at you and storm out of the room. And you just laugh, and get up, and follow me into the laundry room where I'm angrily clanging things about. And you sneak up behind me and slip your hands around my waist, and just hold me for a minute. And my flash of anger bubbles away and I turn to you and apologize for screaming, and tell you what's REALLY bothering me, and you say you already knew. And when we have coffee in the morning, we won't. We're not exactly morning people which is why our cabinets are wrought with thermoses and plastic coffee cups with plastic lids. We are probably, at that moment, running out the door with coffee in hand and indulging in one last kiss before we go to our separate cars and waving at each other from across the driveway. And when I watch you wash dishes, I bet that I'm not just watching you wash dishes. I bet that it's late at night and you've watched me fall asleep (again) during the movie we've been wanting to watch for weeks, and you decide that you'll let me sleep, because I have had an exhausting couple of days and that you want to do something nice for me. And when I wake up from my tiny nap on the couch, and come into the kitchen to get a drink, there you are. I don't say anything, I just decide to watch for a while. You're really something.
