hii guys tis I, April, presenting the ambitious, pureblood version of a social activist teen Ava Parkinson. she has opinions and goals but she also likes to have fun and is convinced everything will work out in the end; feel free to hit me up if you want to plot or have any ideas!! am open to everything seriously
it's been five years since the pureblood witch , ava parkinson was sorted into slytherin upon arriving at hogwarts . i suppose over the years we've learnt that she is optimistic , spirited , entitled & dismissive , i guess that's why they were sorted where they were . ( maia mitchell )
• Parkinson. One of the purest of the pureblood families. Growing up, Ava wanted for nearly nothing, her head crammed full of ideas of her superiority over half-bloods and mudbloods.
• She idolised Nora. Everything her sister had, she wanted too - everything her sister did, she put all of her effort into mimicking. Not only did she love her sister, but she craved the approval and attention of the adults who seem to otherwise dismiss her.
• From the beginning Ava was louder and less patient than her older sister. She has always been stubbornly true to herself, and it took far more creative manipulations for her parents to convince her to do as she was told. Homemaking held very little interest for Ava; she followed along because Nora liked it and Nora was brilliant, but she much preferred slowly reading through the hard-backed books in her father's study, trailing after him and asking him dozens of questions about the Wizengamot.
• ("A good wife is knowledgeable in anything that can help her husband," her father said when her mother discovered her skipping her sewing lessons to read about law and history, "there will be plenty of time for her to catch up on the other things later.)
• Her father indulged her curiosity, often getting carried away giving grandiose lectures about the history and importance of magical Britain and the importance and responsibility of being a pureblood. Ava absorbed it greedily, the speeches oil on the fire of her ambition. She would grow up, and she would be powerful. Maybe she would even get to be the Minister for Magic. Nothing would interfere with her plans.
• And then Nora went away to Hogwarts, and she got sorted into Hufflepuff. Ada didn't think she would ever forget that dinner for as long as she lived. It was a turning point in her parents' attitude towards her; no longer was she allowed to waste afternoons reading or napping at her own leisure. Everything her parents had tried to mould Nora into was suddenly what they wanted for Ava; they were determined not to let their second daughter follow in the same disgraceful footsteps as the first.
• The pressure and the loneliness were suffocating. She still had her other sibling but they were young so it just wasn't the same without Nora. But Ava refused to fold beneath the pressure, she knew she could do anything she put her mind to. She was a Parkinson, a pureblood, and she had higher goals than Nora. She would achieve her goals; and make her family proud along the way.
• She did resent Nora in the beginning. It was all her fault - her fault for leaving Ava behind, for changing everything from happy to stressful. But seeing her sister back that first Christmas, ignored and slighted by their parents evaporated those feelings. She still loved her sister and hated to see her sad, so she did her best to include her as much as possible. (Even if deep, deep down, Ava felt that now she was better than her sister).
• Hogwarts brought a change of culture (now she was keeping up appearances with teenagers everyday, not adults) and more freedom (it was easy to get away with reading whatever she liked). It gave her the space she needed to flourish, to explore her interests and discover her weaknesses.
Some wanted connections:
• Politic buddies -- Ava's love for politics drew her to those with similar interests and goals. They discuss ideology and the latest going ons in the wizengamot and theorise about the future state of the world
• Best friends -- Despite her grand ambitions, Ava is a friendly person, and she inevitably has her own set of ride-or-dies.
• Romance -- It can be wholesome. It can be messy. It can be unhealthy. I'm down for basically anything so slide on in to my dms and let me know what evil plans you have for Ava.
• Enemies -- Ava doesn't go out of her way to bully those she considers lesser, but her entitled attitude can be irritating.
• Anything you can think of - give me the drama I am here for it!!!
