I'm allergic to the majority of laundry detergents, so the last time I slept in a hotel (while also having to pack light) I had to sleep on top of a towel, using a scarf and a jacket as blankets, and a dress tied around my pillow. This is fucking brilliant.

Because it clearly means that if some real comic book fan – some boy, somewhere – doesn’t get a boner every time he sees a female in a panel, the world will end. Like something out of The Twilight Zone. Clearly. Because… what other excuse could there be? Why else would you have to go and eff with one of the only female (not to mention WoC) characters in the whole DC universe who isn’t 38-24-32?
ALSO, if you are going to cast an actress in the role who is under 200 lbs, at least make it the obvious choice – S. Epatha Effing Merkerson. Duh.

Step 1: Comment on a woman’s attractiveness on every single occasion in every single venue no matter how irrelevant it is. Build up a dating culture entirely dependent on a female’s beauty. Teach children that only attractive women will ever get anywhere in life, will ever be praised, will ever find love and have a family, will ever have a chance at happiness, are worth knowing, are worth being.
Step 2: Mock women for caring about how they look. Call them shallow.

Rockefeller University, 1959: A study is conducted that shows that it is nearly impossible for someone to permanently lose weight. (Using metabolic measurements it's found that if someone who is fat loses weight, they may look like someone who was never fat on the outside, but their metabolism is the same as a person who is starving.)
University of Vermont, 1960s: A study is conducted that shows it is nearly impossible to make a thin person fat. (Volunteer inmates in a prison are fed up to 10,000 calories a day, and while they gained weight in the beginning, their metabolisms then increased by about 50%.)
University of Pennsylvania, 1980s: A study is conducted showing that biology has a much larger influence on weight than the environment you're raised in. (Information is used from 540 people who had been adopted before the age of 1, and were an average of 40 years old at the time of the study. There was a clear relationship between the weight of adopted children and their biological parents, and none between the weight of adopted children and their adoptive parents).
Studies today agree with the findings of the study from 1959 - long-term weight loss is nearly impossible. We've known this for *50 fucking years*, but society still insists that anyone who wants to, can lose weight and keep it off. We'll believe a thin person who says "Oh, I just can't gain any weight!", but not a fat person who says they can't lose, no matter what they try. And we'll say that what makes a fat person fat is what they eat and how they're raised, despite knowing that it has a huge part to do with their genetics. Why is this still a thing?
