This is disgusting. Women deemed unattractive by current conventional standards are ignored or misdiagnosed when they report their symptoms.
Marilyn Monroe leaving Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, after undergoing surgery to try and correct her endometriosis, in 1959. Marilyn suffered a life-long battle of stomach ailments. As a teenager, she suffered severe menstrual cramps [which I so relate to, it’s unbearable], she then went on to be diagnosed with suffering from endometriosis. During the 50s and 60s, there were no cures or treatments for it. She underwent various surgeries to try and have it corrected, sadly they failed. Marilyn became pregnant in 1956, 1957, and 1958, but - due to her endometriosis - every pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. Endometriosis not only caused Marilyn to suffer from infertility, but it caused her to think she had an evil inside of her, or she was just so unlovable she couldn’t carry a child to full term. She attempted suicide after her miscarriages and was found by husband, Arthur Miller. Thankfully, she was saved. In 1952, she underwent surgery to have her appendix removed (after suffering for a couple of months with the pains) and in 1961, she had gallbladder surgery.
You are missed and remembered. RIP
