In other news, I wrote a scene where a man kills someone with a nacho chip.
It makes perfect sense in context.
I refuse to explain.

Many stories in The Time-travelling Caveman – written by Pratchett when he was a journalist in the 60s and 70s – have never been published in a book

I still exist. I may not post, and I may not be writing, but I’m still here.
I also have a new owner.
Meet The Lord High Executioner, Koko.
So on top of losing my cat in June, I’m losing my job because they want all the accountants in the same office in St. Louis.
I thought 2019 was supposed to be better.

Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition [9/∞]
The child looked at me, her blue eyes stormy with tears. Kelly had said she’d been the sole witness. She knew who had come into her house and killed her father. But she wouldn’t speak. The only thing she’d offered the police had been the tears that tracked down her cheeks even now.
So I sat there next to her, a tiny little flame dancing along my fingers, flickering around like a firefly. Something to look at that wasn’t the cooling body of her father being bagged like last night’s dinner. The flame was something different. Something... secret.
“You know,” I said conversationally, letting the flame walk along my palm. “sometimes painful memories can be very heavy.” The little flame flattened against my hand as if being weighed down by a terrible weight. “But the thing about heavy stuff?” I leaned over against her, and whispered in her ear. “When two people carry something heavy, it becomes much lighter.”
The flame in my hand wobbled against my skin, dangerously close. I could feel both the heat threatening to burn me and the weight of her memories that I needed. I moved away from her, just enough to draw my personal warmth away, and like a moth to the flame in my hand, she followed me.
The words she whispered in my ear told me what I needed to know. Told me who had come to kill her father. When she was finished whispering, I let my magic douse the flame, then drew her into my lap and let her cry.

Yeah, no idea. It came into my head while I was making dinner. Ceviche, if you must know... with hatch chilies instead of jalapeño ‘cause I like the flavor better.
“Feminism killed chivalry” like…no it didn’t? If anything, feminism encourages chivalry.
Out in public with the guys and one of your friends makes a sexist comment about a female friend/stranger? Rise to her defense. She’s a human being and she doesn’t exist for you. She exists only for herself. You won’t tolerate this kind of talk.
At a bar or club, and you see a man slip something in to a drink/relentlessly pursuing a woman despite her many protests? Tell him to knock it the hell off. Get her out of this situation safely. He’s an enemy of women, which means he’s an enemy of yours if this code of chivalry means so much to you.
If you insist on being a warrior for women, then be a warrior for women. Listen to the things that we say and need and ask for.
If your version of chivalry doesn’t involve treating a woman with respect and protecting her from blackguards, then thou art a knave.

God: I am going to create an angel to guard the gate.
Angel (Uriel probably): You’ve fucked up a perfectly good principality is what you’ve done. Look at it, it’s got anxiety.
God: shh. Now watch me introduce him to this fallen angel who I just had tempt the humans out of the garden.
Probably Uriel: …oh right. I can see it I guess. …hey, didn’t he have a flaming sword?
God: …that’s a good point-oh. The humans have it. This is hilarious. I’m going to go see if he can handle being questioned.
Probably Uriel: …I’ll get the popcorn.
Stuff kids on tumblr better relearn
1. You are responsible for your own media experience.
2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.
3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.
4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves - you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine - but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.
5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.
To every reader of any comic or story I ever make. And honestly, for every consumer of media in a fandom space. I closed my ask box years ago because of folks breaking these common-sense approaches.
And this isn’t just for “kids”–no. This applies to people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s who are seeking power *somewhere* in their lives and decide to grab for it through the detached anonymity of Internet fandom communities.
