Edythe didn’t have to go through her kids’ projects the way a normal teacher did since she didn’t technically grade them but she did enjoy looking through all their artwork. That was precisely what she was doing at the coffee shop when she got to one of the pictures that was definitely a lot more creative than the rest were. Ever since her kids learned to draw stick figures that was what most of them wound up doing but not this one. “What do you think this is?” She asked the person sitting in front of her. “Don’t worry, this isn’t one of those weird psychology tests.”
There was something about the soft hums of a coffee shop that flooded Ava’s mind with text for upcoming routines. She typed away incessantly on her Macbook until the inevitable distraction of the venue took her away from her work. She narrowed her eyes on the art presented to her, a small smile drawing on her lips. “Wait, I know this. It reminds me of something but I can’t think of the word...” she pondered for another moment. “It’s almost like a hybrid animal, right? You can kind of see some horse but also a little bit of rabbit...maybe?” Ava laughed at herself, “I’m very impressed but also maybe looking into it a little too much. Definitely a rabbit. Did you draw this?”
