And that’s another scene down! A shorter one, but so exciting to finally get started on Book 3 after all this time.

Next scenes up will be two more scenes from Ozai, in which Aang has a conversation with Azula, and goes to see Katara. Probably will be a longer gap than usual (been a major year for getting critical higher intensity work done on scenes further out and other projects, so the easier work of finishing scenes has been getting pushed back), but my working plan will be to release both of these two scenes either at the same time, or close together. Wish me luck!

. As promised, the Book 3 cover! Hard to believe we are here at last.

Fun fact, sketched this while new DR chapters were still coming out, around the middle of Book 3. (Just as well, because this probably would have ended up featuring even more characters otherwise)

The first scene for Book 3 is a bit of a shorter one, will be hoping to release sometime in May, we'll see!

And that’s it for this one! More of a bonus scene this time, I storyboarded this one back in 2019 on a bit of whim after rereading Distorted Reality, and it’s great to have finished it at last. It was great to get a chance to draw the characters as their canon selves.

Next up now is Book 3! My hope is to be able to announce the opening scene from Book 3’s Chapter 1 Ozai within the next couple of months, we’ll see. Planning to post the art for the Book 3 cover toward the end of the week, so keep an eye out!

Sharing this just ahead of the next comic, another hybrid animal from Distorted Reality! The snowy poisonous wolverine-skunk, from Book 3.

They are venomous and poisonous both, and aggressive hunters, you probably don't want to meet one in a dark canyon. (Fittingly the Wolverine-Skunk Clan are among the least nice clans, which might explain why I like them so much lol)

The Chase [Scene 0], Coming 2/23/26

Hey all, it's been a while but we’re finally back again!

The next and final scene of Book 2 will be releasing 2/23/26. This one’s a more minor and experimental scene (first storyboarded in what I would call an 'off season' in terms of storyboarding), but I really wanted to do at least one scene that takes place predominantly in the canon world, and always enjoy getting the chance to change things up a little.

After this, we’ll almost be ready to start getting into the first scenes of Book 3. Wish me luck!

Crab-spider! Redraw of a design from a while ago, was working on this a while back and thought it might be the right season to finally share it 🦇

My headcanon for crab-spiders has tended to be that there's many different varieties, from itty-bitty ones that live in holes on the beach to giant monsters with stabbing stingers that spray deadly poison and strike fear into the hearts of hardened warriors (In the original design, I used more of a wolf-spider look for the body shape, whereas here I went more black widow, which in retrospect seems closer to the kind Hama's clan would take its name after lol) But in any case, late happy halloween everyone!

. And that’s another scene down! I really wanted to get these final two scenes of Book 2 out at the regular six month mark, so it’s great to have made it.

Next scene will be a kind of bonus going back to an earlier Book 2 chapter, another scene from The Chase, in which Aang dreams of a memory facing down the Fire Lord in his own world. After that we’ll be getting into Book 3. So hard to believe we're here already.

There’s likely to be a much larger gap than usual getting this one out, it’s more pages than the average scene and still only in mid-production, plus going to need some more time working on the opening scenes for Book 3. (It’s been a major year for getting more important/critical future creative work done, which is great for the overall longer term health of various projects. However, that does mean the more mechanical and tedious work of finishing getting pushed back some.)

The Crossroad Between Worlds, Part 1 [Scene 2], Coming 5/19/25

Hey there all, we're back once again! The last adapted scene of Book 2, Chapter 20: The Crossroad Between Worlds Part 1, will be planned for release 5/19/25.

This will be the final (chronological) scene of Book 2, also storyboarded back in 2020. (It's hard to believe that those 'new' storyboards are now as old as the original storyboards were back then. We're close to reaching a new era on this project and it's been exciting both looking at how far we've come, but also how much left there is to look forward to. As always, wish me luck!)

The Crossroad Between Worlds, Part 1 [1], Coming 11/4/24

And, we're back once again! The first of two scenes from Book 2’s Chapter 20: The Crossroad Between Worlds, Part 1, will be releasing 11/4/24.

This was a bit of an odd scene, in that it was storyboarded after the storyboarding for the next scene, and wasn't initially planned. But glad to get a chance to linger in The Crossroad chapters a little longer, some of my favorites from the entire story. Wish me luck as we get closer to Book 3!
