A curious illness: Yuri has been afflicted by a mysterious illness since his birth. He was expecting to die young, and yet somehow he’s still alive. If pressed he will admit the illness was treated though he refuses to disclose how.

Garlean upbringing: Yuri grew up in Garlemald, and he didn’t have a lot of friends. He would definitely remember someone who was friendly towards him during that time.

History buff: while he was in Garlemald he studied history and law. He particularly enjoys Eorzean history, myths and legends. If you need some notes, or would like to share your findings, he would be glad to lend a hand.

What I’m looking for –––

Looking to get a “foot in the door” on Crystal since I never roleplayed there and I don’t know anyone yet. IC contacts but I wouldn’t mind doing content as well.

Longer or more complicated plots with the right amount of focus on everyone involved would be excellent.

I enjoy slice of life, though I am kinda burnt out on that.

RP in game and on Discord. My main character is on Light DC - Lich, although I’m planning on getting a fantasia and a name change for my alt on Balmung. I’d rather RP in game than on discord, but I understand the need since I don’t have a character right now.

I’m not super experienced as a roleplayer, however I always try to give my best when writing and leave it open ended/with something for you to latch onto. I’m not excessively descriptive though I’m trying to get better at writing.

I am lore compliant and while I can tolerate a little bending, I don’t enjoy lore breaking. No WoLs/characters from other worlds.

I can do darker themes no problem, with ample discussion beforehand. Communication is key. OOC is not IC, if my character is angry at yours it doesn’t mean I am too. No ERP, even if it fits the plot/situation. I would prefer to RP with people who are 18+ in and out of character.

English isn’t my first language.

I miss the atmosphere of the Black Shroud in 1.X - in spite of the obvious downsides of the repetitiveness of its labyrinthine corridors, they did a great job of making it feels like a dense, ancient forest, where a single wrong turn could have you dangerously lost. It matches well with the opening Gridania questline and the conjurer quests, too, making the whole thing feel very much as though you had stumbled upon a strange hidden settlement in the forest, where you weren’t really supposed to be. It’s a lot more sinister than it is in ARR.

Still, many Viera continue their adherence to a strict code that has governed their people since ere the age of Ivalice - none may enter their jungle, and none may leave. To the Viera, Golmore is sacred ground, and they will not suffer what they view as the desecration of their sovereign domain by outsiders. This is especially true for those who would dare hunt their lands.”

Jenomis cen Lexentale: “The Viera have ever been wary of outsiders. For centuries their many tribes have remained hidden in the jungles, content with their self-imposed solitude. Each tribe has its own strict code and will mete swift punishment to any who would defy these laws. As such, many a Viera will spend her entire life bound to the territory of her ancestors, both unwilling and unable to venture beyond its borders. And while the tribes are wholly independent, they have agreed to uphold a single standard: shun all contact with the outside world unless it is to protect the jungle. Hello, I guess I’m doing one of those “reblog if you post FFXIV stuff so I can follow you” posts.
