Additional Information: I’m very new to tumblr/blog RP - most of my RP experience lies in real-time events, either in chat or in games, but I’m looking forward to experiencing new RP mediums.  My schedule is pretty flexible - I am available most evenings, save Wednesdays.  I don’t really have any serious triggers or necessary tags.

Miscellaneous Info: Vikata is descended from an unusual lineage, the majority of which is composed of sapient Solifugae morph and Ghul, with a generous portion of sapient sandworm. Â Most often, he carries himself in a shambling slouch, making himself appear smaller than he is. Â Usually swathed in tattered cloths, he is a lurker in shadows, though a surprisingly affable one.
His survivalist past has earned him a number of scars, many of which are visible on his face and around his alarmingly large maw.
Personality: Resilient, tenacious, and resourceful are all words that can be used to describe Vikata.  Horrifying, filthy, and voracious are a few other choice words which have been used.  “Rough around the edges” is one of the more polite ways of putting it.  Despite his somewhat monstrous appearance, unrefined social skills, and highly dubious hygiene, Vikata is an amiable sort.  Sincere and emotionally sensitive, he is curious and overall quite interested in new interactions and experiences.
While usually even-tempered and relatively slow to anger, Vikata is quite capable of becoming unpredictable, vicious, and downright gruesome when pushed too far.
Something of a pack rat, Vikata actively hoards trash, food, and carrion, stashing his finds in burrows, crypts, and holes throughout his territory.
His appetite is endless, and his drive to eat borders on compulsion.
Vikata avoids bright sunlight and is for the most part nocturnal, staying covered and cloaked when going about in daylight.
Plagued by an intense fear of water, Vikata scrupulously avoids getting wet, and stays well away from any body of water larger than a small puddle or drinking glass.
 General History: Vikata was hatched in a burrow in the deep desert, to parents of Ghul, Sandworm, and Solifugae morph lineage.  His mother stuck around long enough to see her eggs hatch, before abandoning her young to their fate.
While Vikata spent the nymphal stages of his youth in the nursery burrow with his handful of siblings, he was quite young when he struck out on his own.
He lived a solitary and nomadic life in the deep desert for many years, burrowing and sleeping beneath the sands during the day, and emerging at night to travel and scavenge, surviving off of carrion and anything else he could find.
Vikata acquired most of his social skills through his very early life with his siblings, and from the occasional encounter with caravans and desert travellers.
It was through one such encounter with a group of travelling merchants that he heard of the city of Aventurine. Â Curiosity and a desire for more contact with other sapients would eventually draw him to the city.
A relative newcomer to the city, he has taken up residence in a crypt in one of Aventurine’s graveyards (after “evicting” the previous residents), and has begun scraping together a meager living collecting and disposing of garbage and other unwanted things for a fee.
Current Occupation: Trash collection and disposal for hire, aka trash mercenary
Magical Abilities: Vikata's magical affinity gifts him with the ability to consume nearly anything without ill effect, with the added bonus of being able to swallow objects larger than his head. Â His abilities are currently instinctive and limited to making him the living equivalent of a bottomless pit.
Skills: Deep desert survival skills, scavenging, very basic clothing repair and alteration. Â Pretty good at kludging, if anyone can be pretty good at that.
Physical Abilities: Vikata possesses a high endurance for long distance travel, as well as being capable of high speeds over short distances. Â He is extremely resilient, and is resistant to most common toxins. Â His jaws are exceedingly strong, as is his bite, giving him the ability to chomp through nearly anything, including most metals and other inorganic materials. Â He is also capable of fully digesting most materials. Â Vikata possesses a number of functional supernumerary limbs and hands, and can regenerate lost limbs, given time, as with many arthropods.
 Strengths: Tough, resilient, and resourceful, with a high tolerance for pain.
Weaknesses: Not very physically strong (aside from bite strength). Â Averse to sun exposure and bright light. Â Hydrophobic. Limited social skills and experience. Â Lacks formal education.
