A nice spot along the Drury-Chaney Loop Trail #hiking #redwoods #avenueofthegiants
Small trees feeding on fallen giants under the sorrel.
The Founders' Grove is the most-visited grove in Humboldt Redwoods and a major North Coast redwood attraction. Such a great photo
The Avenue of the Giants is a great diversion from the, still beautiful, Hwy 101. When traveling up or down the stretch of 101 from Scotia to Garberville there are great vistas and stunning expanses of the redwood canopy of Humboldt Redwoods National Park. Still, if you find this amazing, there are no words to describe great portions of the Avenue of the Giants.
Just a lazy drive along this span of old highway will lower your blood pressure and drape you with a sense of calm. Get out of the car and hike any of the hundreds of trails (specifically those that are part of the Auto Tour) and you will find yourself reinvigorated.
For more information on the Avenue, its towns and trails, visit www.aveofthegiants.com or go to the Facebook page (facebook.com/aveofthegiants).

One of the best views in the redwood forest... Simply trees and sorrel.
Lots of great photos of the Avenue of the Giants on Tumblr
As this is our first post on Tumblr... What is more appropriate than the entrance sign...
