Twister Headline the O2 Academy, Newcastle (21.5.15)
Words cannot describe the amazing time that I had at this gig. After months of holding my tickets and knowing about the event it has finally been and gone, the wait felt like a lifetime, the lads in Twister have worked endless days and nights making sure that their night was as perfect as can be and they have achieved what they wanted to, fireworks, confetti and loud ass music combined together made this night unforgettable and I am glad I got to share it with them!
Unfortunately I was unable to make the bands acoustic VIP set but what I have heard from it, I missed out massively, I only thank the people that video’d and live streamed the set, it was a perfect way for Twister to open their night for their true dedicated fans!
I made it to the gig just as it was starting with their opening act already on stage, Sam Gibson did an impressive job, this being the first time I have seen this act I was blown away by his talent. Unfortunately it did not dawn on me to take a video of Sam but I did manage to snap a couple of photos which can be found on IN-TUNE’s Facebook page!
After a quick changeover the band Offpeak took the stage, again the first time I had seen or heard of this act, they were something a little different, they knew how to involve the crowd and have fun doing what they were doing, the band full of smiles and energy!
Next up was Judas, now I have heard of this band before and only ever heard great things at that, this is a band that I had eventually hoped to see so I was overjoyed to see them here supporting Twister, they made the massive journey from London to be here and won us all over with their brilliant music. It didn’t take long for Judas to win over the crowd of Newcastle really hope to see them play the area again very soon! You will definitely catch me at the front row!
A New Nowhere got their chance to hit the stage, the last support band before Twister hit the stage. Spent all night waiting for the moment that a band I had been looking forward to see got their chance to play one of Newcastles greatest venues, it was well deserved and only a matter of time before they get to headline this stage themselves! A New Nowhere have been featured on IN-TUNE many times now and are playing our festival in October!
Finally, we have Twister, this is a moment that everyone has been waiting for a long time, I am sure I am not the only one to feel extremely proud of the band form making it to headlining at the O2. For those who know the band like I do they will know that they work night and day and dedicated all of their time to making this gig perfect and they achieved just that. Twister have worked so incredibly hard on both of their albums releasing brilliant new music to please the souls of their fans. The O2 is only the beginning for Twister, I have no doubts when I say this is just the first step into a massive musical journey to becoming legends of the rock genre!
Half way through the set Stevie came onto stage to perform some acoustic songs, as usual he blew us all away with his impressive vocals and songwriting hitting the hearts of all of us there.
