but my hottest (?) take is that idrm that the ogs were brought back into the tgg trilogy bc i LOVED the og trilogy and all the characters involved so i definitely loved the plot coming back around to involve both the older and the newer characters (MI FAMILIAA). BUT, saying that, i also think that’s what jlb intended all along and her mistake was marketing tgg as a spin-off of tig when it actually is a continuation. 🤓🤓

it pissed me off so bad because why are we giving characters trauma (like eve with the getting groomed at a young age) and not bringing it up again, nonetheless letting her talk to her new best fucking friend sister avery about it. giving characters trauma to add depth but not MAKING IT DEEP isnt depth. write it well or dont write it. same goes for her other topics like abuse. yeah im so happy Libbys story shows she couldn't be strong or fight for Avery on her own, but insert muscular cowboy and omg she is saved and everyone knows you can only heal if a man is helping you! 'nash cant leave libbys side for a night, she needs him☹️☹️' its a fucking joke. someone please rewrite this book. DONTTT even get me started on Michael Townsend or the singular moment of racism xander mentions, also having to find out alisa had a hard time with her job through a fucking interview rather than the books, and the part where tobias manipulates her being in a bonus chapter exclusive to america. nah yeah ill pay an extra $60 NZD including shipping just so I can read one scene that adds depth to a character instead of it already been incorporated so people do not mischaracterize her.
