“Thank you, love.” he beamed and stood up straight in order to give the brunette his full attention. “It sounds like I should be welcoming you back as well. But, no, actually I have been coming to this one for a while now, but I’ve just gotten out of the habit and picked up other ones that are worse for my health. Smoking…” he shrugged and stuck both of his hands into the pockets of his loose fitting Adidas workout pants. “I’ve been able to quit several times now, but I just can’t seem to shake the habit. So I thought that it would be a good idea to put some better habits back into my life.”
Colin’s gaze was momentarily adverted by a few more people who were just coming through the door and unrolling their mats. The room was starting to fill up and it was beginning to get fairly loud so he inched a little closer so he could hear her a little better. Of course, he hadn’t pushed every healthy habit out of his life just yet, as he still loved to go out hiking when he had some time and a chance to do so.
“My name is Colin— what’s yours?” he asked, noting the instructor walking into the room with her mat under her arm. She began setting up herself, but instead of starting the class, she began doing a few warm up stretches as she waited for the last few people to take their places in the studio.
Marie offered a soft smile, mind racing to figure out where she had seen the man before. While she wasn’t an avid movie watcher, she had seen a few here and there. The remake of Fright Night just so happened to be one of the movies that Marie had seen, being forced to the theater by her friends, which is exactly where she had seen Colin before. Deciding not to say anything about it, Marie simply nodded her head and focused back on their conversation. “Chewing gum is a good alternative for smoking.” She informed him, hoping she didn’t come off a judgmental. It was nothing more than a simple comment.
Glancing up as more people arrived and their teacher got herself set up, Marie stayed settled on her knees. Unlike most of the other people in the room, she didn’t bother going along with the warm ups, wanting to save her energy for when the actual class started. Not that yoga was a very energy consuming activity, but still.
“Nice to meet you, Colin.” Marie smiled, her attention returning to the male as he settled him closer to her. “My name’s Marie.” And then because she couldn’t help herself, “You’re from Fright Night, right? And Seven Psychopaths?” Weird movie, but she had still sat through it.
