Just for the record, don’t feed obligate carnivores vegan diets. Just don’t. The person who fed that fennec fox a vegan diet clearly had no idea what the fuck they were thinking. 

But I wish that the people who went apeshit over this case actually cared about other animals and stopped using isolated cases like this to justify shitting on a whole group of people.

As much as some non vegans don’t want to hear it (I know because I was one of them just 2 years ago), the links between social justice and veganism are indivisible. They are connected 100%. Its a natural progression. No one should be hurt or abused or murdered. This included animals. Caring about animal rights does not diminish your passion and devotion to fighting for oppressed humans. It really doesn’t.

Not to mention, animal agriculture harms humans as well. Disproportionately people of color, too

Dear vegans,

We’re living in a world where you’re believed to be extreme if you’re not wishing any suffering upon any living being. A world where vegans are being laughed, constantly mocked. And what for? Truth is: you’re not extreme at all. You’re compassionate, you’ve seen how terrible the world treats these animals and you’ve made your connection to these animals, and you’re so strong in trying to help them. If it was so extreme and hard and bad for you to be vegan, the vegan population wouldn’t be growing so fast. We’re strong!! We know what we’re fighting for and hell no, we’re not giving up on that. Never lose sight of why you do this and never lose sight of the people who support you through this journey. Let’s make a change together!!

Those who run it refer to it constantly on their social media as “a family run farm” because they know people like that. Everyone who buys from here will say that they get their eggs from a small, free range, local family farm. They’re not lying… But this is what it looks like.
