avpd culture is trying to participate more in conversations you're in and struggling to figure out if you genuinely don't have anything you want to say or if you don't have anything you think is *worth* saying
.
avpd culture is saying something weird that makes literally no sense to someone and feeling so heavily ashamed and embarrassed that you never want to see the light of day ever again
.
being madly in love with someone platonically is so ridiculous. hey man i think about you all the time. i wish you were here right now. talking to you makes me indescribably happy. i miss you. honestly what the hell
wishing everyone having a crisis in the notes of this post a very its gonna be okay guys
thatss who i made this post about yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
avpd culture isn't necessarily *not* knowing what to say, but needing upwards of half an hour to figure out *how* you want to say it (if you even manage to do so without feeling stupid or just chickening out altogether 😔)
.
aroace culture is wanting a partner, but like not romantic or queerplatonic i just want to have somebody who is undoubtedly my Partner and we don't need to label it past that
Avpd + being raised sheltered culture is feeling like you don’t know anything compared to other ppl your age, but not being able to ask for help so you just avoid avoid avoid avoid

.
Found this on Facebook the other day and thought I’d share:
[ID: A friendly reminder that you don’t need to fully understand the nuances of gender identity to know that each individual person knows who they are better than you ever will.]
AvPD culture is constantly having to ask people to talk about something, even if they previously said they'd love to hear it, because it's way less stressful to be welcomed to talk. Like a vampire that has to consistently ask to come into a house -✉️
.
aphobia is not just harmful to asexual people. it hurts everyone when society tells people they are not complete without a romantic partner. that they are aren’t a whole person if they aren’t in love and sexually desirable. people spend some of the most fulfilling parts of their lives feeling like they’re wasting that time because they aren’t in a relationship. they spend so much time looking for “the one”. time that could be spent learning, travelling, building a found family. they miss out on meaningful relationships, on soulmates, because they are told that person can’t be the most important person in their life. it devalues the support that’s found in community, it devalues the love found in friendships, it devalues the importance for living for oneself.
AvPD culture is feeling sorry for others because I think so poorly of myself. My whole existence must be a burden in their eyes.
.
If you want kids but can’t bear the thought of having gay or trans kids then you shouldn’t have kids. Stick a condom on huns
^^^
This goes for disabled/neurodivergent kids too
Avpd culture is being embarrassed about literally anything and everything. I’ll literally just exist and my brain will be like This Is So Humiliating Why Are You Making Me Do This
.
aspec/arospec avpd is feeling invalidated by a lot of resources saying intimacy is an intense desire that a person with avpd is just fearful around.
even knowing they mean 'the desire for connection' and use of the word 'intimacy' is probably either use of the wrong word for 'deep social connections', or it's because most ppl with avpd that have been in clinical settings, have been allosexual and/or alloromantic. and their intense desire for connection that they're fearful about is at least partially those types of connections.
and now i'm once again feeling even worse about socializing while aroace, because it feels like i wont even fit in with a group for people with a disorder causing severe social fears among other things.
.
AvPD culture is knowing you need help, knowing who to ask for help, knowing they have offered said help (multiple times), writing out the message to ask for that help....
And then deleting it cause clearly you'd just annoy them and also the problem isn't even that bad >.>
-🧶
.
avpd culture is remembering every little embarrassing thing you said and constantly feeling so much shame and that leads to wanting to disconnect yourself from everything and everyone. wanting to delete every form of communication you have, making new accounts, and moving on as a different person who never did any of that but also just. not having the energy to and worrying about what your friends would think and etc etc
.
