Through a strange trick of fate, if there even was such a thing, Sylvia had found her way back to the very woods sheâd once been born in. It had been well over a decade at this point since sheâd last seen this place, and her pack had long since moved on elsewhere, but she recognized it from instinct alone.
Wandering through the trees and reminiscing about times long past had her letting down her guard more than she realized, walking around without much regard for who might be watching as she gently ran her claws across the bark of a tree as she passed.
At least, until she heard a sound.
She wasnât even sure what sheâd just heard, but her ears turned to focus on it, followed shortly by her head. And still, she couldnât see anyone right away. Was it some small critter, not worth her attention⌠or was another Zoroark actually hiding out here?
The answer to her question came soon enough, as she looked up and her teal eyes finally met a pair with a much warmer tone. For a moment, she stood perfectly still, her cinnabar-red mane billowing out behind her head in a defensive display, before she found her voice again and broke the near-complete silence that had hung over the forest for a good while now.
âOh. Uh. Hello.â They didnât seem hostile, at the very least⌠otherwise they were bound to have swooped down and taken her by surprise, right? It was probably worth it to give them the benefit of the doubt. âI didnât see you⌠up there.â
As far as Dexter could tell they certainly werenât going to cause any issues, in fact they seemed rather upset as they spoke up to him. Heâd bring himself back onto the earthâs soil, as he greeted the other.
âHello there, most people tend to just not see me, but that aside,â
He didnât wish to upset them nor make her feel threatened in any sense, as though the smaller bird could, still, seeing a Zoroark undisguised wasnât every day.
âAre you er, alright?â
Though he didnât wish to be blunt as he could, there was real way to ask anyway around it, making sure they were fine was going to be more important than hopping around.
