A Story I Can Only Tell You
because in a million years I would never admit it to anyone else.
So I got A FEW free Snowy Dog pets at Christmas, because I DID obsessively watch for floating tokens on SOME accounts, but not all. On one account I DID get Snowy Dog was the Alice account.
But what to name them? I've mined my brain SO. Many. Times. to come up with new characters/new room themes that I really couldn't think of a good name. So I pulled out my annotated copy of The Hunting Of The Snark and opened it for inspiration.
I was IMMDIATELY gifted with a LONG list of possible names for webkinz for QUITE a while, when I read this (one of my favorite passages.)
It's about the one who came on board the ship and had forgotten all of his luggage, but more importantly:
he had wholly forgotten his name.
He would answer to "Hi!" or to any loud cry,
Such as "Fry me!" or "Fritter my wig!"
To "What-you-may-call-um!" or "What-was-his-name!"
But especially "Thing-um-a-jig!"
While, for those who preferred a more forcible word,
He had different names from these:
His intimate friends called him "Candle-ends,"
And his enemies "Toasted-cheese."
So on Tumtum Wabe the dog is called "Fry Me!" and he is a loner - I don't feel any great need for him to have a brother - and that was just fine, but when I adopted Candle Ends I just HAD to give him a twin and named him Toasted Cheese. I said i WAS. Not. Going. To. Buy. A. Code (the whole POINT was that the pet was free!!!) and PROMISED myself that I would just wait until next year for the NEXT snowy dog. That way he could have a TWIN brother, which is really the point, right? Its just two names for the same guy...
So, in the meantime, I started making them a little love nest (and MULTIPLE matching outfits) for the future. For one year from now when there will be two of them.
Well you can guess the rest - finally broke down and spent a whopping eight bucks in this guy,
which was the closest I could find to a twin
.And now they live happily in their little love-nest, and by " little" I mean at this point it is includes three rooms.
And LOOK!! after YEARS of collecting Bloomin' Furniture from The Curio Shop I FINALY have an ENTIRE Bloomin' house!! (And this is the first time this has happened!)
Now, when I think about these two and their story, I wonder if they are Best Friends or maybe Enemies-to-Lovers??
ANWAY I would NEVER admit to another adult that I adopted two pets and gave them a romantic hideaway, but you are an intimate friend. So much so that you CAN use the name Toasted Cheese when addressing me.
