Receiving a text from Juyeon asking to meet her  had been quite a surprise for Skadi. A very nice one though, as she hadn't seen the young demigod in a while. So she was more than curious to know what he wanted to talk about so she immediately answered, inviting him for dinner whenever he wanted.

Two days later, the goddess had prepared a feast for her guest. A roasted leg of lamb with grilled vegetables and homemade flatbreads were waiting for the young man, as well as a fragrant Asgardian beer, received on the very morning. 

The cabin's door was open, letting the soft air of April invade the house, bringing with it the salty air of the sea, mixed with the fresh scent of pines. She immediately felt Juyeon's arrival as he approached and she stood at the threshold, waiting for him to join her.

"Juyeon !" Skadi exclaimed when the son of Loki was close enough. "Welcome to my humble house, I am happy to see you again !"

(note: referencing Bloom Into the Light here~) It's been a whirlwind couple of days since Juyeon's conversation with In-Soo a few days earlier. He's pretty happy though, it's... nice. They're being discrete but did say they could tell those they were close to. Judgement was the last thing they needed and while it's unlikely they'd face much... Juyeon still wanted to be cautious and to nurture their now even closer bond more before telling the rest of the community. That is what Mount Phoenix is, honestly. A community. But really, as it is... Juyeon only had one person he wanted to tell at the moment. (He'll probably mention it to Angela later or him and In-Soo would both tell her later though if they're being discrete... he's not sure if he'd want to share the information with Siwoo given how children can be.) Thoughts aside, Skadi was the one he wanted to share the news with first and then he'd go from there. "Hey Skadi, it's good to see you again too. Sorry for being kinda busy for a while." He stated lightly, as he walked up to the goddess' home and stood in front of her. "Have you been well?"

Bloom Into the Light

Throughout all the time together, from their first reunion to every bad situation to the recovery and healing... something had grown and bloomed between Juyeon and In-soo. They hadn't really said anything about it or put any real name to it. It's just something that existed there between them. Things shifted and changed more after events and other conversations and things Juyeon hadn't been personally involved in. But all of it just accumulated. He'd noticed that In-Soo had something on his mind and while Juyeon hadn't wanted to press and preferred to let the other male bring it up when he was ready to. As, Juyeon was sure that In-Soo would share it in time. And... eventually his patience was rewarded. They'd been hanging out like usual but after a few minutes the TV was muted and In-Soo seemed like he was thinking hard about something or as if he was collecting his words or thoughts. But whatever it was, Juyeon had shifted and given the other male his full attention. His expression was curious but patiently waiting to see if the other would speak up before he opted to speak first. "Is there something on your mind, Soongie?" He asked softly, offering a light nudge in case it's what the other needed to speak up.

Siwoo gave Angela enough time to bring a some drinks to the table, a healthy mix of ice cold water and soda depending on the other's preference. Angela still did not know much about Juyeon, so she was doing her best to cater to average tastes. Hopefully, there would be something in her effort that he would enjoy.

Grinning at Juyeon, Siwoo nodded his head with a large beaming grin. His hand shot out to gently grab onto Juyeon's, and he lead his uncle to the decked out kitchen table where Angela was waiting beside. Angela looked over at the demigod. "Hello, Juyeon. I'm glad you were able to join us tonight." She spoke kindly. There was some guilt for not having been super vocal with her brother lately, but she had a lot on her plate. She'd hope he would understand.

"Sit wherever you are comfortable. Plenty of yummy food for us all."

Juyeon smiled back at Siwoo, allowing the child to lead him easily. He really was such a cute kid and the dancer did genuinely enjoy any interactions with him. Having a nephew was new but he took to it easily enough. "Hey! No problem, Soongie's busy with his own family fun so it's great to have a chance for some of my own too. Thanks for inviting me, it all looks really great." He returned, taking a seat and reaching for the water.

He relaxed back once he had some, smiling at the other two before trying to think of a conversation topic or something.

He's never really had a sit down dinner with family before. All the things he'd gone through in life just making this sort of event either difficult or impossible. Plus... he never really had anything with a blood relative before. It's always been people who've taken him in and took care of him. Ultimately, he's not exactly educated on these situations but he'd try his best to follow through.

They were the perfect pairing, to be quite honest. It wasn't rare for In-Soo to thing about what could have been if he hadn't left Juyeon behind so many years ago. Finding him again in Mount Phoenix had been a blessing, a chance to reconnect with his life's happier times. 

Juyeon made the bad things bearable.

We should invite him more often to hang out then In-Soo proposed, smiling back at the other. He was happy that most of his friends seemed to get along well with each other. The vet didn't let go of Juyeon as the son of Loki undressed, just enough for him to be able to see the tattoo. 

"It's beautiful" the Chinese demigod whispered, softly tracing the dark lines on his now roommate's skin. "I can't wait to see it whole" he added with a wink.

Could have, should have, would have. But really... In-Soo was a wonderful veterinarian now. He wouldn't be doing his dream job if he hadn't left back then and Juyeon would have hated for him to miss out on it. They had their dancing, but it was a hobby and though Juyeon turned his passion for it into a career-- In-Soo's path to being a veterinarian made the most sense too.

Juyeon nodded in agreement, smile growing fonder at the other's clear happiness his friends got along. With In-Soo's hold on him, Juyeon did have to do a bit of a wiggle-shuffle to show even just a bit of the tattoo but it wasn't too difficult.

He hummed softly at the little whisper, laughing lightly at the other's cheeky little comment and wink before playfully pushing him away. "Alright, come on. Let's get to shopping and finishing up what we need to today. Okay?" He mock hip-checked In-soo as he spoke, stretching and relaxing with a content smile.

In-Soo would be dead if Juyeon hadn't be there. And now he was helping the vet to get over the pain in his heart, not an easy task. But it was nice to know there was someone he could count on, day or night. And he hoped that he would able to give back the same support if needed.

The last months hadn't been easy to either of them but together, in a place free of bad memories, they would be able to build themselves back, to find their happiness again.

"I see ! He mentioned that he knew you, of course, but didn't elaborate. I'm glad you had a good contact." Juyeon and Kaz were two of his most favorite people so he only wanted them to get along well. He himself was considering getting a tattoo from Kaz.

In-Soo chuckled as they bumped and he wrapped his arm around his friend's neck, winking. "Well... It's not like I never saw you naked before so it's up to you if you want to show me now."

Together, they were supported in every way they could be. The best of friendships with a hint of something just a little bit deeper. It's a question on who would admit to it first. But they were still supported no matter where things took them as time passed.

"Yeah, I mean we haven't gotten to know each other outside the basics. But yeah, it was pretty good too." He smiled as he spoke before he grinned when the other wrapped his arm around him too and winked. He'd laughed at the sight before humming a little, shifting slightly so he could push his shirt out of the way. He then moved his waistband a little too, winking back as he gave the other a little peek at the tattoo on his hip.

"There's some of it, yeah? Maybe later I can show the rest." He added, grinning just a little more as he spoke.

Dinner of Three

Angela had been quite busy recently between work and tending to her son. In doing so, she knew she had not tended to her less immediate friends and family, specifically her half-brother. So, the demigoddess had cleared out an evening for both her and Siwoo to spend with Juyeon. Angela adored cooking by nature for others, especially those she cared about. So, she had painstakingly spent hours cooking for the meal at hand.

Just as she finally set the table, the demigoddess heard a knock at the door. Still needing to get the drinks and rather certain it was Juyeon, she sent Siwoo off to welcome his uncle in. And, Siwoo did just that. Opening the door, the child exclaimed when it was Juyeon. "Uncle! Welcome!" He stated, and in a rush, the child lunged for the man to give him a hug. "Mom's made us yummy food. Hurry! We need to eat!"

With In-Soo spending some time with his varied relatives occasionally, Juyeon had easily agreed to Angela's invitation to having dinner with her and Siwoo. It's still a strange thing in some ways, having an actual family member verses what he'd gone through before he'd come to mount phoenix. It's... nice though he hasn't spent a lot of time with the other child of Loki.

And while he was aware that Hel was technically also a half-sister, it'd a little easier to picture having another demigod as a sibling verses a full blown goddess.

So... it's nice.

Not to mention the nephew that came with that. He chuckled a little at the child's hug attack, shifting down to make it easier for them both as he listened to the rapid words. "Yeah, thank you. Let's go!" He agreed, following the child once the hug was finished.

In-Soo's face lit up even more at the mention of dessert. "Let's stop at Black Forest on the way back ! Maybe they still have some cakes left. Wait, I will text Taavi." Having a baker in your contact list was extremely useful. The vet blushed a bit under Juyeon's gaze, turning away to grab another handful of books.

It was a new start for the both of them though. The son of Loki had gone through very bad things during his whole life and Minry's arrival on the island had been a huge blow in his friend's moral. 

"It would be a good occasion for you two to become friends though. Tell him you watch his streams, it'll make him happy."  In-Soo had made a lot of friends since his arrival in Mount Phoenix and though they all were different, he hoped they all could get along well. 

"Which makes me think that I still haven't seen your new tattoo !"  He knew what it was and where it was located. "Maybe I should bring you to the pool to have a glimpse of it ?"

"Yeah, I think that'll be good." Juyeon agreed, smiling at how happy his suggestion had made the other. He did chuckle too once the other got shy and turned away. His friend was truly so precious, he's happy he's been able to support him in all the ways he could.

They've both been through a lot, but together they can build themselves up and grow stronger despite all the things that have knocked them both down in their own ways.

"I mentioned it when I got the tattoo actually. There was a whole conversation I think? Mostly me explaining about seeing his streams and learning about the tattooing from that or something. It was a while ago so I don't quite remember everything." He returned, smiling more as he spoke. "Mm? Well I could show you if you really want to see it right now?"

He gave a teasing little smile while speaking, bumping the other a little too. "You don't have to be sneaky with me, you should know I'd show it to you if you seriously asked." He added with a small hum.

Venturing outside the city was not a common occurrence for Vitas; in fact, he mostly stayed within a set space between his apartment and the administrative district. However, he had recently had a somewhat successful outing to the beach, so perhaps toeing the edge of the forest would be another logical next step. He knew he couldn't tolerate the high altitude of the mountains, but the wilderness might be...nice. Of course, he would be careful not to venture too far in, mostly keeping to the edges so he could be easily found should he collapse, but...he felt somewhat good today, as far as his energy level was concerned, and knew he needed to take advantage of the boost while he had the chance.

Despite its belt being pulled as tight as it could be, the tall waif still seemed so very much swallowed by the black trenchcoat as though blanketed by shadow, his left eye covered by a few midnight locks that had escaped the small ponytail at the base of his skull while his right eye stared through the lens of his silver-rimmed glasses. The object of his attention? A pine cone. He had found it on the ground and now held it within his bare hands, his gloves having been tucked into his coat pockets in favor of allowing his fingertips to delicately graze the edges of the cone. This silent tactile reverie came to a sudden stop. He may have been half blind, but even he could notice a big...black...shadow wiggling its way closer.

At first, he did not move, just a shift of his gaze toward the creature that peeked around the trees. There was a subtle amusement in his eyes--an almost smile, almost, not quite but oh so close, just a ghost of a glimpse in his gaze. Vitas liked wolves--the most dangerous predator Iceland had was the arctic fox, and honestly, those were rare and quite skittish when it came to humans; but when he had traveled to Norway and Sweden, he had come across a few, had felt a strong affinity toward them--so this big black creature had his attention...and elicited a faded softness in his gaze that so very, very few people in his life had ever seen. He was...happy he had decided to come to the forest today.

"I...see...you..." he cooed flatly in a quiet baritone.

After all the playing, Juyeon was admittedly in a rather silly mood. So, when the other demigod looked towards him he froze briefly. He was stuck in a half to the ground half tail in the air kind of position and started pretending he was invisible before his sensitive ears picked up the quiet coo and he dropped fully to the ground for a moment.

He watched the other carefully, trying to decide if he wanted to just approach now or to wait. Admittedly, he didn't use his animal forms around the other residents all that much. At least he didn't run around quite as often as In-Soo did so he wasn't really versed in how to go about with interacting with people while he's not in a form that could speak.

Maybe he should ask him later... and to try using his forms more often. He really did enjoy the little freedoms they gave. He should indulge in them more.

He observed the other for another moment longer before opting to finally approach. He stopped about a foot or two away from the other demigod, head tilted to the side slightly as he sat on the ground. He kind of wondered what the other was doing near the forest, it's not the safest place in Mount Phoenix but given his abilities he couldn't help feeling comfortable in it. He wasn't sure that'd that apply to this individual though, but then again... maybe it did?

I think you liked The Shining when we watched it years ago. No jumpscare for you ! In-Soo giggled, swaying with the other again, an echo of their earlier dance. Not tired. 'm fine.

"I see that you're all ganging up against me !" The vet exclaimed with a laugh, closing the door of the bathroom behind him with a huff. Removing his costume took time, especially with his trembling, clumsy hands and fingers. But he was soon in the shower, enjoying the hot water against his skin, scrubbing to remove the makeup and gel in his hair.

He soon was done, joining Juyeon and the cats in the living room, barefaced and in warm pyjamas, seemingly a little more awake. He collapsed on the couch, Bomi jumping next to him. She sniffer him again and, seemingly satisfied, cuddled against him. "Bathroom's free !" he exclaimed, smiling at his friend.

His smile quickly disappeared when he was alone, fingers gently petting Bomi's fur. With the calmness came the sadness again and In-Soo grabbed a plaid to wrap around him, hiding the tears behind the blanket.

"Did I...? I can't even remember." Juyeon chuckled a little humming and gently bumping his head against the top of In-soo's. "Don't lie, Soongie." He teased, hugging him gently.

He laughed at the other's remark about all of them ganging up on him, shaking his head with a small smile before he waved him off to the shower and settled down to wait.

After the time passed and In-soo returned, Juyeon gave him a small smile and shifted to get up while placing Haruki in his vacated spot. He'll take a quick shower so they're both fresh for bed. It won't take him long, just about five to ten minutes. "I'll be back." He stated lightly, briefly ruffling his hand through the other's freshly washed hair and disappearing into the bathroom once he'd grabbed his own clothes.

Once washed and dressed fresh himself, Juyeon paused at the doorway into the living room. He looked at the wrapped form of his friend before a concerned frown crossed his lips at the subtle shake of the other's shoulders under his blanket. He ran a hand through his hair and considered a few options to try and help sooth the other's sadness.

He considered shifting into a cat, slipping himself in to wrap around the other before deciding against it and simply moving over to the other quietly. "Hey." He stated softly, trying not to startle him before reaching his hand to stroke through the other's hair again. "Come here, Soongie." He added, sitting next to him and lightly tapping his shoulder to start pulling him in.

a wolf!Juyu starter for fellow pantheon member @vitasmp (Takes place a bit after new years once Juyu and In-Soo return from their new years trip into Seoul)

Juyeon had needed to stretch his legs a bit after him and In-soo had returned from their somewhat emotional trip into Seoul. While he wasn't related to In-Soo's mother, he had known her while she was alive. She'd often come to support the two of them while they'd had their dance group activities back when they were both a little younger. So he'd been somewhat affected by their time visiting her grave as well.

Thus, after they had returned it was nice to just run around and let himself focus on baser things like chasing bunnies and pouncing in snow piles. In-soo had been with him for a bit but at the moment he was alone and rolling in snow. A moment later though, his nose twitched as he caught scent of something before following after it to the edge of the woods.

Curious, he glanced around before he tilted his head at a quiet sound that came from the edge of the trees. He adjusted a bit, weight shifting before he dropped down to a crouch with his belly touching the ground and then moving closer to the edge of the woods in a sort of wiggle worm-step kind of movement until he could peek passed the trees.

In-Soo nodded and stretched as he finished to unpack the books he was currently putting away. "I agree ! Maybe you could make jjamppong ? Yours is the best I've ever eaten and it would be a nice side dish."  Something warm and comforting, the ideal first meal in a new place. 

The vet had lost the notion of belonging since Hua's disappearance. He often felt lost, like someone drifting away at sea. He needed to find the paddles that would bring him back to shore. Juyeon, Bomi and the house were the first one but the second remained hidden still.

"Kaz is coming to help tomorrow so we don't have to settle everything. We can use the time to paint your room so it's ready for you to use. And we need to rest a bit too, we did a lot lately."

"Ah, yeah! I could. Then that's planned too. Should we get something for dessert? Is there anything you're craving tonight with everything else? We can pick something up on our way back." He offered a moment later, gaze focused on the other as he spoke. He wanted to offer whatever he could to help In-Soo relax and feel nice whenever possible.

The other demigod both deserved and needed it after all he'd been through in the past months.

"Mm... alright, give him my thanks too. I'm glad you've got him as a close friend too. He's always entertaining though I haven't had a chance to get to know him more personally myself." Hopefully that could change too, Juyeon still frequently enjoyed the tattooist's streams and he still remembered the time he'd gone to him for a new tattoo.

He still admired the work he'd done sometimes too, sitting perfect and proud while 'snaking' slightly around his left hip.

At that thought, Juyeon mused that In-soo had yet to see that new addition. Maybe he could show it to him at some point in the future... It's beautifully done after all.

"Nah, I can't do that to you !" In-Soo giggled, leaning against his friend, the feathers of his hat coming to tickle the other's chin.  "I'm sure there'll be cartoons or something." The vet winking, snuggling in Juyeon's arms. He was warm and strong against him and the young man hoped they could stay like this forever. 

In-Soo hummed while they waited for the taxi, nodding at Juyeon's words. As time progressed, his mind was becoming even more foggy, words reaching his ears like muffled sounds. It was like a lullaby and he was fighting to stay awake. 

He really should stop drinking so much.

They were welcomed by Bomi and Haruki and In-Soo lifted the first one, hugging him and petting her soft fur. She soon was purring and sniffing him, her small nose scrunching at his bad smell. "I think Bomi would like me to shower now" he announced, placing the cat on the couch. "I promise not to be long" the vet added, sliding to the bathroom with fresh pyjamas in his hands.

Juyeon laughed too before nodding. "Probably, if anything we can just put in a dvd for something we've seen too. I think you might crash soon anyway. You look tired." He murmured lightly, swaying them a little too.

As they arrived home and In-Soo picked up Bomi, Juyeon smiled and chuckled a bit too. "Mm, you're probably right. You do smell a little strong but it's okay." He lightly tapped the other's shoulder before scooping up his own cat and set his face next to hers, lifting one of her little black paws to give the other male a little shooing motion too.

"We'll all wait for you, though I think I want to at least wash my face before we settle down once you're finished." He'll judge if he wants to fully shower or not when the other is clean and comfy. He just wanted to be sure his friend was settled before anything else, he also mused the other might need a little extra affection and attention today after he'd dragged him to the ball too.

Socializing was good but he knew the other was still dealing with a lot... so comforts after the long day was a necessity as well.

In-Soo was basking in his afterglow, he felt good and was sleepy, ready to close his eyes and let himself go. Resting sounded like a good idea at that moment. "You have to go now" the man at his side said, rousing him, trying to push him out of the bed and everything came crashing down on him. The bar hopping until he saw that young man who looked like Hua. Dark hair and pale skin and he immediately was under the charm.

"Please, go" the other repeated and In-Soo finally got up, stumbling around as he looked for his clothes. He looked at the man as he dressed as quickly as he could. He was too old and too muscular to truly look like his ex-boyfriend. Very pretty but that was all. The vet could feel tears of shame burning in his eyes and he escaped the smile apartment, a soft 'bye' left behind. 

The night was freezing and In-Soo wasn't clad warmly enough to cross the whole city in the deepest hours of the night. He was tired and felt like he was going to be sick, his body so full of alcohol that he could smell the stench coming out of his pores. He sat down on the stairs of a nearby building and took his phone out, doing the thing he had always promised himself to never do.

When Juyeon got home, he'd noticed how quiet the house was. It's not the first time either and though the dancer was mildly concerned, he hadn't really felt it was his place to ask about it yet. He'd noticed a few things about his friend and roommate over the past couple of months or so since Hua vanished, but he'd only ever been keeping careful note. He wasn't In-Soo's parent nor was he his romantic partner, they were close friends and 'pack mates' but he wasn't someone who'd monitor his friend and his decisions.

He'd only say something if it formed into a problem, into something to be actively concerned about.

It was after his shower, as he was toweling his hair dry and getting ready for bed that he realized that he did need to say something. A single text from In-Soo that had him frowning and filling with concern. The other had never texted him like this before, so something must have happened...

He moved to dress more warmly, gaze catching on In-Soo's coat just as he was getting ready to leave. He grabbed that and then pulled up the other's message to respond to it in return.

[text ➜ Soongie: I'll be right there, keep warm. You forgot your jacket.]

He then headed out to take In-soo's car and pick him up. It didn't take him long to arrive at Dr. Feelgoods, glancing around until he spotted the other on some steps. He looked so miserable and upset... the norse demigod sighed quietly, approaching his friend and placing the coat around his shoulders. "C'mon Soongie, I've got you." He slowly helped him up, guiding him towards the car and wrinkling his nose slightly over the heavy scent of alcohol that surrounded his friend when he was close enough to smell it.

"How much did you drink...?" He asked after a moment, opening the passenger door so the other could climb inside.

A change a scenery. Away from the Yao Guai Apartments. That was what In-Soo needed and he was lucky enough to open this new chapter of his life with Juyeon. They had found a nice two-stories house in the Residential District with a small garden and a lovely rooftop terrace. It was modern but cozy, the ideal space for them and their cats.

The idea to move in together had come to them as they took a little break in the mountains, in Skadi’s cabin, where they had gone to escape the noises of the city and all the pain that had seized their hearts in the last months. Hua, Maxim, Mindy… It had been too much. They had needed fresh air and clearer minds.

In-Soo loved the bedroom he had chosen for himself. It wasn’t the biggest one but he didn’t mind. Cream-colored walls and soft light coming through the windows made it a warm place where he felt safe and comfortable. A few hours of work to build his furniture and he would be fully installed.

Bomi and Haruki were exploring the house already, running around the rooms, seemingly enjoying the space they now had at their disposition to play and lounge. The vet was happy they felt at ease already, amused by how much they reflected their owners’ current emotions.

He smiled when Juyeon appeared at his door, reflecting once more how blessed he was to have the young man back in his life. He probably wouldn’t be there anymore without him. "Of course ! And if we have time, we could grab some groceries. I want to make kimbap and tteokbokki for our first meal here."

In that instant, In-Soo knew that he would be happy there, in that lovely new place, with the cats and, more importantly, Juyeon that he loved so much. "There’s still a couple boxes in the care, let’s go get them and then we can go shopping."

Juyeon smiled back, quietly watching him until he spoke up. He nodded, rolling his shoulders slightly and standing a little more comfortably.

"Mm, groceries sound good too. We can plan our route specifically so we can manage both, Yeah? And that sounds like a great idea too. Maybe I can help you cook too? Put in both our efforts to really make it a nice first meal in a new home." He added, wanting to just give them both a solid comfortable feeling.

It's something they both probably needed too, honestly. A sense of comfort and relaxation that nothing else could beat. Belonging, something stable that could be great for the both of them.

"Yeah, lets go then! After we get the paint and the groceries, we can finish unpacking. Or at least get it to the point where there's just a few boxes left for each of us and the rest of the house is fully set up? What do you think?"
