Film review: Malignant (horror) When it comes to directors James wan is one of the best horror directors since the days of john carpenter and Clive barker and the other Masters of horror, he has this way of taking risks and running with them. At first, this film fell into the trope by not establish the character and fleshing them out so we can understand the characters better, but the film does this thing by making the audience think the film is one way, but the twist in the film make a U-turn on the whole story as it because very dark and brutally violent that put ( Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees ) to shame. The special effects are amazing, especially with the way James wan takes the concept of the psychic connection, but instead of the old way some directors use when you see a connection through someone's eyes, it takes you to a different location. James wan here in this film has created this way that similar to the silent hill film where the room around the character transforms, the character see what is happening psychically in the room, giving this movie a dark edge. Madison played amazingly by the talented Annabelle Wallis, with a well-written concept in which she finds herself in a horrifying predicament of thinking she going insane or what she seeing is truly happening, Annabelle performance really gives her character an edge and a very believable person going through hell. Some will call this a slasher film, but it is more of a bloodthirst, supernatural style horror with brutal violent action and very dark spin chilling moment movie to watch, especial in the 2nd and 3rd act of the film where this film gets a lot better in a very disturbing way, which horror fans should love. While it was an almost perfect horror there was one moment that was a little dumb, but the film as a whole was an amazing supernatural horror. Film i recommend watching. Film Review: Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Ring ( action / Fantasy) None Spoiler Review. I went into this film not really knowing much about this MCU movie other than knowing Fang fu is in the film from the trailer, but it surprised me in an origin story that explains everything about this film, what surprising which is fresh is it not hand fist in to make the audience feel dumb to the point that it has to tell you everything going on, it's as well respected and well-written film which out of all the MCU films this is one film I actually enjoyed watching. Got handing to the Hold casting which really brought this film to life, the martial arts stunt coordination was top-notch, through this film, we have a director that knows how to film fight scenes without that crappy shaky cam. Here you see every kick and punch, along with a great fight scene with wide-angle filming allow the audience to actually see the fights, that is something I love because the camera work on this fight scene was nothing but Amazing camera work. The film being an action fantasy I was not expecting the comedic moments to be this funny, the moments were perfect for the comedy tone, which made me laugh a few times, where other film using comedy sometimes doesn't hit the mark, but I'm glad to see these moments were funny and had good timing. Ben Kingsley cameo had a lot of comedic moments that were perfect timing, made a lot of the audience laughing including me, Awkwafina (welcome to the jungle 2) she was actually pretty funny as well with her well-timed comedic moments which shows that the writers did well with this film. Tony Chiu-Wai Leung done an amazing performance of a man that lived for thousands of years struggle with the darkness inside him and having that conflict as well as trying to be a father to his son ShangChi played amazingly by Simu Liu who fight chorograph on-screen shows how skilled he is in martial arts, making his fight scene look real on-screen. Special from legendary martial artist Michelle Yeoh who appear in this film really added the fantasy style martial arts using mystical powers just made this better than just having normal martial arts in the film. The visual effect is impressive, the way the wind moves, trees, especial the main fight, that I didn't see coming gave this film one hell of an epic fantasy fight that gave this film something bigger than the conflict between father and son, I will say this it was an awesome scene, to which I can't give spoilers you just have to go watch it your self. As an offbeat marvel film goes, it shows when you have good writers and a good director, MCU film can be better, with a darker edge. it's a film I can recommend watching. Film review: Snake Eyes ( action, adventure, fantasy) first of all this film was entertaining, but I'm gonna be honest the film has a crisis of identity for what the film is supposed to represent. The acting is sold and Henry Golding did a great job playing a snake, as well as the whole cast to this film, gave a solid performance. Along with the special effect and action scene which were ok, as certain elements ruin most of the action scenes. but all this is ruined by the way the film has been done. Film issues: Start off I noticed a big issue with the Film identity, yes the film does make moments where it's clear that it is a G.i joe film with cobras presence but the film concept has an identity crisis with trying to be two films with a Japanese style mobster movie and G.i.joe film which wasn't executed well onscreen, which make the film a little off point with the g.i. joe side. This was coupled with a lot of shaky camera work which I seriously hate because it ruins a good action scene when the camera is going all over the place you cant see what going on. Film review: Free Guy (Action / Comedy/ sci-fi) As the original film gets this has to be the best I've seen so far with great moments of laugher mixed with real-world content that involves popular YouTubers as well is a great concept to have for this movie. Special when the Film is based on an Open world gaming where an NPC name is guy played brilliantly by Ryan Reynolds who give a very hilarious moment throughout the film. The onscreen chemistry with the beautiful Jodie Comer who plays Millie giving a brilliant performance a kind of a love interest, which both Ryan and Jodie carried the film giving great moments of laughter and heart-warming concept. The film did raise my expectations, as from the trailer it does make the film look generic, but upon watching this film I was pleasantly surprised how well made this film is and how funny and outright hilarious moments this film gives, with a few cameos and a lot of nods to certain games really bring this movie world out. I loved that fact this movie takes itself into the player side which was absolutely hilarious not just because of the dialogue, it the fact this happens a lot to most gamer's lives, which gave it a funnier tone because it is so true. Lil Rel Howery playing buddy was a really great performance playing the friend of guy, as well as cameos from Channing Tatum and Chris Evens really give some of the comedy moments which added to the film all-around best moment, as well as Taika Waititi giving a funny performance really gave this movie what it needed. This is a film I can highly recommend watching if you're looking for a laugh Dislikes: The only little issue with this film is a few pace issues but the film as a whole is great. Film Review: The Suicide Squad 2 (action/ adventure/ comedy) Right let me state I am a DC fan but I'm gonna keep it real here and take myself out of the fandom of DC to give an honest review, I 'l be honest this feels like Guardian of the galaxy 2 all over again I will explain later in this review. As far an action this film does amp that up with Its outrageously violent and graphic tone with gritty, emotional well-paced, visually stunning movie, the way it does try to be better than the first film, which yes when it comes to the main villain it does better. But Sadly the critic and fan in me are very disappointed in the way this film has been handled, which I've noticed seems to be a trait with James Gunn because he does this very same thing with Guardian of the galaxy 2. I mean I tried to like it but the film felt messy. Dislikes: While I think it great that James Gunn introduced new characters, but 10 mins into the film, I almost felt like walking out of the film, from the get-go with the first team being a complete throw-away character, which yes I get it not call the suicide squad for nothing, it just felt like James Gunn didn't know how to start this film just put a random bunch of pointless character in that didn't need to be in the film. Not to mention one of my biggest pet peeves is this film telling us what going on like we're too stupid to understand what was going on, it came across as very insulting. Don't get me started on the editing for this film the pace of the film is ruin by this terrible editing of scenes not fitting together like a lot of the film has been cut on a massive scale. I've seen this with the Superman v Batman cinema release that makes scene by scene look terrible which made the film Horrible to watch on screen. While I not gonna blame James Gunn for this, because it feels like massive Studio interference once again, sabotaging their own films. But the film I said about this feels like Guardian of galaxy 2 all over again, it's just the fact the story gets the villain right while sabotaging the story which sadly in my opinion made the film feel like an incoherent mess. It came across like the story was all over the place with jokes that just weren't funny. Film review: jungle cruise (Action adventure fantasy) I'll give this film its fair dues since it is modelled off a Disneyland Ride Call the Jungle cruise, but the Question is it any good? Well yes, it great popcorn film very entertaining in parts but the film is very puny excuse the expression. I mean Emily blunt and Dwayne Johnson have great chemistry which makes for the great banter between their character throughout the film, even Jack Whitehall pulled off a great performance as the brother of Emily Blunt character in the movie. There are a few moments where the film is funny, but some jokes were like you typical stupid dad jokes that the younger audience might find funny, but it's kind of done in a charming way where the film know these are bad but doesn't take itself to serious, as there is a moment where the film acknowledges the joke is bad, which is pretty funny. For an Adventure film, it has just enough intense moments as well as a few fantasy moments which is always cool to watch on screen, the Acting performances are great, thanks to good screenwriting, but despite the film is great, there are a few flaws. Dislikes: The film does try to cope with a few films, like a pirate of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and the mummy which is ok but didn't quite hit the mark as those films did, in this film which is a shame because the movie is fun to watch, I just think these areas of the film could've been proved on But it is a film I can recommend watching for a great family film. Film review Black Widow (action/ comic book ) I'll be honest this was more of a Florence Pugh movie than scarlet Johanson black widow, as she carried this film all the way through with an outstanding performance which I feel absolute disappointed for her with the way they butchered one of the most well-known villains in the MCU which was supposed to be Anthony tony masters. while the action scene is great, though some fight scenes used a pet peeve of mind with the shaky camera, the film does start off good, which is a damn shame, since black widow has been an established character throughout the MCU.

Especially when the film shows a whole different life outside the avengers. Bt sadly for me this film was utterly ruined by gender swap a character that been an established male character who a merc for hir that has a photographic memory and to read every move without some tech helping him.

Sadly I honestly can not say this film is anywhere as good as it should've been, that because of the screenwriter's mistake, as I said it felt like Florence Pugh was carrying the whole film through, which showed bad writing when one actress/actor has to carry the film for everyone else.

Dislikes: The film had a great slow start, with great action and plot but marvel feminizing the film will not go down well with Marvel fans gender-swapping one of marvel's biggest villains, which you would think marvel would have learned from their last mistake which made them bankrupt in the first place. with the way one actress is carrying the film, the movie its self was very mediocre, then they went a step further a butcher a major character in the MCU which made it worst, I do feel that if they had just kept the original character of taskmaster this film would have been a lot better, because what they have done made this the weakest Marvel film to date.

I do think it's a film that should've been done before the end game because it feels like a throwaway film to introduce a new female character to the franchise, which I hope is better done this one. verdict: A very disappointing film. no one I can recommend rushing out to see. Film review: Freaky (comedy/horror/thriller) Freaky is a movie that is very similar to Freaky Friday where two people swap bodies and try to find a way to swap back which ends in very funny situations along the way.

with Freaky take that concept and add a horror element to it where a serial killer (Vince Vaughn) swap bodies with a Teenage girl Millie who played by the beautiful Kathryn Newton which end up in a race for time to get millie to get her body back, while the killer is killing teenager left/ right and center.

I will give the film is fair dues, there were moments through this film that made me laugh, especially from Vince Vaughn channeling a teenage girl while looking like a man in his 40s which was hilarious at times with some Awkard moment as well.

Kathryn Newton played the role pretty well channeling the serial killer in a teenage girl, where most of the time s

he does come off well as a killer, but the role tends to fall flat at times. I like the tongue-in-cheek nod to Friday the 13th and Jason Voorhees, which trying to be funny, which few times film was funny where others the film just got overtop stupid which is ok if you like that sort of things in films.

It also uses that cliche think most horrors does where the victim hide thinking the killer moved away, yet find that they haven't which was ok but done before. While I would say that the film is good to watch, it not gonna be a cult classic, but one of those films, you add to your DVD or Blu-ray collection to watch again later, but if worth watching once for Vince Vaughn challenging a teenage girl. Film review: The Tomorrow War (action/sci-fi) After watching the trailer, it does give off the vibe of the flaw in time travel especially when you're fighting for the human race extinction in 30 years time concept, the trailer does make the film look bad.

After watching the film fully I like the way they explain this and in the right ways as well that has nothing to do with time travel itself, it something that explains the concept of this which is something I was hoping they did & I'm glad they did because it would have left the audience hows this concept was gonna work.

Yes, the concept of time travel has been used before in other films, & ya there are just a few moments where the film is flawed especial when it comes to military combat when you fighting something, it when this film true kicks in you're left wondering what they are facing that is about to wipe out the entire planet!

Then the concept of what is wipe out the planet is shown, you're jaw hit the floor, it just the fact they swarm the enemy in droves of enemies, just looking at the creature design and look just one is lethal on it own as they are fast, intelligent and highly lethal at a distance. It's at this point you get it how easy the earth extinction-level is about to happen. Film review: A Quiet place 2 (horror) Wow.....I've got to hand it to Emily Blunt's husband John Krasinski, the first person that directed a film of this type and actually made a sequel of typic work. Normal when it comes to creature film like this it normal a one-off film, because once you see it, they become less frightening which makes the sequel hard to do, but John Krasinski pulls this off by upping the game and making it a much more intense film with a fast action scene of horror. The first Quiet Place film was a massive surprise hit with the audience giving brilliant concepts and creativity with an unseen or unheard in any film before. Some might think that the first film was lightning in a bottle that can't be expanded, but John really set the bar on how to make something like this work. This is Absolute refreshing in sci-horror film, where you can't say that we see it all before type of horror, this is very clever and well-directed to keep the audience glued to the seat, with every sound could bring trouble down on them, and find this concept very refreshing and someone actually using their imagination, put it down on paper and making a film out of a good concept for a movie. While yes you gonna have some people saying that it the same film as the first one, which technically it is because it a continuation of what happened after the first film, while giving the audience an answer to where the hell these things come from, it was done in a clever and frightening way. If you haven't seen this Sequel or the first film, I recommend watching them as they are refreshing and imaginative that never been done before in any other film.

Film Review: THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT (Horror) Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga return as the famous Paranormal hunter's Ed and Lorraine Warren in another Paranormal investigation that was their toughest investigation in Ed and Lorraine lives, sadly both Ed and Lorraine passed away some time ago but their memory lives on with ( Patrick ) Ed and (Vera) Lorriane trying to find out what going on with a family which turns out to be something much more sinister. Throughout the Conjuring universe films from the first Conjuring film to the Annabelle spinoff movies, which some were a hit or miss with some people, but there is always something special about the conjuring films themselves giving a dramatic portrayal of events that have happened over the years to certain families. The first film, it explains a lot about how people end up getting possessed or haunted which set up the whole universe of these films, from a haunting of a witch to the demonic presence of a Demonic nun, this time the film has a little bit of a twist to the story which makes the haunting very difficult to find out what going on. The film itself does a great job with its pacing as the story unfolds, giving the audience a well-balanced story that needs to be paying attention too or you might miss the clues to the film story. While the story at times might not be scary, there are a few moments where the film takes on a very dark atmosphere, with one creeping moment that actually chilled me to the bone which gave this film the edge it needed letting the audience know that watching something far more sinister than a haunting film. Film review: Army of the dead (Horror/action) Army of the Dead you would think not another zombie movie, yet this is no ordinary zombie flick, with Direct Zack Snyder's visual imagination and the visual VX and film crew they have made quite a bloodthirsty thrill ride in the hell of Las vegas overrun not just by zombies but evolved fast things as well.

The Visual FX has gone into making vegas look real on a digital scale, while a lot of the film is practical effects it really blends into this movie making an outstanding visualized film that not only entertaining but also giving a lot of that horror aspect giving the audience one of the of best zombie film to date.

Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Nora Arnezeder, Matthias Schweighöfer, Garret Dillahunt, Tig Notaro, Raúl Castillo give great performances though the film with comical moments and banter throughout the film to break up the tension, especial when this film get Dark.

The story is itself is a very interesting mixture of a heist movie and a zombie flick mixed into one with great visual effects and adding the zombie tiger was a great addition to the film added that extra fear of tension, as well as a pretty brutal scene later in the film.

While you would think that the film is all CGI, actually the only CGI in this movie is the City of Vega, million of zombies, and the Tiger, while 100 of those zombies were actually real actors in makeup and practical effects, which make the film look more realistic and the horse is real as well they designed a special suit for the horse under Animal care personal. Film review: Mortal kombat (fantasy/game adaption) Finally we get to see the new mortal kombat film, but is it any good? I can honestly say yes it's good, but there is room for improvement for a sequel.

The characterizations are insanely good (from costumes to personalities), BUT !!!!! this film is 100% fan service for those that know the lure of the mortal kombat world you probably enjoy it, but you might not like the movie that much as a fan would.

That said the movie does offer great fights as especial with a lot of them not using CGI and using excellent chorography martial ats from some well known martial artist in their own right, Especial with Subzero (Joe Taslim) and scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada) offer some of the best Martial artists moves in samurai sword fighting and kung fu giving the audience entertainment that they will love.

Film Review: Zack Synder cut Justice league (comic book action) First of all I want to say rest in peace Autumn you're father has created one of the best DC films to date.

Five years of a campaign for this version of Zack Synder justice league, but was it worth the wait? Hell yes, it worth waiting for a much superior version to the way joss refilmed this film. This version is a hard-hitting character-driven story that fleshes out the character more especially with Ray fisher's character Cyborg which was ripped from the joss version, which I found after watching this was stupid.

Victor's story is more fleshed out and seeing the father Fuad made the cyborg character more understandable than before, this was given by a great origin story background on how he becomes the machine he becomes to be. which is why personally for me was stupid to take out as this was the heart of the film. Let talk about how badass and menacing Steppenwolf was here, lets face it that dobby-looking Steppenwolf from the original version wasn't scary or menacing at all, here with the voice of Ciarán Hinds and the better-looking Steppenwolf really adds to a world-threatening concept.

This is how you bring the big badass World conquering demon god himself Darkseid to a live-action film, while Ray porter doesn't have many speaking parts, the on-screen presence of Darkseid alone side Granny goodness and Desaad was enough to give the film what it was missing with a darker tone. While the film as a whole is superior in ways, I did find one scene a little cringy but not as bad as joss's version where flash lands on wonder woman with her face in her breast, it was still just a tiny bit cringy. there were areas where things didn't really play out unless they left for a sequel, it's a missed opportunity to put it in the film.

Film Review: Boss Level ( Action/ comedy) I will say this film was thoroughly entertaining, funny and well written, while this does have a concept that has been done, but not as successfully done as this film. This has alot of good action sequences, a few chuckles throughout with a few touching moments, the main part of this movie is Frank Grillo who is in unbelievable shape for 55, brings an absolutely hilarious comedy and playing it to perfection which make his onscreen presence entertaining.

Frank has done a few B movie, but this film is one of those high level movies that worth watching for its action and star power. Especial when he delivers the main guy Boss Level delivering an outstanding performance with blasé deadpan attitude which is very funny - after all he is a guy who was just over it, starting each day, dying, rinse and repeat to the point it driving him nuts.

Mel Gibson is perfect for the Antagonist, he has that certain charm and characteristic, playing a guy you know if you cross he would have you erased, which certainly shows in this film, along with the assassins who have different personality and traits make the villains very funny at times. Will Sasso who normal plays a comedic roles its actually good to see him in a serious role, show his acting skills to play a henchman.

While the film is thoroughly entertaining, throughout the film, i did find the ending lacking writing to give a good ending, i do feel it should have been give a better ending but as for the rest of the film, it was absolute entertaining and the best film ive see in 2021 so far. film review: Monster hunter (Game adaptation) Finally i get to watch this film and see if it worth the watch! while I would say that its entertaining it's not without its flaws and nick picking at certain points that could've made this film alot better for a video game adaptation which is some what faithful to the game.

The organic and humorous interaction between Mila and the nameless "Hunter" which is always good a film, but this film as so many flaws that kind of drag the film down, while amazingly still entertaining.

This is in no way against Mila performance in this film she a great actress, but in typical Paul Anderson fashion he made the film all about her, instead of focusing on the another character which could have been used through the whole film without them being throw away characters, which would have made this film whole lot better as a team up vs monsters film at the beginning.

There were a few action scene ruin with too cuts, but apart from that it was still watchable. would i recommend it ? Film review: willy's wonderland (Horror) Willy's wonderland is it any good ? I'm not gonna fully say yes it good there are some flaws in the writing of this film, while there are some moment that does give you a chuckle with the over the top cheesy horror moment.

Nick cage does a Great job through the whole movie, not speaking at all, its kind of the way he no bothered with what unfolds that give a mystery to his character while he beat the crap of machinal robots.

Film is easy to follow, which give you a feel of five nights at Freddy's with a chucky vibe, there are moments of blood and gore, just outright insane moments, which give great entertainment, but it a love or hate film when it come down to it.

While this film is Complete nuts and off the rails Great to watch, there is a big issue that lets the film down with to much exposition and poor one dimensional characters that do dumb crap that get them self in trouble, i cant help but think the low budget hurts the film.
