i’ve come down with the nastiest headache and i’m in a lot of pain. it’s been a rough few days for me and i’m sorry i haven’t been on. hopefully tomorrow i’ll be feeling better and i can get back to things. sorry guys, a lot of things just hit me at once.

As Ten continued gathering the various dry ingredients she listened to the little anecdote from Celeste’s end. “What had ya hittin’ the road?” Prying was sort of her thing whether it was done with good intentions or not, but in this case she just had a genuine curiosity to learn more about the woman she was quickly learning to call a friend. As she waited for an answer she began to sift everything together and into the bowl. She didn’t have a bad point— starting up a new business was a costly and complicated endeavor. You couldn’t just throw a sign up anywhere and automatically turn a profit. “The clubhouse couch ain’t so bad,” Ten began to joke with the flash of a wink, “just gotta dust the cigarette ash ‘n vulture ass off it first.“ Most of the girls who hung around the Wolves weren’t bad, but there were at least a few she could live without seeing on a daily basis. “One day when you’re ready you just lemme know. Maybe I’ll have struck it rich by then and I’ll invest. You know— just to make sure I get free sweets for life.”
she’d slipped a bit with that-- she wasn’t sure how to go about talking about herself without giving up too much information about her past. why was she working so hard to keep it all in check? because she was afraid of how people would look at her. she’d been really good, lately-- trying to make friends, trying to be less guarded... ❝ just needed to spread my wings, i guess. get away from home and everything else. and then i got here and something just... i’m not sure, but i felt like i should be here. it’s a nice place. ❞ and so far, she wasn’t wrong. it was a good little town; maybe more illegal activity than she’d originally thought, but so far it didn’t impact her negatively... and that was more than enough reason for her to just pretend it didn’t exist. ❝ i’ll get one of those couch covers. like a really thick couch cover. ❞ she laughed, tucking a stray curl behind her ear. ❝ i would happily take you up as my business partner. and please, i could never cheap you out of sweets. ❞

Handing out flyers for her new gym wasn’t ideal for Olivia but she didn’t exactly have the money for other means of advertising and she figured if only a few people came to check it out, they’d tell other people to come down and the word would spread. “Hey, a new gym just opened up, why don’t you com–,” Olivia sighed as the person just walked past her stretched out hand and with a defeated groan, she sat down on a nearby bench. Still holding a flyer out in case anyone was interested, she turned her gaze to the person already on the bench. “Are people allergic to flyers? Because it would seem that way considering I still have 299 flyers left out of the 300 I had printed.”
❝ i think people just assume you’re trying to sell them something. i mean, you are, but i mean like.... the not good for you stuff. the... i have no idea what i’m trying to say. although, i think it’s more the gym people might be allergic too, then the flyers. ❞ she looked over the flyer in her hands, amused smile on her lips. ❝ have you tried passing them out around the community college? i could take some down there when i have class tomorrow, if you want? ❞ she adjusted the strap of her purse as she slipped the folded up flyer inside. ❝ and i’ll probably spend some weekends in the gym. probably. i need to get back in shape. ❞

While he respected that, and somewhat understood, in Teo’s eyes there was too much life waiting to waste time locked away inside of a classroom. “I already found what I like and didn’t need books to figure it out,” easing into the back of the booth to get more comfortable he flashed the smallest grin, “The Devil’s don’t care if you got a diploma or a degree. I learned everythin’ I needed to know the hard way and came out better for it.” Then again, they hardly taught ‘How to Evade Arrest 101′ down at the Clearmont Community College. “Place could use some decent teachers, though. Mi sobrina goes to the elementary school in town ‘n the guy they put at the front of her class is a joke.”
❝ sorry-- i didn’t mean to insinuate you need school. i mean now-a-days you can’t really get a decent paying job unless you go into science or something like that. you guys do pretty good for yourselves. it must be nice, having a big family around like that all the time to help you out. ❞ she missed her family, she couldn’t lie. of course she talked to them nearly every day, but it had been years since she’d seen them. ❝ i know i’m not a fully licensed teacher or anything, but if she ever needs help in any subject, i’d love to help out! i do tutoring over at school for money when i’m not working at at lenny’s. hopefully i can start assisting there when i get to my senior year. ❞
sobs into hands. i did it. i’m back at my dorm. i’m about????? 80% unpacked. i need a break tho im so tired. but hey if anyone wants to plot !! or just wants a closed starter, hmu guys.

A string of chuckles followed in the wake of Celeste’s shock, born straight from Tenley’s lips. “Nope— never. You’d think I lived under a rock or somethin’ all this time.” There was probably a moment in her past when she’d tried something similar, but no matter how hard the blonde thought about it she couldn’t remember. “You know what I have had, though? Chocolate covered graham crackers ‘n chocolate covered potato chips. They’re my all time favorites.” A little shop several towns over that carried them both. Her father used to spoil her rotten with them each time he’d come back from a run. Just thinking about them now nearly had her drooling— enough that she had to force herself to get back on task. “You really should open your own bakery some day, you know that?” It didn’t take a genius to see the brunette knew exactly what she was doing.
❝ oh thank god. my next question was gonna be chocolate covered delights you have or haven’t had. listen. chocolate covered potato chips are what i lived on when i was traveling. which is.... a terrible diet, but whatever. they’re cheap and once i was in a motel room my ass wasn’t moving. okay, that’s a lie. it would move for take out delivery, but otherwise it was me, chocolate covered potato chips and the tv. ❞ more than she’d shared about herself in a long time, celeste was feeling more and more at ease around tenley the more time they spent together. it had been a long time since she’d had a good friend to just hang around with and not have a care. ❝ i would honestly love that.... but maybe after i get tired of teaching. i don’t have the money to open up my own shop... and waiting for the profits to kick in would probably land me on the clubhouse couch. but one day-- and you will def get some free sweets because you will inevitably push me into doing it. ❞

i should be on more tomorrow later in the day and in the days to come; i’m just about all packed for school-- just a few last minute things to do tomorrow before i move back into my dorm. i know i’ve got three replies waiting on me, but if anyone else is interested in plotting hmu! ❝ i’m 25? it’s a summer course. i’m in college-- sorry, i should have said that when you mentioned it before. i just.. skipped over it. ❞ a flush spread across her cheeks, smile soft and tentative as she awkwardly hugged some of her notes to her chest. ❝ i wanna be a teacher. ❞ not sure why she felt the need to explain what she was in college for, but wow she’s suddenly really nervous.

Despite the fact that gaining himself a seat at the table had been his goal all along Teo still felt at least a little bad for forcing her into moving her things around. Then again, it wasn’t like he’d held a gun to her head. She’d offered all on her own without even a hint of persuasion from his lips. As his head dipped with a nod the man slid into the opposite side of the booth and folded his hands on table top. Right from the start it sounded like something he wouldn’t be able to manage his way through. His intelligence always came more from experience than school books. “Honestly? Not sure I’d be able t’do it. If I was in your shoes I’d be enjoyin’ the break, not buried in a pile’a books. Good for you, though. Ambtion’s a good thing t’have.”
❝ honestly? i’d love a break too-- but i’d much rather get this done sooner rather than later. if taking summer classes means i can finish a year earlier, then i’ll take it. ❞ she pulled her hair away from her face before hands fell to rest in her lap and she leaned back against the booth. she did need a little break, why not take it now and get to know Teo a little better? if she and brody lasted, it was important she got to know the others. ❝ i think you could do it, you’d just have to find something you like-- i wanna teach little kids, have for a long time. i find that if you really love something, it’s quite fun. ❞

Tenley couldn’t predict the future, but she sincerely hoped their relationship worked out. Lord knew Brody deserved a good woman at his side and, from what she’d seen of Celeste so far, she wagered a guess that she just might be it. Continuing to smile as she grabbed a set of measuring cups she scooped out the required cocoa powder and dumped it into the bowl. “You’re more than welcome to drop by any time— treats or no treats.” Honestly, the company would’ve been welcome. For somebody constantly surrounded by other people it was astonishing how often Ten felt alone. “Chocolate and popcorn all at the same time?” She finally repeated back a moment later as her gaze traveled over to the other woman’s face. “Can’t say that I have. It sounds really good, though.”
❝ wait-- hold up. you’ve never dumped chocolate candies into your popcorn? oh man. i have... i have so much to teach you, tenley. like, you just can’t go through life and and not try that deliciously salty sweet combination! ❞ she shook her head, returning with a steaming cup of coffee. ❝ but cake first -- okay, so what we do is... all the dry ingredients get whisked together, i’ll melt the butter in the hot coffee and the rest of the wet ingredients get mixed together. ❞ she spoke as she pulled the pans they’d be using out from under the counter and started to cut up the parchment paper. ❝ then we sloooowly add the wet ingredients. half the coffee, half the buttermilk, then repeat. then we bake that delicious concoction and wait agonizingly for it to cook. ❞
i have so much packing to do yet here i am, laying in bed, watching disney movies, attempting replies and not giving a damn.

❝ i better! I refuse to have a bad grade tarnish my reputation. ❞ she hummed into the kiss before she slid herself onto the bike, helmet on tight and her arms wrapped about his midsection. when she first started dating brody, she was admittedly a little afraid to get on the bike-- but now she loved it. she’d come to enjoy that little rush of adrenaline. though, she should probably stop wearing dresses when he took her out on the bike, shorts or jeans would probably be more appropriate. she pulled off her helmet once they arrived and did her best to shake out her hair and fix it before taking his hand so he could lead her inside. ❝ this place is really cute. you gonna be able to make it through dinner? ❞ she grinned up at him, teasing.
