calliehayes:
Callie had just finished with her shift at the strip club and was about to head back to her pickup truck, affectionately named Old Betsy, when she heard a voice, a very familiar voice that she hadn’t heard in a long while. “Yeah, I just… finished,” Callie answered, showing him a curious look. It wasn’t lost on her that there was a reason why she and Brody didn’t really talk that much, and that was because it was so hard to stay friends with your ex, especially when there was still some bitterness being harbored in her heart because of the reason why everything ended between the both of them. It was a long time ago though, more or less five years ago, and she didn’t want to be seen as the bitter ex-girlfriend anyways so even though she was tired from her shift and still a little confused as to why he was talking to her, she wanted to play nice, mostly for her sake rather than his. “Did you come from inside? I didn’t see you there, but are you on your way home as well? I mean, you have to be, since we closed up for the night already,” she said, her hands fidgeting with the keys she held. Perhaps he was drunk and that’s why he was talking to her? Maybe he was just on a ride for the night and spotted her? Maybe he really just wanted some small talk with an ex? Who was she to judge if it was any of those reasons? “Is everything okay?”
he could feel how heavy the conversation had gotten very quickly, and with good reason - the amount of times they’d talked in recent years could probably be boiled down to a casual pass on the street and now and again he’d see her around with Dom. when they’d broken up, he was gutted for a long while and though they were both adults - it was just easier to pretend that the past wasn’t really there anymore and that they didn’t really know each other. “ yeah, i was inside for a bit, couple of the guys wanted to go down to the strip club and i had to make sure they didn’t blow all their money or whatever it is they do in there. “ he let out a bit of a chuckle, looking back at his bike for a moment before shaking his head. brody was very glad he’d not drank very much at this point, that probably would have made this whole thing a lot worse. “ someone fucked with my bike,” he started, and immediately was mad again about the situation. “ you think you’re heading in the way of the club? “ arching a brow, fuck he didn’t want to be asking her this - but he needed to grab one of the trucks from the club to bring his bike home for a new tire in the morning. “ if ya are, you think i could grab a ride with you? “ physically cringing at his own words a bit, before shoving his hands into the pocket of his leather vest. “ sorry about askin’ ya, by the way. “
tcnleywarden:
Tenley’s blue orbs had been fixed solely on the amber liquid filling the bottom of her own glass, but they immediately widened to the point of damn near popping out of her head as Brody shared the tale. “You’re kiddin’ me…” By her expression alone it was clear to see she was blown away by the news. It took a brave man - or a downright stupid one - to mess with someone’s bike— especially when that very same man happened to be President of the Desert Wolves. Popping a tire was the same thing as signing your own death wish. For as long as she’d known Brody ( which was an awfully long time if she added it all up ) she’d known he wasn’t the kind of man who’d ever tolerate that kind of disrespect. “I’ll keep my ears open ‘n if I hear anyone braggin’ about it I’ll drag their ass right to your feet.” Underestimating her loyalty to the people she cared about, or her ability to put someone in their place, was an all too common mistake. Blowing out a soft breath after than she offered no more than a small smile and shook her head. “I’m as fine as I always am. Probably gotta start lookin’ for real work here soon, though. My old man only put aside so much for me and lord knows my mom ain’t helpin’ any time soon. I need to strike out on my own for real this time.”
without a lie he was still in shock that someone would have done anything to his bike, everyone in town would be able to tell which was his - not a doubt, and anyone with even half a brain would know what would happen if they got caught doing what they had done. there was residual anger about the situation, despite him having replaced his tire already. “ there is no way someone is that stupid, i wanted to think i had run over something - no doubt this was intentional, don’t know who lost their braincells but if i find out who, they’re going to wish they had none at all. “ it was a pretty deep threat, but the embarrassment of having to haul his bike home while somebody was probably off laughing about it, left the most sour taste in his mouth. “ that’s why i keep you around ten, you’re far too good to me. “ he motioned for another drink from the bartender, while listening to her. there was a lot of admiration he had for tenley, she’d always been a very strong girl and he was lucky to have seen her grow up and be apart of her life. “ i’ll help ya find some work when you need it, we’ll even try to keep it legal for you too, feels like the cops might be getting strict around here - been getting a little thicker than it used to be, clearmont definitely isn’t what it used to be. “ he said with a shrug, pulling back a small bit of his drink.
rinaprior:
After the showdown that happened last night, it was no surprise that Rina wanted nothing more than to just hole herself up at her place and have a Disney movie marathon with her daughter, but it seemed like the universe wasn’t going to give her what she wanted, not this morning when she woke up and Lily wanted a specific type of cereal that they just ran out of. Rina managed to intake a cup of coffee to keep her sanity with her as she and Lily drove to the supermarket to get that cereal her daughter wanted and it was there that Rina bumped into Brody, someone she could respect from afar since he willingly agreed to her plan of not telling Woody about her pregnancy and about Lily in general while he had been in jail. “Do not tell me that I look like crap because I know it, I feel it, and I don’t need you to point it out,” Rina muttered as she ran a hand through her curly hair and asked the question that had been tormenting her since last night. “Woody’s pissed as fuck. That’s not even a question, because I know it. I know him. You know him, but is he… I mean, how’s he… taking it?” Rina asked, her voice low, as she held on tightly to Lily’s hand.

after the night brody woke up a bit sluggish, as much as he hated it - he was getting older, and maybe drinking as much as he did when he was twenty wasn’t the best idea for him. it was all in fun, until he woke up and realized he was fresh out of coffee, making him quick to head out and grab some more coffee beans from the supermarket. wandering down one of the isles, rina caught his eye from the side - he’d known the woman a while, and knew just by the way she looked, she’d told woody at the party. he gave her a nod when she first spoke, “ wouldn’t have dreamed of pointing that out - it looks like you had a rough night. “ it was the obvious, but he said it anyways. thinking back, brody hadn’t really spoken to woody much, not yet at least - not since they got high at the party. “ he seemed a little stressed out, but i don’t think it’s something you’ll have to worry about for long. “ he hesitated for a moment, “ he’s not going to stay mad at you, he can’t. if anything, he’d be more angry at me than you, were brothers and i kept something really big from him. it was for the best, but it would be hard to see it that way... if i was in his position at least.” brody gave a small wave to lily, before crossing his arms over his chest. “ it’s a lot to take in, especially just getting out of the pen. “

With the last bag of trash carried off by one of the prospects their clubhouse was finally clean— or at least as clean as the space was ever going to get with a bunch of men running the show. There were probably a few empty beer bottles tucked away in a forgotten corner that they’d discover days from now, but for all intents and purposes the place was back to normal. “That was one hell of a party,” Dom mused with a silent laugh lighting up his face as he dropped down into the chair nearest Brody, “Knew it was gonna be big but I don’t think even I expected that kind of turn out.” By the size of the crowd it looked as if the entire town showed up; honestly, they probably had. It wasn’t often the doors to the Wolves clubhouse opened to everybody and they all wanted a chance to see a day in the life. “Everythin’ get taken care of with that call last night?”
it was still early morning - well almost afternoon now, but if brody was honest, unless necessary, that was morning for him. the clubhouse was surprisingly more trashed than usual after parties, and he’s pretty sure he saw one of the prospects pick up a tooth - not surprising, but it just shows how well it went last night. “ sure was, you do anything good last night? “ he said with a laugh, grabbing one of the last couple beers from the bar fridge, and holding out another one for dom. “ it’s the mystery of it all, people show up because they want to try and see what we do in here all day, they’re as good as leeches - so even if they don’t know woody overly well, they’re gonna show up anyways. still, he deserved that kind of party - that long in the pen, can’t be good for ya. poor guy needed some drinks and charred burgers to even begin to shake it off. “ brody gave a nod, before hoping up onto the bar, “ yeah, we have a pickup coming in but the location changed - they were worried it might have been intersected by another group - they know the last thing they want is me mad for any type of incompetence. “

❝ i am gonna ace this date. ❞ how could a man that looked like him be so cute? when she’d first met him, she’d imagined he was far more terrifying. ❝ ya know there’s no reason to try and woo me, right? pretty sure ya already got me. ❞ she took the helmet from him and slipped it on, buckling the strap under her chin. ❝ you better learn i am not easily swayed from my studies. you’re gonna have to wait until i’m done to get me in bed. ❞ she grinned, pressing a kiss to his cheek. ❝ my goal was helmet hair to complete this outfit. so this is exactly how i planned it. ❞ she grinned, waiting for him to get on the bike before she slipped on behind him. ❝ lets get outta here, i’m actually starving. ❞
“ i don’t think i’ll be grading you, but i have no doubt in the mine that you’ll ace it. “ wrapping his hand around her waist for a moment to pull his in and give her a kiss on the forehead. “ i’m not gonna stop the charm just because i already got you, it’d be counter productive, also how else am i going to make sure you’re entire focus is on me and not that silly textbook you’ve lost. “ giving her a sly wink before strapping his own helmet on and slipping onto the bike, “ as you wish, “ kickstarting the bike as they rolled out towards the restaurant. up until recently, the man hadn’t really had anyone on the back of his bike - he didn’t often lend out rides, even to girls that he was picking up - so it was a comforting feeling to have someone he trusted on the back. they pulled up and he parked the bike, holding out his hand for her after she’d gotten off.
downing the shot of whiskey with ease the man turned over the glass, setting it on the warn down bar top of the local bar, before turning back to tenley. He’d been there most of the woman’s life, watching her grow up she was very much like family too him - and outside of the club and his own sister - she was definitely the closest thing too it. leaning back against his elbows, “alright so the other night i was on my way home from being out, and someone actually punctured my tire - if i ever find out who it was - they’re a dead man walking.” he rambled for a moment longer, ordering another double of whiskey - and drinking it slowly this time, it was pretty much the best you could get at a dive bar around here. “anyways, how are you, T?”
@tcnleywarden
the few drinks in his system wavered his walking as he and a few other walked out of the strip club - he wasn’t really one to go there, not anymore at least but some of the younger guys still found their way to coax him out. walking out to their bikes, brody leaned on the seat of his, bringing a smoke up to his mouth, when he felt a bit of uneven pressure. he knew his bike inside and out, even a few drinks wouldn’t change that - he built the damn thing. it only took a moment for him to realize that one of his tired had been punctured, he didn’t want to assume it was someone intentional but there was a clear hole that wasn’t there before. “fuck!” he shouted out, fuming almost immediately. not sure who would have done something like that, but he didn’t give a shit. after a few moments, he told those he was with that he was going to walk back to the club - there was no way in hell the president of the dessert wolves was going to be caught on the back of another mans bike. that’s when he caught someone in his side view, she must’ve just gotten on her shift, swallowing his pride he walked over to her - smoke still in hand. they didn’t talk much anymore, and still he wasn’t really in any position to be asking for a favour, but it was a fair walk back to anywhere with a spare tire. “Hey, callie - just getting out of work?” giving her a courteous smile.

❝ i got a final coming up for this summer course. i wanna do really well on it. ❞ he was right, though. she had some time left, she could find it after dinner. ❝ and don’t think i didn’t miss you checking me out– definitely saw that. ❞ she snagged her purse off the bed and made her way over to him, leaning up on her toes to press a kiss to his cheek. ❝ alright casanova– let’s get outta here before i turn this into a study date. ❞ she grabbed for his hand before pulling him towards the exit.
“ but we’ve got a date right now, that i would also like you to do really well on. “ brody gave a nod when she called him out, bringing his hands to cross over his chest for a brief moment. “ i was hoping you would notice that, not trying to hide the fact that i definitely think you look amazing. “ he gripped her hand, their fingers loosely interlocking as he followed behind her in long strides. “ i never studied, never even heard of a study date that didn’t go in a completely opposite direction, so you’d be pretty hard pressed to do that. “ pausing for a moment, he leaned over his bike grabbing the other helmet and holding it to her, “ hope you weren’t too keen on your hairstyle, or are you not gonna wear it again? “
HEY dudes, i hate making open starters ( i’ll reply to the ones in tag tho obvs ) but lms for a closed starter !!

❝ hey! i’m all ready to go, i just need to…. figure out where my textbook went. did i leave it at the clubhouse? because i swear it was in my backpack and i can’t find it. ❞ she lets out a little whine, heel stomping on the ground as she looks around her. the living room? a mess. papers were scattered, laptop sat open on the coffee table and she had large textbooks scattered across the couch. ❝ at least i remembered to change this time– this dress looks okay, right? ❞
“ you might have left it at the clubhouse, i wouldn’t put it past you with how scattered you seem right now. “ brody noted as he walked in the door, he’d asked cel out to diner tonight nothing too fancy - just one of the better restaurants in town - seeing as nothing around here was too fancy anyways. “ that dress looks more than okay, way more than okay.” giving a smirk, the man leaned against the the opening of the living room, pushing his hands into the pocket of his vest. “ you don’t need to worry about the text book right now, we can find it later, babe. “

–––– woody was a sucker for parties, especially ones that had vultures hanging off of him trying to heal his broken jail bird soul. it was a good home coming to be sure, hell, half a beer and some buffalo wings would be one hell of a step up from the joint. as much as he loved the attention, and boy did he, woody needed a brief break. and though it had taken a while, the overwhelming nature of his release began to set in. he roamed out the back of the club house, noting the new pictures on the walls as he went when he noticed brody. ❛ never stops, huh? you know, you better take it easy, boss, you’ll send yourself grey. ❜ the joint was pulled and in an instant woody decided there was nowhere else he had to be. ❛ jesus, i ain’t had this shit in so long, best i can hope for is not gigglin’ like a school girl. ❜ woody laughed. for a moment, awkwardness hung in the air, at least on his part. he was back home, but shit wasn’t how he left it and the brody he sat with now, wasn’t the same president he’d known. adjustments had never come easy to the woodstocks.
brody was more than happy to have woody home, they’d been patched together for quite sometime now - and he’s sure it’s a bit off putting for the other man that he was president now, it happened about a year after woody had gone to prison that brody had taken over the club. “ i’m gonna look good when i have grey hair, don’t you even worry about that, woody... but no it never stops, they’ve got like three of my cell phone numbers.” He laughed lightly, before checking the twist on the joint, holding it out to him to have the first hit. “well consider it your welcome back gift then, you get the first hit and can share as you please. I’ll make sure to cover up the giggles are you’re just drunk, less embarrassing that way. ” brody chuckled, he was trying not to feel awkward about the situation, he wasn’t really - but so much had changed, he definitely was a lot different than before woody went in.
ofcmcsons:
mason had been outside for most of the evening. he was one to enjoy a proper club party, but after a couple shooters and an endless supply of beers later, a little bit of fresh air was what the sergent at arms needed. he was thankful that one of his brothers had returned home, understanding more than most about how precious freedom truly was. he knew what it was like on the inside, which made him appreciate life on the outside that much more. he had a half empty bottle of beer down by his side as he approached his president, a smile soon forming at the corners of his lips after the comment he had made to the person on the other end of the phone call. whatever it was he knew brody was having none of it; especially on a night like this. “when do they ever?” he sat the bottle down on the nearest surface and nodded his head firmly at his request, reaching for the lighter he had in his pocket and offering it to his president. “was that anything important?”
the man gave a shrug, while the phone call was relatively important - it wasn’t something that couldn’t have waited till the following morning, as these type of affairs always seem to work themselves into place - the president definitely made sure of that. “it was just about a pick up changing location for tomorrow evening, they could have waited.” he said with a huff, though he was mostly cooled off, it didn’t really take away much of his time - he wanted to spend time with his club as an entirety, all of them back together was something they’d been missing for a very long time and to have a non serious time together, was refreshing. pinching the blunt to make sure it was rolled properly, he sparked the end up took a long hit before handing it over to his sergeant in arms. “ditching out on the party, or are you trying to hear my phone calls mason? could’a been a dirty one, you wouldn’t have known.” lightly teasing him, before leaning against the wall and drinking from his beer.
