Tomorrow!! The weather looks lovely and the vibes are fantastic!!!
This is a family friendly event, so I wont have my slur reclamation on display, but I will have them with me! If you want to see them, just ask!
Anyone mind if a bitch waxes poetic about his art for a minute?
See, the thing is, I don't consider most of what I make to be finished art pieces. They're not done because I can't finish them alone.
The point of reclaiming slurs, to me, is to find pride in the words. To look your oppressors dead in the eye and say "So what if I am?"
When I make something like my Dyke patch, I think about the times in my life when the label dyke has resonated with me, and I think about the wonderful dykes I have known in my life, and the beautiful dykes I have seen through the internet. I hold all of those people and all that me in my heart together and I choose every single piece of the design to make it feel empowering for them to wear.
And that's exactly it! The patch isn't the art. The art is the act of wearing the damn thing!
The art is the act of reclamation, of empowerment. The art is the act of putting so much time and love into creating a permanence for this label. The art is the act of wearing the label and glowing with pride. The art is the mere existence of this patch I made on another's clothing proving that there's two of us. We are reclaiming this slur. We are fighting for our space in the world. We are here for each other.
The art has to be made together.
Got the base sketch done! Now i've just gotta transfer it to a block and do my best at carving it. That text is NOT going to be easy
Hello! I'm a western MA local, and recently came across your patches. I was wondering if you'll be at any upcoming shows or fairs? (Didn't find any info with a quick search, but I've been known to miss the obvious.)
Hi!! Yes!! Thank you for asking!!! I have two markets coming up!!
I will be at the Greenfield Bee Fest on May 16th!
(The website also mentioned some free seeds and seedlings to encourage more gardens in the area!)
And I will be at Holyoke Pridefest on June 27th!
I am really excited that I got into this one, because Holyoke Pride is my absolute favorite Pride in the area <3 <3 <3
I'm also applying to basically every single Pride I can make it to, so hopefully I'll have more to share by June!
You happened to catch me while I'm working on a patch for bee fest, so wip under the cut!!
What does it mean that i only ever get requests for She/They and They/He but never He/They or They/She?
Which phrase should I make into block printed patches for Bee Fest?

The Iced T Shots are coming along nicely 👍
My newest patch design, Iced T Shots!
ive been working so very hard on designing a new patch, but now that the design is done and its time to test stitch, im terrified. what if it doesn't work at all!? what if I have to start over?? what if nobody likes it???
this process is sort of like adding lineart to your sketch, except you dont actually get to see the lineart while youre drawing it. And then you have to watch the lineart stitch out for an entire hour before you can change anything about it at all.
dont worry tho because he is beautiful!!

I just found this old page of TAZ Balance sketches that I never posted. I think I drew these right before the finale.
Hello, fellow Massholes!
I most sell locally at markets and festivals, but I'm working on getting my stuff on Etsy. Everything I sell will be much cheaper in person, so come find me! I'll post about every event I'll sell at here and on my Instagram. I hope to see you around!
i misread someone's bag the other day...
