They finally reach the coast and one of them discovers how much they love the ocean but hate the sand. Jayce's struggle with the thorn the Mage put in his mind starts bubbling over again, and things suddenly start going downhill really fast.

Rocky starts a conversation that doesn't go as planned, the handheld spectrometer traumatizes Grace yet again with readings that cannot be true but are, and Simon wakes up choosing violence.

Grace is being plagued by bloody nightmares that he can barely remember, while Rocky is doing everything he can to keep his friend sane. The Hail Mary is hit by a wave of something horrifying, and the two go to investigate a tiny, derelict ship to see if they can find some answers. Grace realizes his nightmares may actually be an important clue.
