The Legend Of Zelda
After Zelda starts crying at the Spring of Power, Link turns to her before his memory fades. I hope he comforted her in that moment
The Froggy Prince

Link stared at the seemingly dead frog, quickly wiping away the lingering mucus that came from the frog’s lips from his own, a sweatdrop rolling down the side of his head as he too waited for any kind of response. Maybe this frog really was a prince? He only knew of a princess of this land.
His eyebrows slightly knit into a frown at the dejected expression on the doll’s face before he jumps in surprise at the shrill croak that escaped the once-lifeless frog, taking a step towards quickly to catch the frog, but unfortunately it disappears into the grass before he’s able to catch it.
“…” another sweatdrop rolls the side of his head as the moment of silence passes between the two of them. He perks up at her words, before he rubs the back of his neck and smiles apologetically. He didn’t think it was going to work in the first place, but he felt bad that this girl had been let down.
A sheepish smile curls onto the blond’s lips and he nods at her words, his smiling turning warmer and less nervous when the doll perks her head up towards him. He thinks about it for a minute before nodding firmly at her question. He did indeed believe magic was real, perhaps not magic that could turn a prince into a frog, but magic was magic.
The rag doll performed a little hop of joy, clasping her hands as a beaming smile appeared on her features. “I knew it! You look pretty magical already!” Given his attire, Clementine had to wonder if this man was some sort of traveler or explorer. His clothes seem very suited for that type of purpose. Lots of pouches, belts, and those leather things to protect the arms. “Hmm…almost like a fairy tale character!”
The fact that Link was a real-life knight never crossed the child’s mind. For her, knights were only seen in full fledged armor…
“What’s your name mister? I don’t want to forget you.” Her question was innocent enough, but beneath her words was a more secret intention. Clementine was aware that this stranger hasn’t spoken a single word to her. He only communicated through gestures and facial expression. Not that Clementine minded however. She was just curious at this point if he really can speak. If he couldn’t, that was fine too. It wouldn’t be the first time she’s encountered someone like that.
Link rubbed the back of his neck at the way the doll gave him a beaming smile and seemed to believe that he himself was magical. He slightly shakes his head and waves his hand, trying to communicate that he wasn’t actually magical, but rather he believed in magic. He supposed Sheikah technology could be seen as magic? But, he wasn’t a Sheikah, just someone who inherited a piece of their technology to help him along his journey.
He perks up at her question, and knowing that there wasn’t really any other way to communicate the answer, he straightens up his body and speaks softly. “Link,” he replies short and sweetly, his voice quiet yet level and calm. It wasn’t like he was unable to speak; he has never lost his voice nor did he damage it, he merely just preferred not speaking if the situation enabled him to. “Yours?” he inquires towards the doll just as softly as before.
Happy Holidays!

Link bites his lip as the doll gives an eager nod, confirming that she did, in fact, want him to kiss this frog, who again seemed rather stressed and in discomfort. Really, he felt pity for this poor frog and he wanted to decline, but this doll looked so cute and very eager, and he didn’t have the heart to say no to her.
He gulps as she holds out the frog towards him, staring into its beady eyes before gathering up all the courage he could. He had the vaguest of memories that someone tried to do the same thing to him before, perhaps maybe even try to make him eat it, but for now he pushes that as a thought for later and squeezes his eyes shut, quietly apologizing to the frog in his mind before he forces his lips onto its own.
It was at that moment where the frog decided to play dead. It stopped moving, going completely still and stiff once more as Clementine’s eyes bore intensely into it’s being. She was trying to see if any change occurred in the creature. Anything at all.
But to her disappointment…nothing happened. The rag doll’s face showed one of despondency as she looked back up to the stranger, her grip on the frog loosening ever so slightly.
That was enough for it to escape. With a shrill croak, the tiny being leaped out of the child’s hands, causing her to yelp in surprise as it bounced off her head and back onto the ground.
There was a small stretch of silence in the air, no words or actions taking place as the creature finally disappeared among the grass and into a nearby pond.
“…I don’t think Mr. Hoppy was a prince. Oh well.” Clementine gave a shrug along with her statement, seeming to not mind at all about the outcome. She’s encountered many frogs who weren’t princes to being with, so this really wasn’t anything new.
Finally addressing the man once again, she gave a sheepish smile that almost held a somewhat apologetic nature to it. “Well…at least we tried. Imagine if he was a prince. You would’ve saved him with your magic kiss. But since he wasn’t one…uh…”
Deciding to go to a different subject, the doll perked her head up as a cheery tone entered her voice. “I like you mister! Not everyone wants to kiss a frog when I ask them to. But the people who do kiss them usually believe in magic! You must believe in magic, right?”

Link watches the small doll run over to the frog with widened eyes, his mind still taking quite some time to process what he was witnessing at the moment. A sweatdrop rolls down his head as he sees just how uncomfortable the amphibian seemed to feel, but he doesn’t say anything and instead watches the girl–doll trot back up to him.
He blinks at her words but gives a slow nod as his response. A spell? Did she mean like, the kind of spell that turned men into frogs? He was pretty sure that was a fairy tale, though…
His eyes snapped open at the request, his face turning the slightest bit pale at the thought of kissing the amphibious creature, and one glance at it made him sure that the frog definitely didn’t want to be kissed by him either, or at least that’s what he thought from gazing into its own wide eyes.
He feels bad outrightly refusing this doll, though, so he points to the frog and then to himself as if to ask if she’s really sure he should be the one to kiss it.
Clementine continued to look up to the man with anticipating eyes, now even more curious if her theory was correct or not. Mr. Hoppy on the other hand, twitch a leg in discomfort, wanting to see if he was strong enough to kick the cloth hands away and escape. But alas, it seemed like he wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
As the rag doll watched the strangers gestures, she began to notice that so far, he hasn’t said a verbal word towards her. Maybe he was shy? Or maybe he just liked quiet things? Because of that, she decided to answer him with no words as well, nodding her head with a grin as she held out the frog further towards him.

Link’s eyes grow wide when he suddenly feels something wrap around his leg, his head immediately darting downwards in alarm. His sapphire-blue eyes grow wide at the sight of what seemed to be a doll clinging to him, which was quite a shocking sight, especially since it seemed to be talking to him.
The first thought that immediately came to him was how could a doll be talking to him?? But, with the distress that was clearly written all over the doll’s face, he takes a second to process her words. Mr. Hoppy..he didn’t have any memories of his childhood, but he was pretty sure that “Mr. Hoppy” was a nickname of sorts for a frog. Could that be what this..doll was searching for?
Reluctant to take his eyes off of the doll in fear that she might just disappear, he looks around the field in search for a frog of any sorts. After a few seconds, he spots a small frog commonly found in tall grass to be hopping along a short distance from where they were. He points to it and looks down at the doll as a way to say that the frog she may be searching for was over there.
Her blue eyes slowly followed the direction that the man was pointing in, and soon enough, she saw the familiar frog perform a large hop in an attempt to get away.
“Oh! There you are!” Immediately, the doll ran off towards the creature, picking it up as it went stiff in self defense. She seemed extremely happy, a huge contrast to how the amphibian was feeling.
“You found him!” Clementine cheered as she trotted back to the knight, holding out her hands to show the small creature in her grasp. “Thank you mister! Now I just gotta find someone who can break Mr. Hoppy’s spell!”
Suddenly, an idea came to the rag doll as she continued to glance up at the man. Usually, a princess was preferred in these types of situations, but Clementine has learned that rules in fairy tales can be bend. It was far fetch, even for her, but…it couldn’t hurt to try, right?
“…Do you wanna kiss him? Maybe you’re the special one who can break the spell. I already tried, and it didn’t work.”
Mr. Hoppy then looked up to the stranger with large, beady eyes, giving off a silent plead for death’s sweet embrace.

Link was collecting different flowers around the field of grass when he heard a rather small voice call out to someone. Both intrigued and curious, the knight walked in the direction of where he thought he heard the voice, though he never thought to look down in the grass, so he didn’t see the rag doll hopping about in the grass.
Clementine’s eyes were stilled glued to the ground, searching hard for whatever she has lost. The only thing that caused her gaze to go up was the sound of new footsteps approaching her.
With a worried gasp, the doll immediately ran over and wrapped her arms around one of the stranger’s legs, looking up to him with alarm. “Look out! You might step on Mr. Hoppy!”
Normally, Clementine would try to introduce herself first before making physical contact with someone new. But this was an urgent matter! This man could’ve crushed poor Mr. Hoppy with his big shoes! Granted, she still didn’t know where he ran off too, but the girl had a feeling he was still somewhere among the tall grass.
