Y’know I wanna see what that kid is gonna be like in his teenager years.
Because Prince King George is amazing. And adorable. And totally unrelated to FR.

Audra McDonald singing Maybe This Time. Her phrasing in the last verse, particularly the last two lines, can be used in a masterclass. I last heard this song sung by Liza Minnelli methinks, and before that Patti Lupone. Minnelli plays it wistful with raspy age, Lupone does hers rich in bitterness. Mcdonald appears to have gone for hysterical desperation.
Edit: … and so, it appears that my brain played a trick on me. Lupone probably didn’t sing this, but I can’t rem who did, for there to be an angry bitter version in my memory. I’d have said Ruthie Henshall, but I haven’t seen her live since… erm…. since….

Get to Know Me Meme || (1/5) favourite royal palaces: Château de Versailles (France)
Château de Versailles is a palace located in the city of Versailles. It was the home for the royal family of France from 1682 to 1789.
The Baroque style of architecture characteristic of Versailles Palace impresses people by its luxury, with colossal murals, rows of monumental statues, and an immense collection of fine furniture inside the palace. The stunning geometric design of the garden and the great fountain outside in the yard. The scale and style of the place shows the world without doubt about the power, the glory, and the wealth of the French monarchy in that period of French history. Mark Twain said of it, “You gaze, and stare, and try to understand that it is real, that it is on the earth, that it is not the Garden of Eden…” (x)

I wanted to make a strong mother character. The portrayal of women in epic fantasy has been problematical for a long time. These books are largely written by men but women also read them in great, great numbers. And the women in fantasy tend to be very atypical women… They tend to be the woman warrior or the spunky princess who wouldn’t accept what her father lays down, and I have those archetypes in my books as well. However, with Catelyn there is something reset for the Eleanor of Aquitaine, the figure of the woman who accepted her role and functions with a narrow society and, nonetheless, achieves considerable influence and power and authority despite accepting the risks and limitations of this society. - GRRM on Catelyn Stark
