“To new beginnings “
Sorcha,” he whispered, and realized that he had called her so a moment before. Now, that was odd; no wonder she had been surprised. It was her name in the Gaelic, but he never called her by it. He liked the strangeness of her, the Englishness. She was his Claire, his Sassenach. And yet in the moment when she passed him, she was Sorcha. Not only “Claire,” it meant—but light.
I love that Jamie suddenly decides to call Claire by her Gaelic name after so many years. It proves-as Jamie states- that he always was fascinated and excited her outlandish quality. Though, he still has a name for her in his default language, his first language, to show that he thinks of her as a part of him and his nature. Scotland and Gaelic will always be where his roots lie, so he needs a word for his biggest root, Sorcha. (via sapphiresassenach)
I’m back
Strange, how it’s the simple things that linger in memory over time. The way he rubbed the sleep from his eyes like a child, or the way he always shaved from the left side working to the right, or the careful way he formed the pleats of his kilt while getting dressed.

To which filly does Jamie refer? He certainly seems to admire Claire’s spirit (and she his). “That’s always a good thing.”

Well, Randall had your body, but I’ll be damned if he has your soul as well! You’re mine. And we are meant to be together. You belong to no one else but me. And I belong to you. Nothing will ever change that. You’re mine.
