This year was my first time doing art fight! (but certainly not the last!!) here's what i've learnt from it. Mainly, I'm very proud of myself and grateful I had a friend to rely upon. Also, I think it gave me more confidence!

Cover : My first year of art fight!

Panel 1 : Things that made me want to try art fight this year. I finally got a tab! and the famous app! But most importantly, i got a friend to team up with!

Panel 2 : Things I've learnt. To work with different brushes according to the style (ft pelion, bronzewing, lichen and ravenswood brushes). I also tried watercolour, paint and charcoal for the first time, meaning I stepped out of my comfort zone... even when it was scary.

Panel 3 : I have a process??? (apparently) 1. SKETCH. deciding on a pose and understanding perspective and the character. 2. CLEAN SKETCH. I trace my original sketch until I'm satisfied with it, it then becomes my outline.

Panel 4 : 3. COLOURING. 1. base colours. 2. 1 colour = 1 clipping mask (+ name and group all masks). 3. "shading" 4. CLEANING & BACKGROUND. The most relawing part!

Panel 5 : "toolbox" layer that i keep in every illustration, containing the brushes and setup I'll be using. I also like drawing hair with a thicker brush and make the character as fluffy as the OG design allows. Also, backlighting is fun, actually???

Panel 6 : What I'd like to leanr next. Anatomy :'(. Lighting ! Do more reproducing ! And maybe even try making an animatic!

Panel 7 : My artfight in numbers: 10 attacks, including 5 regular attacks and 5 friendly fires. 11 characters attacked. 686.5 points scored. 63 hours spent drawing. That's more than I thought I'd do!

ATTACK!! 💥🤖

this is Eclipse, for @shye-eclipse ! My first time drawing mech! They were so fun to draw, i love their shapes and i had fun with the dynamic poses even though they gave me a lot of work. Not too satisfied with the lack of coherence in the lighting but hey.

Gonna give my best for this last week, I HOPE MYSTERY GETS TRAGEDY, IT'S STILL POSSIBLE

👹👯⚡DOUBLE ATTACK!!! wait... what?

This piece is half of the combined attack I made with @axellejpeg on ZoeKust' s characters : Zoe and Edgar!

We're the mystery team INSIDE Team Mystery, we are... DOUBLE TROUBLE!!

This was very cool to make, I think I'm starting to like working with backlighting! And I'm very proud of the final result + the whole piece with Edgar!!

🐻 BEAR ATTACK (again!)

Samuel, for Schnecki ! His story is that the souls of his previous owners keep on living within him... I thought it was such an interesting idea! The shapes in the mirror are supposed to represent that.

I have already done more attacks than I ever thought I'd do so!! I'm proud of that :3 still got a some more in store 👀

(tried watercolour on this one, to give a winnie the pooh vibe. This was REALLY tricky but I like that I get to step out of my comfort zone and try different styles!)

Tbh I finished this past midnight, my eyes were burning and when I woke up I realised her eyes are sooo far away from each other, it's all I can see now ;-; maybe I'll make a corrected version
