He hated seeing her worry so much about Thor. She worried with right, Loki himself to a certain degree was scare of what would become of his brother. He had no idea where their father sent him, just that he was exiled from Asgard until he would prove he was worthy being a true king. The younger prince still hoped that would never happen to begin with, so he could finally seize the throne of Asgard once Odin would be gone.
Sigyn’s news, however, surprised him greatly. “A child?” He asked, a smile appearing on his face. She was pregnant. Without hesitation, he leaned in to kiss her softly, arms wrapping around her to hold her close. “That is wonderful news, my love. But Thor… I’m afraid he is banished from Asgard due to his hot headed and reckless behaviour that almost caused a war between Asgard and Jötunnheim.”
“We can’t have a war.” Sigyn said softly. She couldn’t imagine their child being born into a war. So it was good it never broke out. But at the same time, it cost them Thor. She wanted him back, but eventually he could come home she guessed. They had a task of their own now. Sigyn leaned into her husband and reached for his hands to place them on her flat belly, just above where their child was growing.
“We have our new task now, Loki, to be parents, to give this baby what we felt like we were deprived of.” To give it love, a great future, to give it whatever it wanted. Sigyn smiled. Maybe one day Thor would meet their child. “Think we can do that?”
