Background:

Ayasari was born to Njord and Skađi, who were married despite living in different realms and being forbidden by Odin to have children. When Skađi fell pregnant, she stayed in Jötunheim and raised Aya in secrecy, hiding their existence from Odin and the rest of the Aesir. Njord and many other Vanir knew of their existence, though they had to be cautious discussing Aya around any Asgardians. As they got older, Njords eldest children Frey and Freyja grew jealous of their half-sibling and reported a half-jötun child to Odin. Skađi was forced to discreetly send Aya to Midgard, where Odin would never think to look. With new powers at barely 18 (young for an Asgardian and yet still fully grown) Aya has been adjusting to life on what the locals call “earth” and hiding their powers and herritage from everyone. Well, until they find out about the Avengers…

Dragging Loki with him because his younger brother could have used a night out, and why not? He'd been recommended the bar by a general who claimed their service was impeccable. And then he stopped short when he recognized the bartender.

"Strange." He mused, his humor vanishing halfway.

"You look like you've seen a ghost." Loki teased as he made a beeline for the counter.

Aya had settled into their new job, enjoying the work and the people. Contrary to their previous assumptions, many Asgardians were kind and polite people (sometimes), and though they were often loud and boisterous it was always with joy and celebration.

They didn't notice Thor walk into the busy room, too preoccupied by a Patron telling them about his latest battle as they poured him his ale.

Loki noticed the odd expression his adoptive brother held and decided to stir the pot further.

Slithering to the bar he made himself known with a knowing look to Aya. "Might you please me with a drink?"

Thor had funny enough vanished into a crowd.

"Sure thing! Just a mead?" Aya looked him up and down. "Haven't seen you down here before. New to the area?"

They noticed Loki's strange facial expressions, but brushed it off as they wiped the bench clean.

"Just a mead." Loki tilted his head. He watched them seem to be looking closely at him. "Forgive my crude manners, I am Loki."

"Nice to meet you Loki," Aya smiled. "I'm Alice." They were careful to use their alias as they passed his drink over the bench.

"Alice," Loki repeated, tilting his head as if he was studying them. "Thank you." He lifted his drink in toast to them. "To my brother and your health."

"Your brother?" Aya inquired. "And has this brother blessed me with his presence today? I'm sure he is just as charming as his green-eyed counterpart," they smiled, "uness of course your brother also has green eyes."

They started pouring the drink of another patron nearby, a mug of ginger ale.

It was painfully simple in theory, but with the fate of their home planet on the line they couldn't send any random person.

They needed someone skilled but disposable, young but wise. And most importantly, someone who could survive the harsh conditions of a land almost entirely absent of ice.

So there they were, disguised, shapeshifted and standing on Asgardian soil for the first time. They looked around trying to get their bearings in the dazzling city. The royal castle rose up from the ground like a golden mountain, the sun's rays glittering off of the surface. Aya could stare at it all day...

A loud group of (likely drunk) Asgardians stumbled past, startling them back into reality. They had a vital mission to complete, and they couldn't afford any distractions...

"You appear lost." A tall figure materialized behind them, their hair rising a little as electricity in the air raced back and force. "Might I offer some assistance?"

"Shit! Ah, um yeah I seem to have found myself a bit lost. You see, it's my first shift as a royal guard and I have no idea where to go. I believe i was supposed to guard the... artefact room?"

Aya's forehead beaded with sweat. They prayed that the blonde man wouldn't see through their lies.

"Pardon, I didn't mean to startle you," He offers a slight chuckle, his voice deeper than most. "The captain must be distracted, royal guards do not guard the artifacts, that is a priest job."

This new one seemed awful jittery to be right in front of him

"Oh dear, it seems I may have been mistaken. No matter, I shall, um, figure things out myself. Thank you for your assistance... apologies, I didn't ask your name."

He ever so slightly bounces on his toes, rocking back a hair. "Thor, son of Odin." He flashes a smile to punctuate his words.

Aya's eyes flew open in true, unbridled fear. Just their luck, to run into the Prince of Asgard. Their mother was right, this mission was too dangerous, they never should have gone.

"O-odin? Like, King Odin??"

They took a step back, almost stumbling. Their breathing hastened and a tear threatened to spill from their eye. Aya had to stay strong, had to keep up the act, but the world was starting to spin.

Thor stepped forward, arms poised to catch them, it was as if they were fainting. Had he said something wrong?? He wasn't overly proud of his fathers legacy, there was a good chance Odin had done something to this soldiers family.

"Is something wrong?? Please accept my apologies if I said something to upset you."

They flinched away from Thor's hand, fearing him and knowing what would be revealed if he felt their cold skin.

"No! I- ah, I apologise. I am not feeling well. Please, do not let me burden you with stress. I'm sure you have many duties you would rather be entertaining."

They pushed their while hair out of their face, allowing themself to look up at Thor's face. He seemed kind, genuine, but Aya was determined not to let their guard down.

"Then here," He points them in the direction of a quiet garden outside. "I will place a lady to make sure no one bothers you, its very peaceful."
