The Longest Journey (1999) ↠ Marcuria

I love how both the longest journey and dreamfall have aged so unevenly and how even dreamfall chapter’s perfectly adequate graphics were a little behind the times even when it first came out. I love how much all three of these games hate cops. I love how much time and effort was spent on finding actors with wonderfully rich and plummy accents so that going down the dialogue trees feels like a treat. I love how much these games are about the dangers of the police state. I love how you have to be a little patient and forgiving towards the presence of bugs considering how long ago they came out and how far the tech has improved since then. I love how the plotlines are always about fighting government surveillance and defeating fascism. I love crow.

Actually I did technically draw this this year, though I never properly posted it. I just painted over my old lineart picture of April Ryan to create this, after I played Disco Elysium in January, so it wasn’t anything completely fresh. That’s the last time I drew anything, and I didn’t even really ‘finish’ it, I was intending to have it full body. But I was just done, so this is it.
