magnus-dragon:
“You know, I think thats the same for me too…” The dragon admitted, having never really understood the whole Valentines deal when it came down to it all. “I can’t say that I’ve ever really bothered to make plans for it often, i’ve always found it to be a very human holiday as your love should be shown year round anyway?” He offered, even if he likely sounded like a huge cliche for it. The dragon only then laughed as she pulled him down. “Well, I’m not entirely sure you know, I think at least two of them are her actual pups. It’s kind of hard to tell. She seems to mom them all in her own way.” He mused, only then nodding “Kids are very much an anxiety inducing thing…” He admitted “Especially when you’re outnumbered by them. She must at least have a good handle on it all, which I admire….” He shrugged lightly.
“Well isn’t that romantic of you, Magnus,” she couldn’t help but tease, a slow grin stretching her lips. “Y’know it’s a shame you haven’t found your mate yet, they’re missing out on some good stuff,” she joked, playfully nudging him. “It’s funny, my dad used to say the same thing. My parents lived amongst humans here and there before I was born, so they knew a little about the holidays they celebrate. Sometimes when the 14th of February would roll around my mom would joke about how the humans were celebrating their Valentine’s Day, and my dad would give this whole speech about how he didn’t need one day to show her how much he loved her- and then he’d go out and get her flowers anyway.” Az didn’t talk about her parents much with anyone, usually because the fast paced life she led meant the people she surrounded herself with didn’t care to ask. And that was fine with her, really, because even after all this time, thinking about them still made her a little sad. And she really didn’t like being sad.
“Two sounds like enough of a handful, kudos to her for taking in even more of them,” she said with a snort, shaking her head as she twirled her bottle of beer on the counter, still untouched otherwise. “Yea, just watching other people with their little minions gives me second hand anxiety sometimes,” she joked, even as her stomach flipped uncomfortably, “I really don’t know how women go back to have more- it’s one thing for guys, y’know, you don’t have to do much until the lady pops the thing out, and making them is obviously a great time. Growing a baby sounds...I dunno, freaky. And not in a good way.”
