i think the interpretation that hero would instantly forgive sunny and act all like "Youve been through so much keeping this all in..Were all here for you and I know you didnt mean it....So...Group hug!" after he tells them the truth is infinitely stupider than him violently lashing out. Theyre both completely out of character and unrealistic but like. that would never happen.Ever. he just found out his childhood best friends murdered and staged the suicide of his girlfriend and best friend, the only person he ever had to rely on and feel understood because of, and that he was lied to and blamed himself for the next 4 years of his life that ruined him mentally forever and have made his life miserable. But hes so kind so hed forgive them in 3 seconds of course!!! I think people just underestimate how heavy and horrible the truth is in general, i dont think any of the characters would come close to forgiving them even in several months, theres so much more emotion to it than just the truth ITSELF as well, and in hero specifically i think hed feel so much guilt about how he feels abut basil and sunny after hearing it. hes always had to take some amount of responsibility over them and feels like if he doesnt hes letting everyone down adn liek😭😭😭I feel like he would Not be able to think positively of them after it and would feel so much guilt about feeling negatively towards the 2 kids hes been so friendly with and protective over and recognizing that theyve done something terrible😭😭hed have to grieve it all over again, and battle himself with the fact that if sunny hadnt done anything then mari would still be alive
this time around hero Still has to move on and go back to college within only 2 months and not have enough time to process his emotions or grief while a bunch of new expectations and deadlines are pushed on him. doomed forever. hero do you need a hug
side note why is basil never included in truth reaction interpretations?!?! hes right there and it was his idea to hang mari and frame her suicide so i think thered be.A big reaction to that as well and not only directed towards sunny but i guess thats brushed over cause hes the one telling htem
