I really should have made him more glowy to achieve the vibe I was going for

This edit is a bit exaggerated but it showed me that I should be less afraid of sacrificing detail for the sake of creating an atmosphere

I'm still a total noob at balancing hues and values for a good composition... If anybody knows good advice or tutorials please do share
