Cat looked over at the voice and grinned at the legged mermaid in front of her. “Hello! It’s been a long time,” She commented, and held out her hand. “You’ll have to come to me I’m afraid, my tail wont carry me so far.” She laughed airily, which was a rare sound if you were not a sister. “No bother at all, come sit with me. I’m sure we’ve things to catch up on.”

Azul didn’t feel like becoming a mermaid again and simply waved. “I really dont want to have fins at the moment.” Azul sat down a little far away from her not too far but wanted to keep her dear sister company. “ What do you think about the humans here?” She asked looking over at her. She did feel a little awkward but she pushed her silly thoughts for a moment.

Caterina sat comfortably on a rock in the lagoon, it luckily hadn’t frozen over just yet so she was able to relax both in and out of the water. She expected visitors, there always were some, any time of the year, even if it wasn’t on purpose. Some sucker always came wandering around. She was combing her long blonde hair, and tied in a few bits of jewelry to make it even better, as flowers were out of the question this time of year. She wanted to do something, to mess with someone, so she hoped it was a human and not a fellow mermaid.

Azul had been wondering where her little friend had gone to but instead would check the lagoon to see if she’d had been teasing some of the mermaids. She had told Sparrow not to tease mermaids but the little bird would learn her lesson one day. She walked to the lagoon and there was someone there. “Oh hello! Hope i wasnt’ bothering you!” She smiled brightly at the girl.

Smee couldn’t help the grin throw a twinkle to his eyes as she agreed so readily. The pirate picked up a few manageable logs and started toward the row boat. “Yeah, well, everyone on the ship’s got a job to do or a place to be. Most of the men are in O’Sullivans, but they’ve got a place.” He chuckled, loading the wood into the boat and then heading back to the forest. He pulled a hand axe from the holster on his hip, and started chopping away at a fallen tree.

Azul watched him and wanted to help too. “Can I try? “ She wanted to help as much as possible, if this was his job surly she could make it go faster. Azul was a strong girl in the ocean and she was sure that she had the strength out here on land. She watched him carefully and took even more notes. “ May I try? Looks like youre breaking a sweat.” She stood up next to him.

Smee looked down at her hand on his shoulder and then back at her with a little grin. “Yeah? Well, how about you help me collect some wood, and then you come back to the ship with me and stay warm there? I’m sure the captain won’t mind a bit.” Smee spoke, self assured. In reality, he knew that the captain would be infuriated if he brought someone aboard without first discussing with him. “Come on, it’ll be better than being out here by yourself all night. Island gets colder when the sun goes, I promise you that.”

Azul smiled brightly up at him. She’d never really been on a ship before was almost captured by one but it was be different because she was in a human form. “Sure, I’d love to stay in the ship! It would be very interesting and you can show me around. Come on let’s go!” Azul was rather excited for this and helped pick up some wood. “You only come out there? No one in the crew helps you out ?”

Smee warmed when she called him her jolly sailor, and couldn’t help but grin at her. It had been a couple weeks since he was young again, today being his first time in what felt like a month. The ache in his old bones had been ironed out, and here he was, feeling like she was the reason for his youth. “Yes, just getting some logs for his fire. It’s been a cold month, alright,” Smee chuckled rubbing the back of his neck. “You’re…you’re out here all on your own? Are you okay?” He asked, wanting to sweep her up and take her back to the ship with him right then and there.

She would normally take her some time to find shelter but she was till cold at night. Being a human was very different from anything. “Yes I am, I am okay. Well it takes a little longer to find a warm place and most of the caves are warm for a moment then get a little colder the later it gets. “ She smiled. “But it’s  different being a human, it’s much colder.” She thought maybe she sounded so silly saying it “Oh, I hope I’m not keeping you from something.” She placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.

Smee chuckled good naturedly and bent down to help out, setting the couple of logs he’d collected on the ground. “You’ve got too much on it,” he told her, pulling a couple of smoking leaves off of the flame that was struggling to burst into existence. “Build a little pyramid,” he told her, picking up the twigs and balancing them up in a triangular shape. The pirate reached into his back pocket and pulled out a little leatherbound booklet, and tore a blank piece out. He crumpled it up and settled it in between the sticks, and then lit the paper with a gold cigarette lighter. Smee then leaned forward, hands pressing into the dirt of Neverland, and blew gently on the little flame. It soon took, and he added bigger pieces of wood. “There, no you’ve just got to make sure it doesn’t burn out.” Sean looked around them, wondering if he had time to build her a little fireplace for it, and then just turned to smile at her. “What’re you doing out here on your own?” He asked, half hoping that she was alone.

Azul watched closely, trying to take notes in her head. That way she could make one on her own when she had the chance again. She smiled at him and then at the little fire. “I’ve been walking alone for quiet some time my jolly sailor bold.” She looked at him and winked and bit her bottom lip from smiling too much. “Sparrow comes every now and then but she’s been gone too. She’s stuck in her very own world. It’s just me,” She shrugged her shoulders. “Oh What about you? Are you here alone too? Getting wood for your Captain?” She looked over at the wood then to him. She had misses seeing his face, he was such an interesting human being but wasn’t sure why she was so liked him so much. Maybe it was human feelings rubbing off on her.

 Smee made his way over to the island to get some firewood. The captain had been on his ass all day about how cold his cabin had become after the chill that swept over Neverland. The coldness meant one thing: Pan was away from the island. It put a brisk disposition in the captain, and made him more irritable than ever. Sean was bundled up the best he could be; a vest over a navy blue flannel shirt and his famous red hat pulled down over his ears. He rowed to shore and tugged the longboat up a bit on the beach, not wanting to risk a bunch of mermaids untying it from the dock like they’d done the last time he’d set foot on the isle. The pirate hoped this would be a quick trip; he just had to find some dry logs to bring back to the Roger. If he could just warm Hook’s quarters, he was sure the captain would be in better form. As he started collecting logs to toss in the boat, he could smell the faint scent of smoke and the murmur of someone trying to coax a fire out of some wood. The voice was familiar, like a dream of a dream, and he followed it to the owner. “Hello,” he breathed when he saw Azul, the ethereal beauty from the seas he’d met months back. “Having trouble?” He asked, in his kindest voice.

The problem was that Azul wasn’t letting the fire breath so much, it was hard to get the wood going with it being smothered with leafs and woods, it needed a passage way for air to pass through it. Azul looked around for quick second and held up her hand towards the piled up wood and closed her eyes and tried to focus on lighting it up but she needed darker power for such thing but of course it was worth a shot if you were so cold.  She sat down on grown and she did everything Sparrow said but why wasn’t it working. She felt her heart starting to beat a little faster than usual and right when she turned around that person was here, the one she would have long talks with. She smiled and nodded. “I’ve tried to start one of these fires and I’ve done everything, like the wood and leafs and it still doesnt want to start am I missing something?” She turned to look at the fire wood.

Azul always went away from the Winter and swam to a warmer part of the Island strange enough sounded very weird but it was way below the water. But Azul wanted to see the little flakes that fell from the sky they were cold and oddly shaped and she wanted to stay above to see it all. Of course her friend had left her some clothes, warm for this type of weather. Azul had been out in land for a day, she’d wanted to stay for as long as she could above the water and hopefully the moon would be so kind enough to let her see the snow fall. Azul had warm boots, long pants and a long sleeve shirt. She looked human enough. Sparrow would often go away and she’d had to learn how to be out here in the world and to fend for herself and she never got into that much trouble ever, she was the sweetest. Azul had been walking the path Sparrow had taught her everything looked strangely weird, colors changing in the leaves and not that many animals out. Azul was started to get cold and saw a few times how Sparrow made a fire, she needed wood leaves to get it started and so she did. Gathered it all but just sat there wondering how to get it on. She knew she carried the little light with her but other times she’d use the sticks. She sat up and tried to get it started but got frustrated. “Oh please little flame come on.” She wrapped her hair in a messy bum trying her hardest to get it started.

oliver–chase:

“Yeah,  not real, doll. You have legs, not fins.” He laughed when she went on about meeting some now, but he indulged her because she was cute, and raised his hands. “Alright, alright I’m coming! But they’re totally not real, but I may have seen one once when I was high as a kite.” Oli joked, pushing himself to his feet and following after her. “What’s you’re name then mermaid? Is it Ariel? Is your auntie called Ursula?” 

“Oh high as a kite? Oh dear then you must be really slow huh?” She teased him and shook her head and kept going. “Azul Luna, no not Ariel we all know she’s not real come on.” She ran her fingers through her hair and smiled up at him. Proving him wrong would be very amusing, she’d never really done such a thing before. “ Not Auntie but she’s my God mother, she said if I gave in to the darkness I could control the very sea it self and kill loads of people but it just wasn’t for me, we all have time when we go and I dont think I should have that power.” They walked for a mile until you could clearly hear water, the smell of it and truly it was amazing. She had human clothes that Sparrow had led her and she started unbuttoning them. Mermaids where not shy and rather accepted themselves. Slowly they reacted to the lagoon and empty. Sparrow knew around this time they would go explore down below. “Dont stand too close to the edge, they do like men.” Sparrow had her back turned towards him, kicked off her shoes and took off her shirt and jumped in, her pants were the only things that floated to the top. Azul had transformed into the mermaid she truly did miss the most. She stay underwater a little bit longer then a human would and waited.

“Because I’m useful alive.” He told her knowingly, smiling wide. He watched her move in closer, raising a brow at her as she came inches apart from his own face. His eyes flickered down at her lips and he smirked at her words, feeling her warm breath on his skin. It was almost dizzying but he kept his composure. “I’ve heard a lot of stereotypes about mermaids, sneaky little murderesses that like to drown their victims, right?” He chuckled as she moved back and leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees. “The biggest thing about mermaids though, is that they’re not real.” Oliver laughed again when she claimed to be a sea creature and shook his head. “Not to burst your bubble, but you do realise you’re rocking legs right now yeah?”

“Not real? Oh my gosh.” She crossed her arms. “I am real and very much, rocking legs?” She wasn’t sure what that meant but kept a positive mind. “Follow me, I’ll show you mermaid lagoon and for sure you’ll believe once you see them. Not all are mermaids kill, haven’t you ever thought that there is a reason why they do it, sometimes, outsiders will try to take them away and examine them like animals. I’m pretty sure if someone tried to hurt you or someone you loved, you’d fight to save your life or theirs right?” she stood up and motioned him to follow her. “Coming?”

Sean wiped the sweat from his brow and propped his foot on the hull of the dinghy he was in, leaning forward on his knee. It had been a long day for fishing, and he’d finally gotten a break long enough to break a sweat and pull the nets in. McGee sighed, looking out as the sun was setting, and wondered just what he was going to do with his life. Sure, life on the sea was a grand experience, but so much of the adventure had streamed out of it. He thought often of the lady of the sea after her existence was brought to his attention again by a spritely little lost thing, and some days, found himself smiling through his work. Smee brought his attention to the darker storm clouds in the distance and thought he might have time to nip in and collect some fruit for a bit of supper when he got back; there was no doubt that Cookson probably wouldn’t make sure that there was food set aside for him. The tide pushed him in toward the lagoon and he decided he might as well dock there for a quick outing. It was then that he saw her, like a goddess sitting by the water in a dream. Azul. “Ahoy, there!” he called out, noting that she was starting to undress, not wanting to frighten her by silently rowing in on her while she was in the nip.

Azul was unbuttoning the last one from her shirt, it was so strange humans had so much clothes she did wonder why they wore so much, why would they cover themselves. She looked at the water for a brief moment and saw the ripples expand across the water, They were fairly big enough maybe something big was coming until she heard his voice. Azul looked up and smiled toward the direction of her friend. “Oh my jolly sailor bold.” She smirked and crossed her arms. “Were you sneaking up on me? Trying to catch a glimpse of this fish?  “ She gave a short breath laugh trying to be funny, She didn’t mind even if he did happen to see her, she knew he wasn’t like the rest of them. She pulled her hair to one side looked down, feeling a bit silly. Azul was getting ready to leave and go back into the ocean one more time. She felt like she needed it but she oddly wanted to stay and have a small chat with her friend she did very much fancy, maybe she could ask him about thimbles and such.

Once the wolf left, Oliver calmed down and shrugged out the tension in his shoulders. “Ha! Sounds like rubbish. Who’s been telling you that?” He asked as he walked over and sat down near her. “We have loads going on, but good stuff. Like planes and cars and medicine.” He skipped over the shitty stuff to make his point. “Seriously, who’s fooled you? Cause they are mad. Pirates are murderers and pillagers and abusers probably. And before you say, oh it’s just a stereotype, stereotypes are made because there are so many of the same thing.” He smiled back at her, she was very pretty, too pretty to be out lost in a forest. “I didn’t say you were mad, or are you a pirate too?”

Azul nodded, he did have a point about pirates. “Oh yes pirates are pretty horrible beings but if depends on who you meet, If you met one if I’m assuming then if they were so horrible murderers why didnt they kill you? ” she looked over to him and slowly moved in closer. “I’m pretty sure you’ve heard stereotypes things about mermaids, how  clueless they are and all they want is a man to love them and all that shit. But did you know the ones here are so very beautiful, they seduce men and lead them to their very death. A pirate or a man such like yourself would do anything to get very far with a mermaid if you know what I mean.  “Azul moved in closer, if she was close enough she could kiss his very face. “To caress that soft skin and to have their hands all over a mermaid, any chance to get that kiss that men want oh so much, it’s like this vibration you feel from the top of your head to toe and you just want to go even further, then you’re stuck in this faze and when you think about all the things you want to do. You’re a goner.” She moved back and smirked. “Not all mermaids need to kill, sometimes it’s only to defend themselves. Not all mermaids are bad, some like to wonder in the woods when they have a chance to like today and enjoy what this place has to offer and no, i’m not a pirate. I’m a mermaid who just got very lucky today.”

It was full blue moon and now it was time to head back to the sea, she missed it. The way the ocean caressed her skin, It had made her  such a perfect glow but  felt like it was going away. In her mind she couldn’t think of only being human, not being able to be a part of the sea.. The sound of it was bitter but then again she would have a reason to stay on the earth but all of that was out of her mind. She had explored the wonders of the world above. She’d visit Sparrow and go on adventures but she did miss her friend and felt like he might of forgotten about her, she had stop mentioning about him to Sparrow because she made it a bigger deal then it was. Azul walk down to the Lagoon taking her time, step by step. Once the mermaid was very close she started taking off most of the human things Sparrow gave her, belts to hold things, satchel and unlacing things they called shoes from her feet.She sat down over looking the  reflection of the moon in the water. Maybe she could stay one more day above or was this the last time she’d ever visit the world above. She wanted so much more adventure, Neverland had adventure but she needed more. Azul kicked off her shoes set them aside and started unbuttoning her blouse, humans wore so much at a time.

oliver–chase:

He stayed still while the animal growled, hands held up to show that he didn’t have a weapon. Once it stopped, he took a single step forward and began waving and gesturing as he spoke. “Because it’s a wild animal? They’re unpredictable, wild. Like, how obvious do you want me to make it?” He shook his head and laughed, shoving his hands in his pockets, thinking the people of this island were absolutely idiotic. “No, no one is. It’s a desert island, as in, not habitable. Not made for humans, but somehow I’m here and it’s so weird. Like I get the odd pirates being here, but why is everyone else? Clearly being here as sent them mad and I’m next!”

Azul crocked her head to the side and didn’t really understand where he was coming from. Was he sick or just another one of those outsiders. “Go,” She told the wolf and just like that the wolf left them just like that.  “This is Neverland, filled with magical  things that maybe are very strange to you but are completely normal to me.” She stood up and walked over to him. “You’re on outsiders to us and imagine how strange your world is compared to mines. We dont really have a worry in the world and yours has so much going on as I’ve been told. Pirates are something else, not all of them are completely mad.” She smiled at him, very curious about him. “Just have an open mind about all of us, we’re not all so bad and completely mad,” She met her eyes with his and smiled every so friendly. She moved her hair behind her ear.

The wolf’s ears perked up as it caught the sound of someone coming and moved away from the girl and had a low growl, the eyes brighter and even scarier. Azul didn’t say a word and waiting for it to come , or whatever it was. Maybe it was one of her friends coming to visit her but normally this wolf wouldn’t get like this. Then a man had popped out of the blue, very strange looking person, didn’t look very much like a lost boy nor a pirate. Azul made a face on his comment.

“Are they now?” She called over the wolf, “Steady, come here boy. You’re not going to harm either of us right?” The wolf took a few seconds to get back to normal before returning to Azul sitting right next to her, protecting her. “Yes, very dangerous but he’s alright, he’s calm now.” The wolf licked her fingers and she pet the sides of it’s head. “Why wouldn’t I be okay?” The more he talked seem like something was wrong with him. Neverland did have a few wolves that were a bit on the dangerous side but she could fend for herself, if she had people trying to steal her precious tears then she could take care of herself now. She looked up at him with her sea green eyes, “You’re not from here right?”

Azul had legs for awhile now, she would wonder in the woods just admiring everything and doing as much walking as possible. It was something she enjoyed the most about having legs, walking and finding new things along the way. She stopped for a moment to sit on a trunk and looked at some bushes. She noticed something, eyes in the bushes. She squinted her eyes to get a better look and slowly out came a wolf, glowing eyes and shimmered with the sunlight, had fur as black as the night and had a white patch on his side that looked like a heart. 

Azul smiled at the wolf, she had recognized it, this wolf would normally visit the mermaid lagoon for fish or water. “I know I look different but I’m still the same person dear old friend” The wolf came closer to her and pounced on her legs and licked her face. “I knew you would remember me, how could you not? I smell like a fish!” She laughed and pet the wolf, it was the first time she was able to pet him properly. The wolf looked into her eyes and she placed a hand on his head. “I’m glad i ran into someone i knew, was getting a wee bit lonely.”

He looked at her and held out his hand, “Hey it’s ok, we can just walk and enjoy the sounds of the night.” He smiled. “Or if we stop near the Roger I can go get my violin and play some music for you?”

Azul crocked her head to the side. Right away he wanted to take her back to the Roger and she’s remember what Smee said about not entering a ship uninvited. She didn’t want to upset his Captain and shook her head. “No, it’s fine. Let’s just live the moment right here okay?” Azul pat his shoulder, looked at him for a moment then returned to look ahead of her and kept walking.
