I love how everyone keeps trusting that Arthur will do right in the mess of chapter 6.

Susan says she believes Arthur will be able to stir Dutch on the right course, Reverend says he thinks Arthur will do what is right and the sister is basically glorifying him into an angel.

While it can be nice to hear, I can't help but think of it as a massive burden to place on a dying man's chest. Everything is going to hell and there everyone are, telling a man who wishes for nothing but rest that he will be able to fix everything.
