Kida curtsied respectfully as she saw Aria enter the room, "Good Evening, Your Highness."
She had no idea why her Mother sent her of all people to welcome Aunt Aria but she was not about to disobey her.
@b-raypokemontime
A spring green eye was locked on Kida before she even saw the young Princess. The expression in it and on the face of Aria was soft and open. As it always was whenever she was around her darling niblings since she'd first met them when they were wee babes.
"A good evening to you as well Kida." She inclined her head and moved to close the distance between them. She reached out with a hand to gently place it on her shoulder. A gentle pat instead of the warm hug she would have given. Kida was almost a young woman now and might not appreciate being swept up like she were still a small child.
"How are you today?"
Aria could feel his gaze like one feels the unwelcome touch of something slimy on her skin. Osborne's thoughts and eyes were turned to her. If she wasn't already steeling herself against it she would have reached. As it was Jack and Heldrouth might have spotted the grimace that appeared on her gorgeous face before she was forced to bid them her farewells. Her Guard Evvaine and Marcos would help Jack slip out the back of her tent and then make sure Heldrouth had the more than generous payment and tip for his and his brother's hard work.
Aria walked to meet the man. Eye looking about for the dark form of the shadow that was fighting for this Unovan Noble. Her head was adorned in her favorite simple gold crown of daisies. And her royal robe moving about her in a way that hid, for now, the fact she was wearing her own armor. Up to the grandstand with her other Guards flanking her. Amalthea in her new armor glaring daggers, And Gorbash looking intimidating with his behemoth stature beside.
"... It indeed has been riveting." She said, the golden sunflower locket adorning her this plaited braid glinting in the sunlight as the clouds moved slowly by.
"We are not lacking in fine garments sir. If your Champion wins... your servant will made aware of my colors and theme for the Gala." She demurred, her fine gracious lady side of herself held firmly in place.
"We shall see if fate favors you this day, if you'll excuse me..." Aria would incline her head slightly before she'd move to the center of the field.
Osbourne's lips curled into a grin and his gaze followed after her as the Announcer continued to recite the outcome of the match loudly in the background, "Splendid. Well, do tell your servants not to dress you overly modest. We ought to look every bit as exceptional as possible as we enter the Gala."
The Announcer finished retelling the match and then shifted his tone to drum up further excitement from the crowd. The booming drum of of his voice, amplified by multiple Loudred seemed to shake the stone walls as it sound reverberated throughout the arena.
"But it's not over yet folks! Now it's time for our winner to face off against our secret Champion! Yes, you heard it right folks! Our Challenger has fought all his way up to this moment - and now only one person stands in his way to absolute victory! Does he have what it takes to beat our Secret Champion and take home the prize? There's only one way to find out!" A drumroll started followed by a loud wave of cheering and hollering from the crowd.
Osbourne's eyes followed Aria as she walked towards the center of the arena. As she walked his look went from smug, to curious, to almost annoyed. Where was she going? It couldn't be that this 'Secret Champion' one fighting on her behalf was it?
The announcer called out, "Only one fight remains people! Will our Combatant be able to win and take home the prize?! Let's give a warm welcome to our Champion and find out!"
Had this Tournament gone any other way Aria would probably have deferred her part as the Champion to Evvaine. It would have been more fair to the mortals who had hopes of winning. As it was though she could not keep herself from the field of battle now. Not since this spectre fighting for Osborne had been the one to win every battle. Even against Brasmeag.
Her head was held high and her steps were fluid and sure. Even her limp from the bullet wound of old seemed like it belonged now. She was outwardly the picture of confidence. But on the inside she was a roil of emotions. This fighter of Osborne's..... Aria's heart was beating faster with each step she made across the grass. Senses reaching about to feel her long lost beloved's spirit and aura once more. How and why was this happening? 1100 years of nothing and now all of a sudden...??
She stopped on one side of the white washed logs that she'd had pounded into the grass as the outline of the center of the ring. Her Pokefolk guards Gorbash and Amalthea stopped all but in sync a few paces behind her. Gorbash held her remade hand axes, and Amalthea her remade sword. The general thought-wave in the stands was that one of these two behind her were going to be the Champion. Most leaning towards the almost 8 foot tall blue haired behemoth that was Gorbash. And the fighters of OKI Kingdom were legendary, so the general excitement was overwhelming.
A murmur of surprise arose from the crowds on the stand as Aria unclasped and swung her Royal cape off in a flourish. Revealing her chainmail and armor. The design of which was similar to those of her guard, visibly more ornate, but still fully practical for battle. The cloak was exchanged for the hand axes and she stepped into the center to wait for her opponent. Looking like her armor was as comfortable for her to wear as her own skin.
Red, magenta, and gold confetti rained from the sky as Banners decorated with the Solvieg Family Crest and the flag of Galar billowed in the breeze. The grandstands were packed and an aura of excitement was in the air. The scents of food, alcohol, dirt, and sweat wafted through the air in an almost nauseating concoction.
Ares and his 'brother' Olli, both tried their best to stand on their tip-toes to look over the stone wall that separated them from the arena. Ares' heart was pounding rapidly in his chest from excitement - he had never been this close to the arena before. Usually all the good seats were reserved by those with money or claimed by those with enough power or strength behind them to take it. The only reason they had the opportunity to get this close this time was because of Heldruth.
Ares suddenly felt a shiver go down his spine though as the Nobleman turned and looked their way with a haughty grin. He started walking towards them, but it was clear from the look on his face that he was not looking at them - but looking past them and in the direction of where Heldruth and Aria stood...
Osbourne leisurely strolled towards the grandstand with a look of utmost confidence. He didn't seem to notice the two children behind the walls as his eyes were locked on only one person - Aria. He adjusted one of his white gloves as he approached and made sure that the large diamond he wore as the cuff-links caught and reflected the mid-day sun as he did. As he came to a stop he jammed his cane into the earth in front of him and rested both hands on the large amber stone on top - though it was clear that he was doing his best to hide the obvious crack in the stone behind his hands as he did so. Somehow the crack looked bigger than before - like the small knock that had happened in it the other day had slightly spider-webbed outwards and if one looked close enough they may have even noticed a small 'chip' in the stone that Osborne had covered with his hand.
"Have you been enjoying the show, Your Highness?" His tone nearly purred with an unbearable satisfaction, "My Servant has proven surprisingly useful for once. One more victory and you will finally have the privilege of accompanying me as my prize." He looked her over with an almost predatory gaze, "I will be sure to send a Servant over tonight to get your measurements so we can find something... 'suitable' for us to wear - as I still intend to request an evening with you as my Prize and we would not wish to look distasteful. In fact, I think I shall ask to escort you to the Castle Gala at the end of the Festival as my Prize. That should be a suitable arrangement."
An announcement started to boom out behind them and Osbourne's smile nearly turned into a sneer, "I believe they are about to announce the final round - My Servant verses this so-called 'Champion'."
Aria could feel his gaze like one feels the unwelcome touch of something slimy on her skin. Osborne's thoughts and eyes were turned to her. If she wasn't already steeling herself against it she would have retched.

“The only things that can block me like this right now are high level dark types.. ah Celia!” When Celia fell to the floor Balia was right there to try and help her up.
“No Celia. You were hurting innocent people alongside those that had done you and Esaias wrong. You were out of control.” She gently admonished her. And gave Celia space to get up on her own since… well she was upset and seemed to want to do it on her own. So she got up and went to the tray of food she had brought. Coming back over with the food and gently urging Celia to sit back on the bed.
“Here. I brought you something to eat. Eat and I’ll tell you what happened.” She would put the bowl of food and fork into Celia’s hands, making sure she had a good hold on them first.
“That one maggot is not dead. I cursed him though. That his death would be excruciating, and shameful. And that till then he will suffer a lot…. him and his cronies. I thought that sounded better than letting them get off easy.” She sat down next to Celia.
“You were awake for most of it. The young man and girl had nothing to do with what that maggot did. The young girl attacked the maggot but I didn’t let her go too far. I was hoping to get information out of him to find Esaias. I found out he had handed Esaias off to someone. I traced that someone and they didn’t know who they were retrieving Esaias for. The trail went dead then because I was being blocked.” Balia worried at the apron she was wearing. Twisting and crumpling the soft fabric as she suffered with worry.
“I’m so new to being what I am it’s still hard for me… and Quiz is not here to help me…That’s why I called for help. I’m hopeing.. that between you, me, and my family member Calcifur… we might be able to break through and find him.”
Celia growled at the scolding, not quite up to arguing that point right this second but definitely not unwilling to. The more she heard, the more the knot of rage filled her throat and chest. He wasn’t dead? But he would ‘die pathetically’? She would have been happy to kill that maggot pathetically. He had screamed and cried so pitifully in the dream. Over and over as she’d picked his body apart piece by piece and fed on his fear. He needed to be dead. All of them needed to be dead. Innocents? Who? Humans were terrible, horrible creatures. They had done this to her twice now. They should all just die. All humans except Esaias should just die.
But Celia couldn’t let one thing slide. No matter what Balia said, that human ‘Ares’ needed retribution. He was just as guilty. Had he not brought Esaias to his people for ‘treatment’, they wouldn’t be in this situation.
“THEY HAD EVERYTHING TO DO WITH IT!” Celia screamed despite her weakness, her miasma exploding out again and filling the room in choking black smoke as the ashen hue once again took over her whole body. “THAT REFUSE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY ESAIAS’ SICKNESS AND BROUGHT HIM THERE! HE HANDED HIM OVER TO THEM!” Celia’s chest squeezed tight as two violent memories overlapped and she began to sob. “Why…? Why do humans have to keep taking what’s mine? I should have just eaten them all the first time… The first time… That wasn’t me… but it was… Who was that…?” Her head throbbed, and her hand came up to grab at a fistful of her white hair. After that, half of what Balia was saying honestly went in one ear and out the other. All Celia needed to know was that Balia didn’t find him- Balia couldn’t find him. Not right now.
“We have to find him, Balia,” Celia sobbed weakly. “I’ll go crazy if I lose him too. He found me. He’s mine.”
Balia didn't even flinch at Celia's outburst and the darkness that shrouded the room. It met her protective shield but did not penetrate it.
No. Balia had cursed that man so that he would suffer terribly all the days left of his miserable life. And then die in a way that would make his suffering before look like child's play. He would beg for the mercy of death. Balia considered giving him death right away was a cop out for that vile creature pretending to be a human. "I am not going to argue this with you Celia. You are wrong. And you hurt people that didn't deserve it even a little bit. That Maggot and his friends were completely and solely at fault, and they will suffer for their crimes." Balia spoke softly but firmly. She'd had to take the bowl of food back from Celia as she flailed about and raged at the situation. "We will find him Celia. I won't stop till we do. Calcifur is much older and more powerful than I am yet. He'll get through the powers that are blocking me." she reached up and wiped at the tears on Celia's face. "Please eat something Celia. You might feel better and keeping your strength for when we do go get Esaias is important."
A Little Song and War Dance?
@sv-pkmn-npc
Aria and her entourage made their way after the crowd headed to the Arena after leaving the meeting between Heldrouth, Jack, and herself. Maybe it was a wee bit premature for her to be all decked out and in her fighting clothes with sword in hand but better prepared than not. As it was though, her royal fur lined cloak was fairly hiding that she was not dressed in one of her gorgeous gowns. Her hand was on her sunflower locket, the only thing showing to those that new her that she wasn't as calm as she seemed. There was a creeping dread overtaking her at the prospect of coming face to face with the spectre that was fighting in Osborne's stead. The Ghost that wore the face of her beloved. She had not been so haunted by anyone or anything in the world in 1100 years as she was by him. He was doing well in the Tournament so far, well enough that it was looking like he might be her opponent if he won his round against Heldrouth. She dreaded it. But also yearned for it! Jittery excitement as it would serve maybe as a way to get closer to him to figure him out. Princess Aria tried to steady herself back into her usual serene demeanor.
Behind her Gorbash was animatedly, but quietly retelling Amalthea the story of the first time he had seen their Mistress fight a real battle. The surly Unicorn, recently decked out with her new robes showing she was now one of Aria's personal knights, was listening more than she was letting on. Ramon and Marcos however, were clearly struggling to not hang on every word. Evvaine the only one of the number missing as she'd stayed back at her Lady's tent.
Aria inclines her head graciously when they bowed.
"Well met Good Cousin Heldrouth, and to you again Iohmar." She sighed then though as she moved to stand closer to them.
"Ah, well at least I'm getting to meet you in person. Which is what I had wished. You impressed me with your good form in your fight today. Staying honorable in the face of such a navely opponent as you had.... If I may?" She'd reach her coal grey feathered hands out hoping he'd hold out his paw for her. She'd clasp it in her hands warmly and crouch down to pop a little kiss in his head. Putting a little of her powers in it. Just a little. Nothing that would be considered cheating for him in his next fight. But still.
"Good luck and fortunes in your future endeavors, and do give my compliments to your Brother, and your Lady Diancie of Stow-On-Side." Her mouth curved up in her little one sided smile.
She stood up then and moved to the table and Jack. She locked eyes with him and could read his feelings. She lightly lay a hand on his arm for a moment.
"You only have to ask my old friend. My offer of yesterday still stands. If you need any assistance I will see what I can do." And he knew her word was of high worth. Or at least knew of old that they were.
"Sadly no, but I am indeed providing the prizes, and I assure you that for each round, and at the end, they'll be well worth the effort." Heldrouth should know. His winnings just from his round were nothing to sneeze at.
Aria reached for the rug that was holding what she'd generously paid for. It slowly unrolled itself infront of her to reveal her old war axes reforged. She was pleased with how they looked and held one up, inspecting blade edge and then pinging the metal with her finger. It hummed in her hand as her power touched it and her visible eye sparkled. She put it back down and held up the short sword she'd commissioned for her young knight Marcos. Tested the balance, pinged the metal again nodded her head. Then finally she reached for her sword and backed up as she held it. The Meloetta insignia of the hilt, the dragon's breath opal at the pommel glowing faintly in recognition of it's Mistress. The metal Sang as she pinged it and she crouched and then whirled about in a swift maneuver to the side. Away from her Guests and Knights. Jack had seen her do this once before. But he hadn't seen her do what she did next. Visibly, for just a moment, show her power in calling up energy made replicas of the sword to join it in circling her in a Swords Dance. Then it was tossed into the air and caught easily to be returned to its scabbard.
"Excellent work as I expected! I am well pleased!"
Heldrouth puffed out his chest and looked rather proud as Aria complimented him, "Yer words honour me, Ma'am." He accepted her gesture and held out his paw as well, but he was clearly not expecting the kiss on the forehead as he immediately flustered to the point he swore his rust-coloured fur somehow turned even more red. He opened his mouth to respond to her but what came out was an almost intangible, "Well- ah, ya know... er...." It took him a second to recompose himself and then he took a step back and bowed again, "It would be my honour to pass on yer message to the Lady of Stow."
Jack stood behind Heldrouth and fought to hold back a chuckle but could not stop the grin from crossing his face at the other's embarrassment. Luckily Aria's gaze snapped his attention away before he lost that battle... and suddenly he too found himself with a lack of words. His internal struggles faded and a numb 'quietness' cross his mind for a brief moment before Heldrouth and Aria began to exchange words again. He was just about to let his mind wander when the sudden flash of metal attracted his attention back. His fingers subconsciously twitched towards the dagger at his belt when Aria tested the weapons as if running off muscle memory but he held himself back.
Neither the Purrserker nor the Rover were expecting the Swords Dance though, and Jack felt an uncomfortable emotion cross him as he stepped back at the sight of the swinging metal. He fought the feeling back and hid it strongly behind an impressed though, and clapped, "Well now, looks like you have a few new tricks up your sleeve?"
Heldrouth however, burst out with a loud belly laugh, "The rumors around ye do not disappoint, Ma'am! That's for sure!"
He looked like he was about to say something else but before he could the sound of a large bell rang out across the field and immediately there arose a clatter from outside the tent as people began exiting their tents.
The Purrsurker looked back over his shoulder and then back at Aria and bowed again, "Well now, I must be takin' my leave as well to prepare fer my turn. It was an honour meeting you, Princess."
He stroked his beard for a moment and looked like he was about to say something else but before he could the bell rang out again and his fur bristled impatiently. He nodded his head at Jack and then turned to leave, "I be lookin' forward to see what the grand price is then, ma'am."
"Sounds like they are calling people to the arena." Jack shrugged as he turned to look at Aria and gave her a playful shrug, "I can't say that I'm not intrigued by this so-called prize now though. But I shall take my leave as well then as I value my life too much to get any closer to the arena."
A rare cheeky little smile curved up Aria's mouth as Jack clapped and said she had some new tricks up her sleeve. She might have tossed Jack a sword and had a little spar right there with him like old times. She respected his abilities in a fight. But time and the place came back to her, and she merely made a curtsey to his and Heldrouth's compliments. "Not new. Just many I keep in reserve. If you wish to spar again while I'm still here in Galar, or find yourself in need of an ally? You would be more than welcome to come find me or my guard." she told Jack. Giant Gorbash came and rolled up the empty rug, then Amalthea came forward to hand a large bag to hand to Heldrouth. Aria had already paid Brasmeag generously in advance for the weapons. "Here's more to show my appreciation for these marvels. You'll find some supplies that I think I remember him lamenting he was running low of in there as well. Ethically sourced mind you." Brasmeag had lamented not having nidoking horn and such. Aria could supply things similar to this and had the added effect of them having been naturally shed instead of cruelly harvested. "It has been an absolute treat to meet you as well Good Cousin Heldrouth. Faire Following!" she would tell him and Gorbash would follow him out with the rug to put into the cart the Purrserker came with. Aria then reached for her Cape and expertly tossed it over one shoulder and buckled it in place. Put her simple gold circlet on her head, and then reverently took her sunflower locket and settled it where it belonged around her slender freckled neck. "I am saddened I won't be seeing you fight again this time. You be well too Iohmar. If you want to slip out the back so less people will see you, you can wait in here for a while till more people leave. Evvaine will cover your exit after." She offered, bowed her head again as a farewell and left the tent to head off to the Arena grounds. Marcos and Ramon, and then Gorbash and Amalthea following too.
The field was green and dotted with tents in all colors and shapes, all around the entrance to the Arena grounds. Bearing the insignias of those who were going to, or had already participated in the Tournament Trials.
Amongst these but set a little apart from the others was one fine tent. White and Aqua and under the banner of the Royal House Ray of OKI Kingdom. Oval in shape and decorated with golden, but modest trim. On either side of the entrance was a pair of older teens. Brown hair that was almost black, dark eyes and tanned skin. In chainmail and bearing their Princess's personal heraldic symbols. They stood under the cloth awning put up for further shade from the sun as well as a table with glasses and a pitcher of water.
These two had been told that their lady was waiting for a delivery so when they would catch sight of Heldrouth and company heading towards the tent one would announce them to those waiting inside and the other would raise a hand in a friendly greeting and tell them they were welcome to go right in.
Inside there was a good table and wooden chairs, a place to rest, a bowl of fruit and yet another pitcher and cups set upon the table. A gold gilded trunk that was open but the open side facing away from them. The Princess Aria, with her long perfect aqua hair plaited in a tight braid was finishing putting on her bracers on that side of the trunk. Gorbash, her faithful Charizard Knight was on the left of her, Amalthea looking fierce and elegant in her own armor at the table pouring herself a drink, and Evvaine standing on the right of her Princess. Holding out Aria's furred cape, gold sunflower locket, and plain circlet for when she fought for her to take them when she was ready. The sight of the Princess in chainmail and armor was something only Jack had ever seen some 10 years ago when they had sparred a few times. Back before Ulric had conquered the North.
"Well well-" Aria began with a twinkle in her visible eye. Turning to give them her full attention.
"Welcome to my tent, you've come just in time good Sir's!" She chimed. The words sounding almost cheerful compared to her usual sober tone. She looked at Heldrouth first, then Jack, and finally to the boys behind them.
"Before we get to business, are any of you hungry or thirsty? I myself was about to have a quick meal before returning to the Arena for the next round of fighting." she offered. Always the gracious host and offering to share her abundance.
Heldrouth pulled his old wagon out in front of the tent without a word. He rested the reigns on the seat beside him and dismounted with a gruff grunt.
Jack jumped down behind him. Despite the heat, the Rover had the hood of his deep, forest green travelling cloak pulled up far over his head to hide his features. He paused to look around cautiously but not a single person minded them. The sight of a Purrserker pulling up in a rickety old wagon before a tournament was nothing new and drew absolutely no attention - but one could not be too careful here. And despite knowing that the two guards in front of Lady Aria's Tent were safe - he still subconsciously pulled the cowl up higher over his face.
Heldrouth had started rounding the wagon to pull out their cargo, but Jack easily reached it first with his longer limbs and easily hoisted out a large bundle that was heavily wrapped in a leather rug. Instead of thanking him, the Purrserker grunted in displeasure and turned to walk straight into the tent. Jack grinned despite himself and followed after the Pokemon without a word.
Both of them paused for a moment as they entered the tent to adjust to the light and then for another moment to take in their surroundings. It brought a lot of memories back to Jack that he would rather not remember - memories he had tried to bury under years of alcohol abuse with no luck.
Heldrouth recovered quicker and stepped forward towards Aria. He bowed so deeply that his rust-coloured beard swept along the ground, "Aye, we be appreciatin' the offer, Ma'am, but we dare not intrude." He straightened up, but kept his eyes turned down, "I be here on behalf o' me brother t' drop off a package an' then we be out of yer way."
It took a second for Jack to remember to bow his head as well, but he didn't bow it nearly as far as Heldrouth - and unlike the Purrserker, he did not avoid eye contact with Aria. Instead, he walked up to put the bundle on the table behind the trunk. His heart was pounding in his chest and he felt a strange mixture of emotions between fight or flight. He pride wanted to blurt out his thoughts and continue their interrupted conversation from yesterday but his body wanted to flee. Even worse was the feeling welling up inside his mind to ask to accompany Aria to the Tournament - to see the bastard that was currently occupying his lands that he knew had to be there with his own eyes. And yet, he knew he was far too much of a coward to follow through with that. He knew he could never see that man and live to tell the tale.
Heldrouth's voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he sheepishly took a step back.
"Out of curiosity, Ma'am, are these weapons the prices for the tournament? I be hearin' that ye will be presentin' the price this year?" Heldrouth asked.
Ares folded his arms on the edge of the wagon and frowned. He thought about the girl that had saved them in the woods and wanted to argue against Heldrouth's statement but something held him back. He was quickly distracted by the Lift though and his arguments faded away as he stood up and held onto the canvas frame to get a better look at the lower city disappearing beneath them.
"So cool!" Olli cheered from beside him - and Ares had to agree. No matter how many times he saw this it always astonished him... the technology from the past must have been vast to create something like this...
After reaching the top and leaving the lift, the two boys fell into an excited conversation about the Tournament. They got so engrossed into their conversation that Ares almost didn't notice the small detour until he sensed - more than saw - Jack tense up.
"Where are we going?" Jack murmured darkly as his eyes also scanned the tents.
"Just a wee stop before we continue on." Heldrouth replied with a slight shrug, "I have a quick 'job' t'do here first - 'n I'd like ye t'come w' me, Jack." He pulled on the reins to slow the Mudbray to a stop, but did not turn to look at the Rover, "I won't lie t'ya. I had been rackin' my brain all night to think o' some way t' change yer mind about what ye were plannin', but lucky fer me ya either ya changed yer mind - or those kids back there changed it for ya." He shook his head, "Yeah, I know why ya came here, Jack. It's obvious 'cause it'll be the only reason ye would."
He could sense that Jack was about to protest and raised his hand up to gesture him to stop, "Don' try t' deny it, Jack. Ya were plannin' on fightin' in the tournament 'n risk gettin' caught 'n some useless self-sarcificin' way t' take out that Lord who took ov'r yer lands now that things're improvin' in yer life because ye have some thought stuck in that thick skull o' yers that ye don't think ye deserve happiness or some other self-righteous bullshit. I'll spare ya the lecture though, because it ain't me style 'n all. 'N besides - all I gotta say is, if ya really wanna be gettin' back at the Southern Lords then ya might just wanna be hearin' me out first, then ye can make whatever damn call ye want."
Heldrouth then stood up and stretched, and without giving Jack a chance to respond he hopped down from the driver's seat and began tying the reins to a nearby post. As he did, he gruffly called over his shoulder, "Boys - bring th' rug wit' ya when ya get out, will ya?"

She stood just out of the light of the fairgrounds. Cloak about her and a fairly decent disguise on. Only some very sensitive psychics would be able to see through it if they wanted. But as far as Aria knew, Stasi was not here. It all was truly some simple changes that to humans was more than enough. It had been a long time since she'd used her Pirouette form for anything other than warfare... and even longer since anyone had seen her face unmarred by the patch that covered her damaged left eye. The simple glamour she put on was a little jarring to herself. Seeing a face in the mirror she hadn't seen in a long time. Seems her trip to see her cousin this year was dredging up ghosts everywhere.
Her dress was simple, speaking of a lady more approachable than the visiting Sovereign she really was. A flower crown of wild daisies and sunflowers around the crown on her head and decorating her currently bright pink hair. She'd said she'd do so with her hair when she and Chiyo had planned to play hooky like this tonight so she assumed she wouldn't be looked over at least by her. So now Aria just needed to wait for her cousin.
Balia is coming over to the couch Kas is sitting on with two bowls of ice cream floating behind her and plops herself next to her mate. Offers him his bowl and then takes hers' in hand and before she eats some she asks nonchalantly "If you could build yourself your own place, what kinda things would you want most?" Sneaky GF is sneaky.
It wasn't a thought that he had very often, much less when being offered delicious ice cream. Kas was more than happy to take the bowl and give himself a moment to think. Softly tapping the spoon against the bowl, he gave an answer a moment later.
"A pool would be cool." He said, "I've grown so use to access to water I can swim in out here in Alola, I think I might die without it, haha! Otherwise... I think I'd mostly just be happy in a house that was big enough for me and Levi. I know we take up a lot of space, but I wouldn't be opposed to helping people reach stuff."
"What's this line of question about, hm, Miss Idol?"
"Oooh! Yeah, a pool is definitely a good idea then. And of course! High ceilings are a must!" Like the cabin they stayed in that Halloween she took Kas to meet her Family on 'the Island'. She needed to bring Icarus too. But after Icarus and Kas met officially.
She wasn't trying to be too sneaky. You can't just surprise someone with a house.
"Well... I don't plan to be an Idol forever. No matter how great the perks are. And I'd like to have a place to call our own. And considering the things in my head I think it would require to make the place comfortable for not only me, but you and Icarus, and Levi, and your other mates when they decide to come around?" She tipped her head to the side to look at Kas with a little smile.
"Well, it's looking like getting some land and building the house would get us what we need. And figuring out how to afford such a plan into the future." She was thinking maybe starting a wine label and vineyard. Or an orchard with a pumpkin patch side hustle.
"And since you and Icarus are my mates, your thoughts and opinions are suuuuper important in the planning and process." She stuck her spoon in her mouth, wiggling at the prospect of this all. But also because icecream with sprinkles and pecans.
Home in Our Range
@b-raypokemontime
Balia sighed and smiled as he opened his eyes and then moved to pull her back into their slumbering embrace. Softly laughing in her throat at him saying it was too early. Being up early meant the world was quiet and peaceful and at the right time sunlight cast rainbows across her room from the little crystal star she took everywhere with her and set in the windows. But this morning she was with Icarus and there wasn't rainbows in the room. She wasn't sad about it in the least. Balia settled back down with him but she wasn't sleepy. She snuck her hand up to brush some of his hair away from his eyes. Thinking. "Ive been thinking about some things lately.....if... you were to buy a house... what kind of things... would you want in it?" She asked quietly. She had indeed. She'd been thinking for a while she wanted to get a little place of her own to call home. And maybe... Icarus and Kas could call home too? Or an additional home.
He honestly hadn't thought about that... perhaps ever. It was much easier before meeting Balia to just be content doing whatever the manager said to do. These days, though? He was actually thinking about his future, of one that potentially didn't include singing until he couldn't do it anymore.
"You know, I've never been asked that." He admitted, wrapping his arms around her as well, "I have no clue, honestly. I haven't had a place I could properly call home in... well, probably my whole life. Been living in apartments rented for me or hotel rooms for concerts. What kind of stuff do people usually like in their houses?"
He felt a little silly asking, but what else could he do?
Her brows furrowed. She knew, or remembered a little about how it felt to not really have a place to claim as yours and to call home. It had been a long time since those years as a child when they were on the run from her dad and his cronies. But before that she had a home, even thought it was poisonous. And after she did. Icarus had never had. She pressed another kiss to his head and leaned her cheek there.
Balia would never think he was silly for asking. It was a little saddening. She treated the question like it was a normal question. But with a little extra feelings of care for him he deserved in her opinion.
"Well my Ballad, some people look to have places to house keepsakes, bookshelves and furniture that reflects their styles, closets to house your clothes, walls to hang decorations and precious pictures of loved ones you don't have to pack up every so many weeks. And not worry about maybe them getting lost." There was a lot she could say. A lot she was considering for the future. While music would always be a part of her life, especially since she was a Meloetta, she didn't want to do concerts forever. And how to support herself and those she loved... etc. For that future. A nice kitchen for cooking lots of good food, large windows, really nice bathrooms, and buying up some acreage around the house out in the sticks where stalker fans wouldn't think to look for her were all things she was thinking seriously on. That meant she was probably going to be building the house rather than buying it.
"There's other things too. Like the structure of the house and how spacious rooms would be. An extra room or two for friends and family to visit and stay over on holidays. The style of the architecture of the house itself, or outside components. Like if there's a pool, or a big yard, or a front porch. Or if there's neighbors close by or if the place is tucked away for privacy."

Balia wakes up in the wee hours of the morning after a date and presses a little kiss to Icarus' forehead.
Icarus was used to being awake about this early, but he'd grown use to sleeping in just a bit if he had a guest. And it was very easy to sleep in with his beloved Balia next to him. His eyes came open slowly, admiring the beautiful woman who had kissed his forehead.
"Come here, my dear," he started, wrapping an arm around her, "it's too early to be up just yet."
Balia sighed and smiled as he opened his eyes and then moved to pull her back into their slumbering embrace. Softly laughing in her throat at him saying it was too early. "Sounds a little like a limerick or a page from a Dr. Seuss book!" She blushes and smiles, floating a little.
"Hey, you're right!" Kas laughed, reaching up to run a hand through his hair.
"Probably a side effect of reading books to your sibling's kids. I'm starting to turn into a cartoon character!"
She floats up some more so she could rest her folded arms on his shoulder and then rest her chin on her arms.
"My Grandpa had the best reading voice and Dr. Seuss books have a cadence to the sentences that is unrivaled in my opinion. Listening to him read aloud was my favorite thing as a child." She smiled at him and kicked her legs a little in the air.
"You have a really great voice too Mon Ours. And I like that you're so good around kids. It's suuuuper attractive."
