An ego-birth

That which is given to us, without question

A want,

And we want until we want no more

Until desire is deadened

Until our skin peels, stripped down to the bone

The writhing forces of agony

Break barriers into the mortal world

Where flesh meets metal

A question,

Of what we have, here in our hands

While he holds us in the hollow of his hands

Begging to answer,

We need an answer

Even down to the next step taken

Yet not of the first;

no one thinks of the first

We go to our graves with flowers from no one,

Only ourselves and the soil between our toes

Mirrored images of what you once were

Gone tomorrow

Today, I will ask a question

A desire,

Sprouting and splitting untrodden ground

Rising from an unmarked grave

Walking on feet that are no longer my own;

I know it will go unanswered.
