hmm.. you got me thinking of that trial in Quarter Quell. when Katniss heard Prim’s screams? maybe that was it. maybe the mission was to either get intel on this new drug in development but lo behold when it’s experimental, things bound to go tits up and the lab wasnt really that soundly equipped to deal with shit like that and it wasnt even eggsy’s fault that the chemical somehow changes into gaseous state. just that the next thing he knows, he’s hearing Harry screaming and its all ringing in his ears. Merlin is telling him its not real, but they got to have gotten harry’s screaming from somewhere so in Eggsy’s mind, the logical reasoning would be that they have Harry.
it all winded down and the extraction team came in and Eggsy got out, given oxygen to clear his head and he understands that it was all drug induced. but. he just cant risk it, you know? so the moment the jet lands in the Kingsman hangar, he takes the shuttle back to the Shop, walked out and next thing he knows, he’s on harry’s doorsteps soaked to the bone. harry opens the door and he’ll startles, fussing because “Eggsy, where is your coat? Come out of the rain right this instant, you’ll catch your death.” he doesnt know about what happened on the mission, not until Merlin debriefs him the next morning. but what he does know at that moment, is that Eggsy is in distress, he’s distraught, strung up, tense, and his eyes are just a touch wild and searching.
and just keeps staring at Harry.
so Eggsy is bundled up in harry’s towels and bathrobe and tucked under layers and layers of quilt after being fed and watered. harry would see to it that Eggsy falls asleep before he contacts Merlin who promptly answers with “you better have Eggsy with you because Roxy is going mad here and i cant hold her back for long, you know what she’s like”. Harry will answer in the affirmative and he’ll ask, but Merlin will just sigh and says that he’ll send in the report–fuck it– he’ll send the video transmission and see for yourself, Harry.
this whole valentine thing isnt ever going to leave them alone, is it
