Esther Sarto’s “Sleepless” at Talon Gallery.

Opening this coming Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at Talon Gallery in Portland, Oregon is the fascinating solo exhibition of new paintings by artist Esther Sarto.

Exploring the human psyche’s connection to the natural world in scenes that often take on a sense of the supernatural, Esther’s body of work for “Sleepless” moves to the inside of looming, ancient mansions where animals and humans co-exist in mysterious narratives.

“Sleepless” will be on display until August 16th, 2017.

PSSSSN I did some experiments with Corey Johnson [Art of the Glitch] taking actual video loops, my final quicktime files into analog. The result obviously are incredible and this is just a sample of the whole immense video he did. I really love how each frame is digital paint itself, how “natural” a physical glitch could be..So, pipeline is quite odd but I think there’s no order in between making 3D, compositing footage, going backwards and mix everything. I remapped the video in post to see the sequences in a range of 4 frames each.
