It wasn't usually for Andrew to take public transportation. He much rather do any of his commuting in his truck. If it keeps the interactions with others to a minimum, he'll prefer it everytime. But that changed when he met you. You didn't mind taking it. Though when you and Andrew first got together you slowly started to take a break from it. It was no need, not when your boyfriend seemed more than happy to be your little chauffeur.
You can't help but miss your little commute to work, the little walk you got in, the way the sun felt on your skin even when it was hidden by the cloudy sky that still managed to make its presence known. So you brought it up to Andrew, never having a feeling of having to tip-toe around your emotions or at least what was on your mind at the time. The two of you agree on one shift a week where you both would commit to the your comforting commute to work.
Andrew understood, the way you spoke of it, it was as if it was a pre-shift tradition that he came in to uprooted. He wouldn't have such a problem with it if it wasn't for such a late schedule, but he knew that came with the territory of the overnight life. So that might've be the reason it didn't take much to convince him to riding the bus with you. It was the next day, another shift. You had your bag over your shoulder and a cup filled with the only thing that kept you standing by the end of any shift. It was all starting to feel so familiar. Yet there was a difference, one that you didn't mind not one bit.
Andrew hooked himself under the strap of your bag, lifting it up and over your shoulder, with the sudden disappearance of weight you turn to watch him place it on his own shoulder. He gave you a questioning look as you just smiled taking his hand in yours as you left for the bus.
The bus surprisingly came on time. Andrew was right behind you, paying your fare for you both, slipping in a five, Y'all walked further on the bus. It wasn't packed leaving plenty of seats. You thought Andrew would prefer being closer to the back. So that's what you did, Andrew was attached to your hip, sitting not even a second later.
"You really like the bus ride?” Andrew ask genuine curiosity in his tone.
You look over at him, his back was straightened as his eyes continued to study the bus, the bus was at a red light giving him some time to glance your way.
"Mhm, I do a lot of thinking, sometimes a little work." The bus ride was a smooth thirty minutes long, not super long but definitely enough to save you a handful of times. That answer earned you a little hum from your boyfriend.
You put your hands in your pockets feeling your wires, you pulled them out. "Want to listen to music with me?"
He nodded his head, his eyes cut over to look down as you untangled the core, connecting to your phone. You hand it to him, which surprised him. He raised an eyebrow as a silent request to explain. "You pick," you placed one side of the earbuds in his ear, and the other in yours, before leaning your head against his shoulder.
He glanced at your phone which was now in his hand, he scrolled through your list of songs. But he decided to go more personal. He finally selected a song. "Reminds me of you."
With that, the song started to play. It was 'never too much' by Luther Vandross. You couldn't help but smile, thinking back to the days when you randomly liked to play music for Andrew to broaden his taste. This song was the time that played when Andrew first kissed you.
With the lyrics that played in the background coming up.
Jack has been holding onto a secret, usually he has no problem keeping them, but when the secret involve you? Worse, keeping it from you. Well it feels like the hardest thing to do when it comes to him. He was doing it though, staying strong. Even when it feels like the universe is against him, like right now.
There are two things that really stood out. First it was when your one of your friends got engaged, which turned into planting a little bug in your head that's already been digging in his brain for months now. Second thing was seeing you with his nieces.
This was more recent, and it was enough to give him a little idea of what like would look like when you two got married and started a family. That practically ruined him. It got to the point where Robby and Dana dragged his ass out to at least look at some rings.
He ended up buying one that day…
Robby and Dana weren't surprised that Jack already had your ring size, the way he talked about it, every hangout would end up being about the idea of you two getting married. They would be disgusted if it wasn't him. In all honesty they were just glad to see their friend so happy. Now what he didn't account for was his subconscious trying to fuck him and spoil everything.

"I'm not being dramatic."
We're the words that finally wake you up out of your sleep, eyes blinking a couple of times, trying to get the sleep out of your eyes, peaking up to the time that was projected onto the ceiling. It was meant for your husband, but it feels like you're using it more than him, it's like he's in a daze, rolling over, getting his prosthetic on, getting out of bed, all without opening his eyes for more than a couple of seconds. He doesn't fully liven up until he gets his coffee.
You were already facing him, in a rare occurrence where Jack isn't tangled up with your body. The natural moonlight shining thought just enough that the four-sixteen on the ceiling didn't fully show, it was still early enough to go back to sleep, then you realized. Jack's eyes were closed, which brought a smile to your tired face.
It wasn't offered that this happened, but every time it does it's hilarious.
"I don't know, you could be sometime," you whispered, knowing he couldn't hear you, that was until.
"Not about this, I know she is," Jack replied, like actually replied as if he was awake. You never really tried to before, instead just watching and listening to his little murmured outburst until they became less and less.
You couldn't help but have your interest peeked at whom this 'she' might be, even though deep down you know it's you. He shows you every day that you're his one and only girl. "She is what Jackie?"
He let out a huff which you translated into sometime of laugh, "Robin, y'gotta pay attention. The one, she's the one. That spark I never thought I would ever have again." You try not to laugh, you will have to apologize to Robby for getting him in trouble. "Right, sorry?"
you took in how peaceful he looks, how his curls are so wild, how his chest rises and falls slowly and even. Your fingers danced along his freckled arms, which were lying flat against his midsection. "She makes you that happy, huh?"
He smiled, even in his sleep, letting out a satisfied hum. The small gesture made you heart explode. The idea of, the thought of you bringing that much joy to him. "So god-damn lucky, I'm going to mar-"
You panicked, your hand flying up to cover his mouth, all you could see was your boyfriend's eyes shoot open, and a hand wrapping around your wrist. He automatically studied you to see if it was anything physical wrong that he could see, before he pulled your hand away. "Are you okay?"
You couldn't help but blush. "I'm okay, you were just sleep talking, again" You looked down at him, taking his hand into yours, you could see the confusion etched on his face still. "I think you were about to say something I wasn't supposed to hear."
It's like the switch was flicked on, his eyes widened. A slight panic took over. "I didn't say anything..."
You shook your head. "I didn't really give you the chance."
Jack leaned up to kiss you. "See, this is why I love you. Sweetheart"
You smiled, saying, I love you back. That's when jack started to get up to get out of bed. Grabbing his crutches that were leaning against the nightstand.
"Where are you going?" You pouted.
"Couch, I'll get you some earplugs tomorrow," he kissed you once again this time on your forehead before leaving the room for the night. That was way too close for his liking...

Brunch Attempt - T.D
Wc: 981 ( wow...)
༻ ♰─ ♱ ─♰༺
You were taken out of your sleep from the smell of smoke? It was faint, so much so you thought you were dreaming. Once you did wake up, without turning your head you used your hand to feel around, tapping the cold bed a couple of times before reluctantly getting out of bed. You were felt more alert, but still not panicked yet.
You opened the bedroom door, it was quiet. With the light chirping from neighboring birds filling in the space. It made sense given the distance from any of the main rooms that would normally have the most foot traffic, as per your husband's request.
As the dark, never-ending halls finally had a break of light admitting from a room in the close distance. It was the kitchen, you knew that by the sounds of movement becoming more noticeable at you approached. It was slightly frantic, heavy. Footsteps steps you grow to be able to identify as your husband’s.
"Titus?"
You called out to him, the movement stopped, 'Did he just stop in his tracks, literally?'
It is definitely one of the thoughts that crossed your mind at that moment.
"The kitchen, Love" He finally answered.
"What are you doing' up so early?" you added, finding yourself moving farther down the hall. The open door was getting closer by the second, and so was the strength of the smell of something burning.
You were welcomed to the sight of what only screamed being ‘boarder-line overwhelmed’. Titus held a pot, placing down… well, you're not really sure what it was exactly it is by your eyes met Titus as he shifted a little.
Titus's eyes shot up to your standing form in the doorway, arms crossed over itself with a face that read one question.
'What the hell is going on?'
"Was trying to make you something' for breakfast ," he admitted in defeat.
"You were? Why would-"
"You mentioned it." He didn't mean to cut you off, but he just couldn’t help it, always having an impulse to justify his actions, no doubt from his time living with his father. "How much you love cooking with someone?" There was a flushed look on his face.
You raised an eyebrow, you had been with this man for years. Never have you seen him like this, his face having spots of flour? Some even got on his pajama shirt. A couple of dishes are freshly washed, while others are ignored. The biggest problem being that pot that he held. It was completely burnt at the center of it.
"Oh," you do remember saying that, it was a passing comment. Nothing real behind those words. You smiled, walking closer to the seemingly stressed taller man. "You didn't have to go through all that, My love."
You look around at what was supposed to be breakfast. "So, what was on the menu?" You say playfully, reaching over to one of the few pieces of bacon that made it out the oven alive. Taking a piece, popping it in your mouth to snack on.
Titus's eyes followed yours. He appreciates how calm you're being over the messed-up kitchen. He wasn't used to such treatment, not to this degree. "I wanted to try," he shrugged, "clearly, I’m not meant for the kitchen."
"Eggs, bacon and pancakes, simple. So I thought." Titus finished giving you the run down of the supposed menu.
You nod as you hold back the laugh you wanted to let out, at your husband pout. You could see little bits and pieces of proof of his attempt, maybe attempts.. of each item. "Well, maybe we should start with someone being with you." You started, eye studying his reaction to the idea of learning to cook before you spoke again.
"I know someone who's pretty good at it once the apron is on. Who! Is a thousand percent down to help you learn." You smiled, rounding the island table, wrapping your arms around his shoulders, not caring for the mess.
Now it was his turn to raise an eyebrow, a smirk already forming on his face. "Oh, do you now?" He lowered the pot, forgetting about it, his damped hands going to your waist, facing you fully now. "I mean if she's offering." He signed, a small so effort one just to be dramatic. "But, I much rather work this sexy woman in front of me. That i somehow get the pleasure of calling my wife." His tone was playful, it was always with you. Hands quick to pull you closer.
"Well, I guess you're the luckiest man on earth. Because that's exactly what you get, handsome." One of your hands moving up, to rest on the back of his head. Gently, you guide him closer to you cutting the distance, as your lips meeting his.
Your eyes closed as you leaned into his embrace, his hands snaking farther around your waist, trapping into the kiss. It wasn't until his tongue peaked out begging for permission did you break the kiss. Smiling between uneven breaths as his lips followed yours for a little before giving up pursuit when you got too far. "So when do you want your first lesson?"
He was disappointed the kiss had ended, not wanting it to end just yet. His eyes already showing it, eyes locked on yours. ‘Smiling too? you must be enjoying this.’ That's when he heard it. Ears peeking at the question. "Now?" Then he took in the mess he had already created.
"If you want"
His eyes shot back to yours.
"We just need to clean the mess. It's not a lot. You did pretty well cleaning as you go." You can still see his eyes peak down at the pot.
"Just trash the pot, honey. We can always get a new one." You give him one more little kiss to the lips before rolling your sleeves up.
"New set," he replied, you had an amused look as you watched him discard the ruined pot. "To practice with…" he finished off once he noticed the face you were giving him.
"Right, whatever you say, Love."

Sunday Football - B.R

Brett has been a sports fan, ever since he was young. It was just something that him and his dad could sit around and bond over. But as the years passed, it shifted to a more personal appreciation for sports. It became something he could genuinely enjoy outside the job, the past couple years even more than usual.
Then you came along, and he had a new person to share his love for the game with.
︵‿୨♡୧‿︵
A whistle came from the TV, followed by an annoyed groaning from your boyfriend. You couldn't help but smile to yourself, washing your face with a cleaner, eyes following the movement of your hand in the mirror. You had slept in, with it just turning twelve. Even so you still wanted to do your morning routine before joining Brett on the couch.
You were wrapping up when he called out for you
"I think I need my lucky charm, baby," you rolled your eyes at his, 'stupid nickname' for you, yet you couldn't help but smile to yourself.
︵‿୨♡୧‿︵
You remember after your third date he insisted on calling you that. Ever since you two had a home date, Brett had been sneakily checking his phone. The whole date, that was until you confronted him.
"Is there somewhere you're needed?"
You would think was deer the way Brett looked at you, like he was caught in headlights. "No, it's not like that." He said sheepishly,
"Well?"
He sighed, not out of annoyance or frustration, more so out of embarrassment of getting caught looking at his phone on a date. "It's the game, it's on right now,"
You playfully groan, "Great, now I have to compete with sports too."
"Wait, it's not like that- You wouldn't." Brett tried to defend.
You had a smile on your face, but once you could see the worry on his face, you straightened up on your couch.
"It's okay, I know." You paused for a moment. "Would you want to watch the game? Maybe this movie could be saved for our next date."
His eyes widened, before a smile came onto his face, a slight uptick that was on the thin line of being a smirk. "Our next date?"
You shoved his shoulder, of course thats what he picked to zone in on out of your offer.
You snuggled into his side, as you two watched the game, winning after a three-game losing streak. Barely awake by the time the game ended, only knowing when you felt Brett's lips against your forehead, as he picked you up whispering ‘goodnight, lucky' that night before you fully passed out in his arms.
︵‿୨♡୧‿︵
"Here I come," you replied back, going to your now shared bedroom. You looked around for something to put on. That's when you saw it. It was a jersey, but it wasn't a pro. No, this one was old and worn. You smiled, plucking it out of the closet, turning it around your thumb over the vinyl that was in the shape of a 'R'. You remembered him mentioning his stint in sports during his school days.
You slipped it on, the end of the jersey stopping at just above your knees. You wouldn't be too cruel slipping on some panties and pajama shorts,
Finally, you stopped outside the room, his eyes were on his phone, probably texting his friends about the game. The first half had already ended. The commentators were taking their moment to share their thoughts and some stats from the game.
As your relationship with Brett grew, so did your ability to pick up on small things about the game that normally you wouldn't have noticed. Like when things were starting back up, players were making their way onto the field, you took this as your opportunity to sit next to him without your attire being noticed yet.
︵‿୨♡୧‿︵
You were starting to lose hope as the game continued. It was two minutes of the fourth, it seemed like his team was down the way he was at the edge of his seat, one hand intertwined with yours.
His team had the ball, giving them one more attempt to close the three-point game, with only ten yards for a touchdown.
You squeezed his hand and gave him silent support.
He brought the back of his hand up, kissed it.
The whistle went off, the play was in motion. After a couple of seconds, the QB snapped the ball, faking the pass to run it into the end zone for the good ol classic 'QB sneak'. Getting the touchdown with thirty seconds on the clock, both teams hurried to get the ball off with no luck. Brett's team won.
"You just keep on proving' why you're my lucky charm," he had a cocky tone in his voice. It was quickly snubbed when he finally noticed what you were wearing.
"Where did you—?"
"Your closets, or should I say ours?" you shrugged, as his eyes studied you.
"You can call it whatever you'd like, Sweetheart." He said, guiding you to now being on his lap, 'Oh, that's just plain evil,' he thought to himself, placing his hand on your waist, feeling the shorts you had underneath.
"Now, how about a post-game celebration?"
You could only laugh as his antics, but then one of his fingers went under your chin, leaning forward to meet you half way to embrace your lips with his.

This was perfect, that's the only thought that would come to Andrew's mind right now. Crazy as that might seem, sitting on the floor of an empty house. The only thing illuminating the house was a single lamp your new neighbors didn't want anymore.
"Only two more days without, well, everything." You couldn't help but laugh. Your head was resting on his shoulder, dinner a fading memory with the only reminder being the plastic cups half empty with some wine you got from a store on your way home.
"No rush" how could he? When your shared home will finally have something in it, to make it feel like a place that is filled with love, and, best of all, the little pieces of you. The ones he only saw when he would come over.
You hummed in acknowledgment, you looked around at the open space of your new home. "You know... with all this space," you pulled out your phone, scrolling through your playlists to the one you named 'Andy's radio station,' which was basically filled with all the songs he mentioned he liked. "I think it's a perfect time for you to show me those dancing skills" you wiggle your eyebrows at him
It earned you a huffed laugh from Andrew. That didn't stop him from following your lead in getting up. You placed your phone on the edge of the window. Pushing the shuffle button, you reach out for his hand, pulling him closer to you and away from your cups.
The song starts, you can't help but smile up at Andrew as you guide his hands to your waist. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders next. "I remember this song," you remembered the day you added it to your playlist.
You and he weren't officially together yet. But close, it was the night before you had officially asked you out on a date. Both of you were the last two at The Drop. Andrew was staying back to clean a little, and you didn't mind staying to keep him company.
You suggested playing some music. To your surprise, he requested some Sam Cooke. He's got some good taste.
You assumed he was in his head, or maybe really into the music, because you got closer, trying to see if it's something small you could do that he would let you help him with.
He just so happened to turn. The soap, yellow dish washing gloves moved quickly once he felt something... you bumped into him.
He felt like a damn house. The way he turned was so fast, you didn't have the chance to move out of his way, how here you were saved from falling by one of his arms wrapped around your mid back and the other at your waist?
You two were quiet, just staring in each other's eyes for a moment, the song still playing in the background. You broke away first, you excused yourself that night. While Andrew knew he was never coming back from that.
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
'And let your arrow go,' 🎶
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
The lyrics brought you back, you were swaying side to side with Andrew, he had placed his chin onto your head, "It's my favorite," he whispered, holding you closer. "Knew I had to stop being scared," now a gentle kiss to the top of your head.
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
'Cupid, please hear my cries' 🎶
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
"Scared?" You look up at him, he never told you that.
"Yea," he shrugged. Until he heard you call him that name. 'Andy', it sounded so sweet coming from your lips. "I didn't want to ruin anything." He finally admitted.
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
'Now, I don't mean to bother you, but I'm in distress' 🎶
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
"Can't imagine how you could," you brought your hands past his chest, slipping under his arms at his sides, pulling him in for a closer hug.
He stiffened, just for a moment. But he just couldn't help it. His softness is something he never means, he never thought he could be on the receiving end of. That stiffening was quickly snubbed out at your smaller, warm hand rub against his upper back. "Because you're an angel that can see the good in anyone."
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
'There's a danger of me losing all of my happiness,' 🎶
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
He pulled back just enough to look you in the eyes "like me."
It got quiet, but not a tense one. No, it was one of those where you like the words to hang for a little bit. You laid your cheek against his chest, letting his hands guide your swaying hips, his tempo was slow, fitting for the dim room, with a corner of warmth coming from the floor.
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
'For I love a girl who doesn't know I exist, And this you can fix' 🎶
So, Cupid, draw back your bow, And let your arrow go' 🎶
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
"Anyone with eyes should be able to see the good in you, not just me." Your words were honest, as your tone was gentle, hoping your words would actually get to him. Not like you would stop trying if they didn't.
Andrew didn't say anything, not much of a surprise. What a surprise, the sudden disappearance of Andrew's presence pressed against you. Being spun around into a little dip, he still didn't speak, his eyes just focused on you, so big but steady, filled with nothing but love and adoration. His lips found yours, silencing the shocked sounds you made.
"Lena is still sleeping, Honey," his voice cuts in heavy, breaking the kiss reluctantly. That didn't stop that sly smirk from showing itself on his face.
· · ─ ·🎧· ─ ·
'Now cupid, Don't you hear me, Calling you? I need you' 🎶
'Cupid' 🎶
'Don't fail me' 🎶
The song played out, slowly fading into the next...

In the three months you and Jack have been together, you have not seen this man shirtless not once. Really, the farthest you have all gone is some fully-clothed dry humping and him eating you out like a man starved.
You don't mind going slow though, that doesn't stop the curiosity in you to grow. It slowly became a game of cat and mouse, with you trying to peak and see what must be hidden underneath.
It wasn't until a random day you two decided to have a sleepover that you would see what was such a big deal. (a title you, of course, gave it) Usually you would text him when you were pulling up to his place, just to give him a little heads up.
Well, today you couldn't, on the phone, something to do with your job. So you used the key you rarely ever used. Jack, being the man that he is, had made it a habit to just unlock the door when he got the text.
Not this time, it didn't seem like he was going to see your message anyway, which you would soon see why as you went straight to his bedroom, kinda expecting to see the grey-haired man lying in bed with a new book from his best friend, Robby? Who seems to have a long list for your boyfriend to read up on.
Nope, you were delightfully surprised to see him freshly out of the shower, water droplets cascading down his back muscles. Each droplet makes its own pattern, using its freckled-based skin as guidance. You don't know what to look at first, your eyes taking in as much as you can.
"You're staring, sweetheart," he tooted his lips to the side in a tight, contained smile. He didn't even spare you a glance. Just readjusting the crutch that was under his arm to help him around the house.
You rolled your eyes at his smugness. "Well, some of us haven't gotten the chance to see their boyfriend even a little bit naked," you uttered back, crossing your arms.
He turned around to speak, shifting his weight to the crutch to do so. He must've forgotten how low his towel was, or how high his tattoo was? Either way you saw it, the sight alone muffled out the surrounding noise, including Jack. Even if it was in your sight just for a moment. It was words, inked on Jack's stomach, it was a few inches away from his navel area. The thought alone had your head spinning, you never really thought it would be a tattoo. He just didn't seem like the type.
He must've followed your eyes because they sure as hell did drop with his movement. He cleared his throat, drawing your attention back up to meet his gaze, not missing the way he readjusted his towel around his waist, bringing it higher. Was that a red tint to his ears?
"You're right, that isn't fair." That ever-so-calm feeling he brings was back. The tips of his ears slowly coming back to normal. With his newly discovered ink locked away again, hidden by the soft material of his towel, while using the crutch tucked underneath his arm. He shuffled over to you, the irregular footsteps creaked under the weight on the wooden flooring. His one hand going to your chin, "Want to see more of me, pretty girl?" He raised an eyebrow like there was even a reason to ask that.
"Yes," your bottom lip was gently caught against your teeth only for a moment before jack used the pad of his thumb to free your bottom lip, ghosting over the soft tissue of skin.
"Yes, what?" His voice was low and controlled.
Your voice, on the other hand, was not. "Yes, please?"
He let out a dry laugh, "That sounded like more of a question to me. Do you, or do you not? Sweetheart?"
God, you love it when he was so clear-cut like that.
"Yes, Sir. I want to see more of you." Your hand went up to his towel. Tugging at it like it was a stubborn bow that didn't want to be undone.
"Tch, Tch. Someone gotta learn patience."
He had the nerve to lean down to your ear, while his hand slides across your jaw, letting his thumb glide down your neck against your pulse point, you just know he can feel how fast he has your heart thumping.
"I'm sorry, just… really want to see all of you. The way you seen all of me."
With the towel tucked and secured, it allowed him to place a hand on your waist, guiding you with an uneven step to the bed. He sat down first, placing the crutch to the side, still in arms distance.
"Come, sit right here. Baby" He patted his lap as a silent request to accompany his vocal one. He let out a sigh, a good one, one that seemed like he only lets out around the people he can trust, like you. The thought made your heart flutter and cocoons hatch into butterflies in your stomach. Once you were safely in his lap, his hands, now both free to rest on your hips, couldn't resist the urge to palm your ass while he was there.
He didn't move, not an inch. "Is this your way of teaching me patience, Jackie?" Your hips rolled down against him. Earning you a muted groan and his fingers digged into the padded globes of your ass that threatened to leave a bruise. His breath fanning against the slightly sweat-coated skin not having the luxury of taking a shower just yet. But he didn't seem to mind as his tongue laid flat, licking up his neck.
"Maybe, it doesn't seem like you're getting the message though." He pulled away from your neck. "Stand up for a second and close your eyes."
You gave him a raised questioning eyebrow before you stood up, closing your eyes.
He removed the towel, letting his aching cock finally feel the cool air of the room. You really can't stay still for the life of yourself, watching as you sway slightly his eyes slightly following the movement of your hips, wishing to see your bare skin doing the movement.
He reached out, pulling at the hem of his work pants, he saw his eyes peek open: "Close them, love. No peaking. I don't need to blindfold now, do I?" He smiled to himself, seeing the little bob in his throat as you swallowed whatever you were originally going to say back down. Deciding on a simple head nod, "Sweetheart", there was no real emotion behind it, just a plain statement he knew he didn't have to say more.
"No, Sir. I can keep my eyes closed" fuck a part of you hated how much he craves you. Whether it's forcing you to be vocal, the eye contact, the way he just doesn't shut up until you're fully talked through, it is a trembling mess beneath him.
"Good girl. Take off your pants for me, Sweetheart. Nice and slow," before his hand fully left you, he brought his other hand up, placing it on your waist. Before you could even start, he turned you around. "There we go, Such a pretty little sight." He mumbled to himself, but, of course, you heard, young ears "Go ahead."
'This old perv,' you thought to yourself with a smile on your face. He likes to deny it, but he's definitely an ass man.
You slowly unbutton your pants doing a little sway of your hips, nothing crazy. Just wanting to get his attention, you had it alright the sound of his hands moving against his dark blue sheets.
He leaned back using one hand to balance on, while his other hand went to his thigh. Teasing himself, his loose leg hairs tickling the pad of his fingers before his palm was flatly against his warm skin.
You have undone the button and zipper. Your fingers hooking itself in the belt loops. Your movement had a slowness to it almost deliberately with no attempt to hide it.
He inhaled deeply, his hand finally wrapping itself around his already hardened cock. He took his hand off for just a moment, licking his hand for a little slick, giving himself a few pumps, watching your hips teasing dance to the beat inside your head.
"Didn't know you like a little strip tease action, Jackie?" Your tone was airy in a teasing type of way.
The smooth cotton material felt hot compared to the crisp air of the room. You worked your pants off, gliding them past your hips, bending over farther just a little until you felt like you gave him enough of a view of your panties practically glued to your pussy. Give him a clear outline of your folds. You let it drop and pool around your ankle before stepping out of the pants fully moving them to the side with your foot.
"It's a lot you don't know about me yet," Hun leaned forward, guiding him to step backwards closer to him. "Plenty I want to learn about though." He placed a kiss on your lower back just below where your shirt ended.
"Like what?" your hand reached back to rest on his shoulder.
His hands went up your sides until he was high enough to cup your breast in his hand, feeling the weight in his palm. "Just how good of a listener you can be," one hand dropped onto your stomach, pushing down slightly, gesturing to get you to follow.
You dropped your hand from his shoulder. Now seated on his lap, gasping at the feeling of his length finally coming in contact with your folds. It took everything in you not to grind against him. "I can be good."
"I have no doubt that you can, Sweetheart. Will you? Will you be good for me?" His hips rolled against yours, giving you a little something. He could feel just how wet you had gotten.
"Fuck, yes. Jack, I'll be good." You nodded your head eagerly, as he rested on his shoulder.
"Okay, Honey. Let's put that to the test, huh?" He turned his head to face your ear. "I want you to turn around and face me," he kissed your cheek.
You do as you're told, pulling away from his warm skin just enough to turn around. Your eyes were about to drop to look at his cock, but Jack stops you. His had cupped your chin.
"I want your eyes on me, if you can't take it close them. Understand?"
Shit, he never really spoke to you like that, in that tone. It was always soft and calming. Not now it was commanding that it left no room for actual back talk. "I understand… Sir," you kept your eyes on his. Now allowed sitting down on his lap, your legs were set just outside of his, relying on your knees as your hands went to his shoulders
"Start moving those sexy hips a little, Yeah?" He moved his hips along his length, setting that slow pace. "Just like that. So natural at it baby. Fuck at you go."
You let out a whine, his eyes looking down at your panty covered pussy grinding down against him. His hips buckling against you, the sight of your thighs starting to tremble made him want to abort his whole plan and fuck you here and now. But he didn't. Instead, he brought his eyes up to yours. "I'm sorry, you want to see my eyes, don't you?"
"Mhmm uh" you hummed to focus on bringing yourself closer to cumming. Your eyes were closed and head was tilted back by the time he looked back up at you. One hand moving from his shoulders to the side of his neck. Your thumb rubbing inconsistently against his jaw. While the rest of your fingers were at the base of his hair, weaving your fingers through his grey curls.
"Can you-?" You didn't even get to finish, as if he read your mind. He started to buck his hips against yours, matching his preset pace.
"Of course I can. But I want you to do something for me. You think you can do that?" His words were a little uneven and his breathing got heavy. But he still had that voice, that could guide you through pretty much anything.
"What?" You answered thoughtlessly, mumbling against his neck, deciding to hide your face there.
"I want you to take over. Let me keep up with your pace. Sounds nice, don't it?" He let go of your hips, one hand taking action to pull you away from his neck to see your face. While your other hand goes up your sides, his left thumb brushing against the underside of your breast.
You nod your head. As you let out a shuttered breath, "Y-yes, just a little faster?" It wasn't a genuine question, more like a thought that slipped out your mouth. Your hips roll faster, more desperate.
Using one hand, his hand went under his shirt, unhooking the bra after the second attempt. You helped it take it off, reaching for the hem of your shirt, but he stopped you.
"Keep it on." Both his hands teasing your nipples over your shirt. "You like it when the fabric rubs against you, huh? Sweetheart?"
Your hip buckle messing up your set pace. "I'm close," you cling onto him, his thighs flexing. Your breathing picking up. "Fuck, Baby. I'm cumming" your hips stopped in place, trembling against his lap.
You held onto Jack as you came down from your high. You pull back to see Jack's eyes were looking down. You followed his. That's when you officially see it. Eyes widened. Not only did Jack have a tattoo, but it said 'it won't suck itself.'
Jack smirked. "Take a picture while you're at it."
Hell, if you could even remember where it was, your problem would've been. Instead, you kissed your way down his neck, slowly peeling off his lap to lower yourself. Making your way down past his chest. His hand is going to your hair. Not pulling or guiding, just a place to feel connected to you.
"What's doing, Sweetheart?" It wasn't like he was complaining. But a second ago, you could barely keep your eyes open. Now here you are full of energy, kissing down every inch of his body.
"You got the tattoo for a reason, right?" Is all you say, when you reached his cock, your attention being redirected from the conversation to making him cum. He was closing the light breaths against the underside and watching it twitch up close in person only made his mouth water more.
"Shit, I guess you're right. I'm not going to stop you," his hips jerked up your breath, fanning the sensitive, slick-coated underside of his cock. His hand tightened in your hair before relaxing again. He knew you would treat him just right all on your own.
Which you did, taking him inside your mouth. Starting at a slow pace at first, getting used to taking him inch by inch. You started to bob your head, picking up the pace. He was close, you could tell from his uneven breathing, the way his hips would buckle no matter how much he tried to hold back out of respect. Or the way he looked at you through his eyelashes and heavy eyes.
"I'm close, Sweetheart. Ready for me?"
You hum around his cock nodding your head slightly. Within a couple of seconds, you felt the warmth of his cum pour down your throat.
You slowly pulled off, swallowing ever drop. Opening your mouth, sticking your tongue out showing it was all good, smiling up at him.
He looked down at removing his hand from his hair going to his chin. Thumb ghosting over your button lip, guiding you closer. Kissing your lips. "Did so fucking good for me."

After a little tcl with him wiping you down with a warm rag, and some water for both of you. You could finally have him in your arms, his body tangled up in yours, his breathing just a little uneven from his orgasm.
After a few moments of silence, you let the question on your mind go free.
"So were you ever going to tell me about that?" your fingers trace the lettering with the tip of your finger. You could feel his muscles flex under your touch.
"The thing I have been regretting for the past couple of years? Never if possible," his hand trailed up the side of your arm. His calloused hand traveling down to your hip as you sat up and faced him. "But I know you will see it sooner rather than later."
"Never?!" You faced a faux pout. "I can't believe you would do that to me." You wiggle your eyebrows. "Oh, so, you had something planned, a grand reveal."
"Please," he rolled his eyes at your drama. "It's nothing special, just a drunken, twenty-year-old mistake. With no grand reveal deserving of it. Probably would've just asked and shown if you said yes."
You wiggled out of his grasp, taking your spot to straddle his hip. "First, of course, I would've said yes. Second, I have to thank twenty-year-old you." You lean down placing a kiss on his lips. "Clear, cut instructions. I think even if I was tipsy I would be able to follow them."
"Easy, Sweetheart. Don't start something you know I can make you not be able to finish." That didn't stop the pulse of his cock, which he knows didn't go unnoticed by you.
"I'd like to see you try, old man," you make your move to straddle him again. "I'm ready for you."

"So why did you even pick 'it won't suck itself?' Was there a girl you had in mind?" you teased. It'd been a week since you seen it, but the thought just came to mind.
He was blushing, caught off guard by the question. But not about the phase instead of the reference to it being a girl that was on his mind… but that's a conversation for another day.
Summary: you went to a conference for a couple days. Parker missed you and couldn't wait to show you just how much.

Parker's head was in between his thighs. Her slightly larger hands wrapped tight around your thighs to keep you in place. As her tongue stuck out, doing a slow drag along your folds. "So perfect," she mumbled to herself.
One of your hands snaked its way through her locks, nails massaging her scalp. "Too much," you whisper between heavy breaths. You have lost count of how many times you came or how long she's been at it.
In all honesty, as soon as you entered your shared home, Parker had her hands on you leading you to the couch, dropping to her knees all before she even opened her mouth she said, 'Welcome home', but you weren't complaining. Not when she finally spreads your folds, wrapping her lips around your jumping clit, flicking the nerves with her skilled tongue.
"Too much?" She pulled back, a smirk appearing on her face when hearing the disappointed groan when she left her lips. Her hair dropped as your hand left her hair due to the widened distance. The sounds you make were always more like music to her ears. "That's not what she's saying?"
You shutter, barely feeling her thumb against your clit. She was always such a tease. "She?" Your head was foggy. Your critical thinking went out the window with your third orgasm.
"I think you know what I meant by that, Love." But just to help you, her hand cupped itself before coming down to give your puffy cunt a little spank. Watching you clench around nothing. "Oh, I think she likes it, don't you think?" She kept her hand against your glossy skin, rubbing side to side, giving you a little stimulation to the bundle of nerves.
"F-fuck. Ells, I like it" your hip jerked. Letting out a sigh of relief as her hand rubbed over the stingy area up and down your slit, her warm palm smoothing the slick covered folds.
Parker gently pinched your clit for the mistake. "Baby," Her voice carried a knowing tone as one of her eyebrows raised.
"She…she likes it." You nod your head eagerly as your hips rolled against her hand.
"That's right, honey." Her hand traveled down and over your thigh. "You think she's got one more for her?"
"Yes baby. One more. She's got one more for you." You reached down to her chin, guiding her to get closer. "Kiss?"
She smiled, "You don't have to ask me twice." She closed the distance. Her lips connected with yours. You could taste yourself still on her tongue. "You taste that? My favorite fucking taste." Her lips were mere inches away from yours, her breath fanning over yours.
"You wouldn't believe what mine is?" You say, teasingly, rolling your hip against hers. Wishing she was as naked as you were right now. To feel her skin against yours more.
She let out a dry laugh. "I think I got an idea."
She started her kisses slow and light, her lips starting with your jaw, then your neck. Her mouth stopped at your exposed chest. She could spend hours giving them the attention they need. She started with the right one, her tongue flicking out to the pebbled nipple.
Lips quickly wrapped around the bud, pulling back slightly, tugging lightly.
You let out the sweetest little moan, almost made her want to skip all the teasing and bring her tongue where she really wanted. Instead, she took her right hand up to your knee, rubbing the skin before moving her hand farther up. Her fingers dancing over your inner thigh watching your softened muscles clench under her fingertips.
"So responsive today. You missed me as much as I missed you?" Her lips unlatched from your nipple as she spoke, leaving the skin glistening from the light from the lamp on the side table near the couch. Not moving that far away as she kissed the other neglected one.
"Of course, I missed you," your voice was airy, hips grinding against her hand. "Thought about you the whole time I was gone." Your hand came up to her hair again. Tightening your grip once her lips your other nipple to fend against the cool air of the room. ’T-those pictures didn't help."
"Like them? Which one did you like the most?" Her kisses trailed down your stomach until she got to your mound. Clearly waiting for a response before continuing.
"I think…shit" Her fingers clearly didn't get the memo as two fingers pushed past your folds, being welcomed by your tight walls.
"Keep going. I'm listening, baby." Her voice was low and calm.
"The gym one," you stated slowly. "I like the way your back muscles looked in the first one." Your voice trailed off as your head tilted to the side. Eyes closed, trying to focus on your response to Parker. "Umm" as you try to think back on the other pictures, Parker's voice cut through.
"Eyes, baby. I want to see your eyes."
You turned your head back to face forward. Looking down to see her eyes were indeed already on you. Because she looked so fucking good on her knees like that, the way the light made her glow.
You took a breath like she taught you. "I like the little smirk that you had in the second one…where you were flexing your biceps. Even though I thought that day was legs…your voice started to get quiet as this feeling at the back of your throat started to build up.
You gasped, her lips finally embracing your clip again after all that teasing, but this time, with the company of two fingers curling inside you, which made your brain want to stop working, but of course, your girlfriend wouldn't be so nice.
"Keep going, I remember sending you a couple more. What do you like about them?" In all honesty, she just wanted to hear you talk. The way you try and fight to keep your voice even and not let those sounds shine through always fails. She learned to read you like a book. But always excited to read what's on the next page.
"I—I don't remember…"
"I think you do. Or would that voice message you sent me jog your memory?" Her voice carried a tone that came off as teasing.
You shuttered the night you sent it. You remember it was late, you were running all over the place, barely able to check your phone if it wasn't a call or email. You had just settled in the bed of the hotel you were staying at.
You and Parker were sending voice messages all day, not having time to type. You had just listened to her final voice message which mentioned some pictures to help you relax.
You thought it was going to be something cute and sweet like the others from earlier that day. Your eyes widen. Did she? Your fingers moved fast to your photos to see if any photos were added to a folder that you two shared together. Yup, there it was three things were added.
Two pictures and one video. The hottest thing you have ever seen and the best thing you need at the moment.
Your hands moved before your brain could talk yourself out of it. You dropped your phone to besides you were fumbling with your button down. Hands quickly going to your pants, stripping yourself down to your underwear. Using one hand to hold your phone, click on the first picture.
She just had to get out of the shower. The picture was cut off, so nothing over the chin showed, her in a towel that was barely high enough to cover her chest. Water droplets still clinging to her body. Her hair was down, she probably washed her hair too.
You thumb swiped to the next picture as your free hand teased your nipples through your bra. Your eyes scanning the second picture. She was lying in bed now, she was in one of your shirts from years ago. She didn't have a bra on. Fucking you felt like such a perv for noticing the way her nipples were strained against the fabric. Her chain lying so pretty against her neck.
Then your thumb swiped to the video. You played it, eyes studying the video like it was some type of game film. You felt your breath hitch hearing her smooth voice admitting from the speaker of your phone. Which was just high enough you could hear. 'Did she make a video of her talking me through it while she…'
You were taken out of your thoughts by Parker. By the look on her face, it wasn't the first time she had called your name.
"Hey, hey. Where are you going?" Her fingers slowed down until they came to a complete stop and were removed from your greedy cunt who didn't want to let her go. She wanted to get a sense of where her head was at.
You shook your head. "Just thinking about the pictures… and video." Pushing the few locks that fell on her face, smiling as you got to see her face better. "It really helped me unwind, I appreciate it."
"You know I'm always going to be there for you. Come on, put your legs over my shoulders, Sweetheart." Her hands moved to take both of yours into hers. Resting all your hands against your hip area, keeping you in place.
"Want me to keep going? Go ahead, tell me what you want." Her voice was velvety, keeping her tone even just how she knew she liked it.
Nodding your head eagerly, you pulled at her hair, gently urging her to go exactly where she knows you want her.
"Mhm," she hummed before she continued, "That's it, take what you need, Love." Your hips grinding against her mouth, the sounds of both of you mixed together. Parker could tell you were close when your hips faltered from the pace too often, or the way you tried to pull away.
Parker kept his hands in hers, her face following your hips, her tongue lapping all your sweet, tangy juice that was practically leaking from your entrance. "You going to cum? Go ahead. Be my good girl"
That was the last thing you needed, your back arching off the couch, your thighs trembling around her head as your hand squeezed Parker's tight, letting out a moan.
"That's right, Honey. Just ride it out for me."
Your legs finally relaxed around her head. The only thing that filled the air at first was your heavy breaths and the faint sounds of Ellis's lips against your warm skin.
After a couple of of moments, you were able to catch your breath. Head picking up to look down at her girlfriend. Your thumbs rubbing against the back of her hands. "All this because I was gone for a couple of days?" You let out a breathless laugh. Your hands tighten its hold with hers.
"What can I say? I missed my girl." She smiled, looking up at you, placing a kiss on your inner thigh.
"Too much?" She pulled back, a smirk appearing on her face when hearing the disappointed groan when she left her lips. Her hair dropped as your hand left her hair due to the widened distance. The sounds you make were always more like music to her ears. "That's not what she's saying?"

"Mom, when are you going to wear any of these?" Valeria practically scolded, holding up two dresses you had got at the moment of full on hundred percent confidence.
You shrugged your shoulders. "I'm not sure, I don't think I have anywhere to wear them." You two were in you and Jack's bedroom. While you decorate the house's calendar like you always did before, you hung it up for the family to add as they wish. Valeria was in the closet looking through your side at all your clothes. You looked back up at the dresses just before Valeria put them back up, thinking of how you let yourself believe you would actually wear them out. It doesn't happen often. Usually you could talk yourself out of getting it, but you're clearly not successful every time.
Valeria walked over to you, standing behind you, peeking over your shoulder. You turned your head to face your daughter whose eyes were already studying the calendar, seeing what you had already marked down. So far you have put down.: your schedule, Jack's schedule and a few of Valeria's activities you knew on the top of your head. It was only the first two weeks of next month.
You saw Valeria's arm extended outward to the calendar, seeing that Jack had three days off next week.
"You're telling me you and dad have NO plans on that beautiful three-day off stretch," she raised an eyebrow, not believing that could be true. She knew her dad. If it wasn't something family-related (which it probably would be something in addition to whatever he had planned for you), He was going to make sure to take his wife out. She didn't mind really. The house to herself for a couple of hours? Sign her up.
You rolled your eyes at the dramatics of your daughter's response. "You say it like we go out too often."
"I'm not saying that, but when it's a break this big something is bound to happen. You know dad," now it was her turn to shrug her shoulders.
Jack was right. Valeria was just a mini you. You could definitely see Jack in her though. The head is strong, playful but quick to get serious if need be, and that calming presence that just makes people gravitate to them. That was all Jack.
You let out a small laugh. "Yeah, I think I know your father by now," you reached over to gently grab Valeria's hand, guiding her to sit on the edge of the bed, sitting up straight in the chair that came with the vanity. "What's the interest of me and your dad going out anyway?" You rubbed your thumb over the back of Valeria's hand. Your voice was soft and gentle with a genuine curiosity to it.
"I don't know. Just wondering." Valeria tried to shut the conversation down. She didn't want to bring down the mood.
"Sweetheart, come on, it's me. We can talk about anything. You know that" You brought your free hand up to Valeria's cheek, brushing your thumb over her soft skin. "Is something wrong?"
"I know… It's just—" she let out a deep breath. "Mom, what's the real reason you won't wear the clothes?" Valeria hesitated. She had a feeling on the reason. She knew her mom was strong and confident. One of the strongest women she knew. Your confidence over the years rubbing of on her, forever thankful when you do. Especially on her low days.
But some days she could see glimpses of that little girl you used to be. The part of you that you didn't share often with her. She heard some stories. Ones that weren't directly told to her, and she knew why remember the muffled, almost silent cry's followed by her Dad's gentle words. She never wanted her mom to have those moments of self-doubt in herself, she wanted you to feel the same way she felt growing up. Being told she was beautiful, smart, kind and could take on the world. The way you and Jack raised her to think.
You froze. Just for a moment. You thought for a moment. It was definitely something You and Jack discussed. That part of your life that wasn't so great and if you should share it with your daughter. "I just don't think I would look good in them anymore." You decided this wasn't the time for those stories, Not yet. You tried to put it as simply as you could without causing that tight feeling in the back of her but there were definitely layers to it.
The voice in the back of your head would mimic the voice's of your mom or dad telling you that everything you wanted to wear looked bad on you. "I know I have to stop buying stuff if I'm not going to wear them. Not the best example with money management" You try to joke, but it was a hidden tone in your voice that was laced with honesty.
"That's not what I'm saying, Mom. I think you look so beautiful and these dresses, the shirts, the pants. Even the skirts, all of it would look so good on you and looking in your closet I see all the possibilities of amazing outfits for you." She stopped talking for a moment, thinking if she should do what she was thinking of doing. She shook her head and got up to leave the room.
Your heart dropped. Did your insecurities meddle into their loved-fit home? You were about to get up when she returned with her sketchbook to an open page, placing it on the bed in front of you. She sat back down on the bed with her arms crossed like she was the parent. "Flip through it… please." Her voice softened at the last word.
You look down at the book, your eyes widen. She sketched out outfits? You could tell it was all the items you already had. "These are beautiful, Val," you went to the next page with even more outfits. Even a picture of you next to Jack pinned to the corner with a paperclip, it was a full body. She was basing that model on her figure. You try to hold back the tears gathering in the corner of your eye. "Have you ever thought of making clothes?" You showed interest, flipping through a couple more pages.
Valeria looked away. "Sometimes," there's a pause. "I don't think I'll be good enough to spend money on it though."
You reach up gently, tilting Valeria's head so she'll look at you again. "Based on the sketches alone, I can tell you love doing it. That's what matters. Your dad and I will always support you, Sweetheart."
"Well… would you be willing to do something then?" She grabbed both of your hands, looking into your eyes.
"Like what?"
"Would you let me dress you up? If dad takes you on a date, I mean," she waited for your response. Her fingers playing with your wedding ring.
"Is it going to be one you already planned out?" She hinted at the book still open flat on the bed.
Valeria shook her head no. "Something different. I have a few ideas," she said, eyeing her up and down. "Okay, I have to go think of some things." I might be back to look in the closet." Before you could say anything, she grabbed her sketchbook, kissed her cheek, and hurried out the door.
You laughed mostly at yourself watching her leave out the door in an instant. You found yourself a little nervous. You know how creative her mind can get, but she was excited to see what she came up with. Happy that this could be a step in the right direction to venture more into the fashion world.
PRESENT DAY
Valeria was getting ready for school as she grabbed one of the homemade muffins you, and she made a couple of days ago. A book bag hanging from over her shoulder. She was about to leave the kitchen when something caught her eye. The Calendar, it was something new in it. She got closer. Her eyes landed on tomorrow, where it was freshly marked in her father's handwriting 'date night :)' She couldn't help but smile. Rolling her eyes to herself seeing next to yet with a day gap 'family day ♡'. She picked up her phone to call her best friend.
You had just walked into the kitchen when you heard Valeria's voice as she walked by, muttering, 'Bye, love you. See you when I get home' before focusing her attention back on whoever she was on the phone with the biggest smile on her face.
You were now fully in the kitchen as you began to make two cups of coffee. You heard the sound of footsteps and the light clicking of his crutches against the flooring. He placed one against the wall close by.
He kept one to help keep himself up right easier, wrapping his arm around your waist, leaning down to kiss your neck. "Do you know why our daughter is in such a pleasant mood?" He watched you turn around, now facing him. "Not that I'm complaining."
You had an idea of what could've made their daughter so happy. You peeked over his shoulders before looking back up in his eyes. "Did you add something to the calendar?" You couldn't help but smile up at him waiting for a response.
"I added some on-call days that I picked up. But I'm going to tell myself my presence is actually wanted here, so that can't be it," he said playfully, acting as if his feelings were at risk of being hurt.
"It's definitely a wanted baby. But I think you added something else." She wanted to laugh but decided to play alone, raising her hand, grasping his chin, guiding his head down to yours to kiss him. You pulled away. "You remember now?" She asked teasingly as you leaned back, turning back around to pour the coffee into the cups.
He was stuck for a moment. Even after years of being together, you still have a big hold over him. "Wh-" he closed his mouth, a small smile gracing his lips as your back now faced him. The reason was finally coming to him. "Date night," he said, kissing the top of his head. Grabbing his other crutch, walking to the island table, taking a seat. "And why would Vals be so excited about that? Well besides an empty house."
His back stiffened. "You don't think there's a boy?"
You tried to hold back your laugh. "No, definitely not a boy." You decided not to play around that subject.
"You sound so sure," he raises an eyebrow. "Something I should know?"
"You'll see tomorrow, I guess," offering a wink as you placed down his coffee. "Hungry?"
"Depends on what you're offering," he said before taking a sip of his coffee, his hand somehow finding itself placed on your ass. Just itching to pull you closer.
"Behave," you warned.
THE NEXT DAY
It was THE day and Valeria was super excited. So excited, she debated asking her to stay home, but she already knew the answer would be, no, because 'education is the most important thing'. She could practically hear your voice in her head. But after school? Valeria went straight to your room. "Where's dad?"
"He's in the garage looking for something, what? I'm not a hundred percent sure," you shrugged your shoulder, folding both your and Jack's clothes.
"Okay, so thoughts on me calling Uncle Robby to distract dad while I get you all dressed up." She already had her phone ready to call.
"If he's okay with helping, I see no problem," you got up to put some of the folded clothes away.
"Sweeet, okay, I'm going to call him now," her fingers moved fast to find Robby's contact, pushing the call button with the speaker button being right after it.
You couldn't even come up with the idea of suggesting texting to see if Robby was busy or at work before you could hear the ringing from her phone.
"Uncle… fruitcake. You think you can do me a favor?" she asked, making dramatic pauses between her words for effect. She knew, in the grand scheme of things, asking her uncle to spend time with her dad (aka his best friend) wouldn't be such a big ask. The main concern was if he was busy.
It was a pause, followed by a dramatic sigh. With the sound of his reader being placed on a table. "Well, it depends on what it is, Shortcake."
She smiled because it wasn't a no, yet. "Do you think you could take my dad out for a couple of hours…maybe like around four?" Today?" She just kept adding on. Her voice getting sweeter with each thing.
You laughed quietly. It's funny to see her tactics being used on someone else other than yourself.
"Do I have to ask why?" He carried a genuine curiosity, purely to have something over Jack while they were out because he's already on board.
Valeria let out a hum. As if she was really thinking it over. "I want to dress my mom up, but I want it to be a surprise. Also, it's a date so you kinda gotta convince him."
"First. Do I have to get to see the results? Second, now I have to convince your dad to, instead of spending that time on a date with me instead of his… I don't know his actual wife?" He let out another sigh, this one not for dramatic, but over what he had just got himself into.
"One, Of course, you are. It's being constructed by yours truly. I have to send it to my third-biggest fan. Two, we can help with that. We'll suggest it." She looked over at you to see if you'd agree to help with you silently nodded your head, smiling, trying to hold back a laugh at the interaction.
"I'd only accept a third if I was behind your mom and Flapjack," he could hear Valeria laugh at his not-so serious tone. "Alrighty, just have him call me. See ya shortcake. See you too, Mrs. Flapjack." He acknowledged the two women preparing for the call to end.
You couldn't hold your laugh back at the nickname you were roped into when Jack and Valeria started using 'Fruitcake' as a nickname for him. "See you Fruit."
Valeria hung up the phone. Turning her attention to you. "Sooo, what are you going to say to dad to get him to go with Uncle Robs?"
You finished folding clothes, on your phone. You had texted Jack to come to the room when he got the chance "not sure yet. It will come to me."
It didn't take long before their bedroom door opened. With Jack walking in slightly sweaty from whatever he was doing in the garage.
"Something wrong, sweetheart?" He asked, looking head to toe before looking over to Valeria laid up on his side of the bed. "I feel like I have just walked into a trap." He pulled his hands up slowly. "What do I do?"
"You're looking guilty, dad?" She said with a very not seriously questioning look.
"She might be on to something. Got something to tell me, honey?" Your face mirrors your daughter's.
He shook his head: "Wait, wait. How does this get spun on me? You're the one that sent me a message to come up with no explanation."
You shrugged your shoulders: "Okay… that is on me. I got distracted.
"Mom, you could've given him a heart attack like that." She froze. She slipped it's like an unspoken rule that those jokes are reserved for birthdays.
It was quiet for a quick second, his face going straight. He wanted Val to sweat a little. "Grounded one week," she would've been worried if there was an actual ounce of bite behind his word. With it being paired with his classic goofy smile. While he tries to hold back his laugh. Her face was priceless. "Okay, seriously, what's up?"
It was time for your part of the plan. "What are you planning on doing before our date?" Yup, you went with the more direct approach that seems to always work.
"You called me up here to ask what I plan on doing?" He raised his eyebrows, feeling there had to be more to this.
"And to see your beautiful face?"
"Sweet talking gets you every way" he said playfully " walking closer to you. Switching spots so your on the edge off the bed and his on the seat so he doesn't sit on your side of the bed sweaty. His one hand holding yours still as he drops the other to rest on his thigh. "I didn't have anything in mind. Got any suggestions?"
In all honesty, Valeria loved seeing her parents soft moments. The small simplistic things that carried so much weight to them. Thinking of the future she'll have knowing this is the blueprint she would want to follow with her partner.
"I got one!" Valeria spoke out. Throwing her body on the bed so she laid lower half Jack's side upper half your side so she would have a better angle to see her dad. "I think you and uncle Robbie should go out"
"I mean" he stopped talking trying to actually think back on the last time the official hung out. "It hasn't been that long? I don't think."
"Do all men have this way of thinking? Just because it hasn't been awhile doesn't mean you can want to hangout like often." Valeria spoke again in disbelief. Maybe that's because with her best friend the second they separated they're planning their next hang out session.
"I think it would be good. My and Val could just have a mother-daughter time." You shrugged trying to show that you wouldn't mind him going.
"Okay. I'll give him a call to see if he's free" He got up from the chair, giving you a kiss. "Alright, Vals that's your sign to exit that way" he pointed to the door flexing dramatically. "You can give my bicep a quick check on the way out"
"I think not" she rolled her eyes "But I know when I'm not wanted. So I'll go" she said with faux hurt and with that she was out the door.
He waited until he heard what sounds like Valeria opening and closing her door before he spoke "Sooo, you telling me you two girls aren't up to anything" he asked looking in the dresser for a change of clothes. Making sure to send Robby a text asking if he was free.
"I promise, no funny business" you passed him a towel and rag set kissing him on the cheek. "Do you think you would want something before heading out?"
"No, no don't stress it. If anything I'll grab something small while I'm out" he stole one more kiss from you before hopping in the shower.
BOWLING ALLEY
Jack was little surprised to see such a fast response from Robby, but he shrugged it off. With the two deciding bowling as their outing choice. They were already playing for about thirty minutes. Jack had a beer in his hand that he'll be babysitting for a while.
"They were acting a little weird earlier" he was siding to the side of his friend as Robby took his turn.
"What was so weird about it" Robby held the bowling ball before bringing it back for a moment whipping his arm forward, releasing the bowl watching it carry itself down the ramp hitting three pins down ".
Jack watched Robby take his second turn knocking down three more pins . "well first the text to come upstairs with no explanation, then asking my plans, then it was Vals insisting on me going with you. Not to mention Vals suddenly interest on our date night" his beer was forgotten on the table as he went to pick up his bowling ball with him raising his voice as he talked having to complete with the music, game machine and the small crowd of people there. He began to do the same motion as Robby but ended up up coming short with only four pins falling his first turn.
Robby say down on the edge of the seat closest to Jack. He picked up his bottle of beer taking a sig. "oh, gotta admit that would freak me out a little too." He let out a dry laugh tilting the tip of his bottle in the other man's direction.
"I don't know if I should be worried or excited" he spoke after he finished his second attempt knocking down three pins.
"Maybe a little bit a both, brother."
MEANWHILE AT HOME
After Jack left Valeria was quick to boss you around, before she could even tell you what she was planning you had to be showered, shaved and moisturized. So you did putting on some underwear and bra, you sat down on your chair facing the mirror with Valeria behind you.
"I think make up should be first" She said moving your hair in different hairstyles already trying to get a sense of how it should go.
You smiled. Your eyes meeting hers through the mirror. "Sure we can start with that" you go to reach for her make up
"Okay, so thoughts on me doing it?"
You pulled your hand back. "Of course you can. Do you have a look in mind?"
She pulled out her phone, placing it down on the desk with it opened to pinterest already on the picture of the make up look she was thinking. "Maybe something like this?"
You look down at her phone. It wasn't nothing too flashy which you were grateful for. It was a simple base, with a Smokey eye look with a red lip look with a black outline that made the woman in the photos lip pop. "It looks cute. If you think it will go with your vision go for it"
She took that as the go ahead, she spun you around so you were now facing her. "I think it's gonna eat to be honest. Trust me." She started looking through your make up, pulling out the stuff she would need for the look. Starting with protection. Placing the primer on your skin, her hands moving gently. "You have really nice skin" She said simply before reaching for your foundation.
"Thank you. Gotta keep people guessing how old I truly am" You joked.
She smiled as she rolled her eyes "oh my gosh, remember when those guys thought you were my sister" she mentioned a memory from a couple weeks ago when you took her out for lunch and these two guys came up to you both and start hitting on you.
You body shuttered at the memory "yea and they tried to flirt with me, ugh" You phone lit up, reminding you of something else about the memory. "I had to talk your dad out of leaving work"
"You told him?!"
"Of course" You shrugged your shoulders "Me and your dad tell each-other basically everything"
"Everything" Valeria asks with a raised eyebrow, wondering how far this honesty extends.
"Well nothing me and you discussed of course. But between me and you. I think your dad is starting to think you're talking to a boy" You tone was low, as if Jack himself could hear you two.
"Ugh, great so I guess the movie I was planning on seeing with friends tonight is off the table?" She was just about done your makeup, Her head tilting back in slight irritation.
You hummed. "I can see what I can do while we're out. When are you planning on going?"
"Nine-ish"
"Gonna have to do better then that to pass your father's questions" You warned softly, you knew how Jack could get when it came to Valeria going out. "you need, time-"
"Place, who, when, where. The way there and the way back… oh and if money is needed" Valeria finished plainly already knowing the mantra "I know I know. I'll have it ready before dad gets back" She pulled away, spinning the chair to show you the finished look. She did an amazing job, it always looking exactly like the reference except do a couple changes due to different facial features. Great job nonetheless.
"Oh my gosh, this is so good. I love it." You turn your head side to side, looking over the whole make up look.
"Thank you very much" She had a proud smile on her face. As her eyes watched your reaction committing it to memory. That's when she quickly reached for her phone. Taking a few pictures through the mirror being starting a video, Turing your chair to your facing the camera. "You look so beautiful." She finished off the video with that knowing how camera shy you get sometimes.
Your heart was melting at how proud Valeria looked. You didn't even mind her recording if it kept that smile on her face. "What do you want to do next. Clothes or hair?" You questioned your little stylist.
Just then a notification went off in your phone, picking it up seeing a text from Robby
Fruity-cake 🍰
| need more time?
You look up to Valeria who was engrossed in her own phone. You asked her how much time does she think she needs, with no response
Valeria was looking over the video she just took of her mom, fighting back the urge to the video to her dad knowing he would love it. But she doesn't. She didn't want to ruin th surprise. So! She sent it to the next best person Fruitcake! As soon as she sent the send button she finally noticed her mom was asking her something "what?"
"Oh now your ears work? What-? Never mind. How long do you think you need?"
"Uhhh, forty-five minutes maybe an hour?"
You looked back down to your phone to reply to Robby.
Fruity-cake 🍰
Sorry Val suddenly couldn't hear. She said she need 45min - 1hr until we're done. |
| ha! I think she got distracted sending me the video of your make up. Okay I'll figure something out. Ps. You look great 👍🏻
You look up at Valeria. "Just couldn't keep it yourself huh?" you tone was playful. Shaking your head. 'Just like Jack' you said to yourself as you remember when Val was born and you weren't able to be there because of work he was send pictures of every little moments, printing out his favorite ones just to keep a physical copy. With one being the perfect size to fit in his wallet.
"Okay, fine you got me. But! You look really good I had to share and I couldn't go to dad" She shrugged.
"Thank you, sweetheart. you did a great job." You glanced at the time. You were about to re-ask your question when Valeria cut in first.
"I think hair should be last." She tapped her chin and rocked side to side thinking to herself. Definitely a you thing to do.
"Okay where's the outfit?" In the corner of your eyes you saw Valeria hear out the room, taking that as an opportunity to stand up. Stretch a little like Jack insists on.
Next thing you know she was back in the room laying the outfit on the bed.
You walked over to the bed to the looking down at the dress. It was a burgundy red one that hung off the shoulders with a slit to the left side with a white cropped sweater that could be tired in the front. "I didn't even know I had this dress"
"probably because it was hidden deep in yours closet." The words left her mouth before she could really think about it.
you looked over at her with a questioning eye
"okay, so, I might've went through it again when you were out yesterday" It was a shy smile on her face. She picked up a belt, it was gold with hollowed out in circular shape that switch between two different sizes. "Look what I found in my closet though. I think it would definitely go with the outfit."
You roll your eyes at her attempt to change the subject. "It's cute. I really like it." Your eyes took in the outfit as you walked closer to the bed, reaching down to the dress you ran your fingers over the soft material. "Do you need to grab anything to do my hair? I can get dressed while you get it"
"Yea, I'm still not hundred percent sure on what style yet." She muttered giving you some privacy to change.
It doesn't take you long to slip into the dress, debating on putting everything else on just yet but you would be lying if you said you wasn't curious to see the look put together. Starting with the belt wrapping it around your waist, adjusting to sit perfectly on your hips. The white sweater being last, tying the tassels together in a little bow. Your a little shocked with the lack of jewelry especially with your daughter's love for them. Never having a fit without some type of accessories.
There was a knock on your bedroom door. With a smaller voice shining through. "Need more time?"
"Nope, I go everything on!" Smoothing over over the material as the door opened.
"Holy-"
"Don't even try to finish that"
"Okay, okay. That's on me, BUT, you look so good it almost slipped. Sorry" Valeria expended her hand after taking a step forward "Saw these in my jewelry box. thoughts?"
"Oh I love these. I remember when you first wore these. Got them thrifting right?"
Valeria couldn't help but feel that warmth in her chest. To feel seen by someone. Especially by her own parents it just felt so silly to feel so happy about it. "Yea. With Millie, it was actually my first time going. I was so nervous"
You laughed "yea I remember. Stressed to the heavens over a skirt you thought your dad was gonna flag"
"Ugh, we ended up going through everything I got that day too" she could remember it like it was yesterday. Putting on every piece of clothing she brought just so Jack could see if it was good enough to pass the 'dad check'
You cupped your hands for her to drop the sun burst necklace and matching earrings eyes catching her hand in the act, slipping on a ball chain cuff bracelet. "To finish the look?"
She nodded her head, crossing her arms over her chest "To finish the look" liking what she was seeing, she waited for you to put it on. To see if the vision she saw in her head will come to life. Her eyes followed you hands as you put on the earrings and necklace. "Mom, this might be the start of something." She stated seriously.
You tried to hold your laugh back, to take the comment as serious as she was. But she just looked so cute. 'Okay okay get it together' you told yourself before answering. "I wouldn't mind doing this more. You know I love spending time with you"
"I love spending time with you too." Valeria eyes glanced at the time. Not know when her dad would be back, she looked back at you. "Okay. Hair? Yup." She said trying to remember where they left off at. So I was thinking you pick the hairstyle?"
"If you want me to I don't mind"
You wanted to say more but they're was a knock at the door. You both look at each-other as if asking them who it would be. You were first to move heading to the door.
"Coming" Valeria said from behind her mom, hot on her trail like a shadow.
You opened the door to see Robby looking over his shoulder before looking over to you.
"Wow."
"A good wow I hope." You offer an awkward smile.
He raised his hands. "Yea, yea. Of course that's." There's a pause. "Okay, I feel like a jackass, but I had to sped walk to beat him here just to give you guys the heads-up." Robby's words came out fast and you can see why. Jack's voice can be heard keeping closer.
"Why the hell did you take off? Forget some of us only have one leg!?"
Valeria pulls you away from the door. "Just umm. Do your hair. Oh also don't forget about the bag and shoes. Both on my bed. Plus I wanna record the big reveal." Her words came out fast and low but still clear enough for you to hear.
You silently said 'okay' before headed upstairs to Valeria's room. Picking up the bag and box the shoes came with.
"So what the he-." Jack started to say before he noticed Valeria at the door with a smile on her face. "Hey sweetheart" Jack was quick to correct himself, softening his voice a little.
"Hey Dad, enjoy your outing?" She stepped to the side making room for Jack and Robby to enter the house.
"Yea it was fun. Until speedy McGee over here just start speed walking mid conversation" Jack was the first of the pair to start walking. "Where's your mom? Is she ready because I need at least ten minutes to change"
"She's ready, where is she exactly I'm not sure. Oh and I moved your suit you set out in the bathroom." She closed the door once Robby walked inside.
"Okay" Jack raised an eyebrow but decided not to question it. "I'm going to get changed then"
She watched Jack walk down the hallway towards the first floor bathroom waiting for him to be fully out of ear shot before she turned to Robby. "So how long do you think he's gonna mention that one?"
Robby rubbed his hand against the back of his neck. "Probably until his first shift back" he could already imagine handoffs and Jack mentioning it to Dana.
"Thanks again for taking my Dad out. Movie night soon?" She offered as a method of paying him back. Walking around to see where she should place her phone for the reaction.
"Sounds like a plan, shortcake." Robby watched her walk around to place her phone somewhere. Giving her a signal when Jack was about to enter the space.
Whew she never been more grateful for Robby for giving her that signal finally finding the perfect spot. Putting it on the point five camera setting. Pushing the record button with same time to make distance from the spot.
At that moment Jack reemerged from the bathroom "you're mom still not down?"
"Nope. I'll go get her" Valeria was on the move before anyone could even think of a response. Offering Robby a thumbs up as a thanks while Jack was walking to the couch to sit.
You were in the guest bedroom, assuming Jack would want to change in their bedroom. About ten minutes past managing to do a quick style for your hair and put the shoes on, even then the buckle needs to be a little tighter. You heard footsteps approaching and the door opening to Valeria with that look. The one she gets when it's getting close to something big. Birthdays, holidays, outings with her friends, favorite band, group or artist album drops. The list can go on and on, and you love it.
"Everything okay?"
"Yup. Dad's ready." She had a huge grin on her face. Clearly very excited to see Jack's reaction.
"You excited?" You know the answer you just love hearing her talk about what she's passionate about.
"Am I excited? Am I excited? Yes!! I'm more than excited. Sooo you really have to tell me how the date goes." She was practically bouncing off the walls as she guided you to the living room. Being careful not to rush you with the heels on. "Okay, close your eyes, you two," she called out to Jack and Robby.
The two men looked at each other for a moment. "Okay," they said at the same time. Jack got up from the couch. It didn't feel right sitting down. Not when he knows it's something to do with his wife. He wanted to be up and ready. His whole thing made him feel like it was a send-off to prom or something. "They're closed," Jack responded to the pair.
She guided you to stand in front of Jack. Shuffling to the side, picking up his phone to record his reaction. "Okay. You can open them."
Jack opens his eyes, and he swears his hands never moved so fast. Now resting nicely on your waist. Running back and forth gently, his eyes not being able to stay still. "I-" his eyes met yours, not hesitating for a moment longer. "Holy."
"Jack," you warned. Smiling as you brought your hands up to rest on his upper arm. Squeezing the muscles to bring his attention to your face. Tilting your head in your daughter's direction.
"Right...right." His eyes didn't leave yours. His eyes studying your makeup. All he saw was your natural beauty with a little added flare. One that he could never get enough of. "I'm sorry. You just look so amazing, baby." He couldn't help but lean in to give you a kiss. A much shorter kiss that he wanted would have to wait. "Is this what you girls have been so secretive about?" He took another appreciative look.
"Not really a secret, more so a deal we made."
"Well, I'm glad you made it." Growing up with two sisters, he knew how things work. The little whispers, jokes, talk about things that only other women could relate to. Probably how he manages to say outside the dog house. "So did you do the makeup?"
"Oh no. Not just that, my love." You moved your hands to lay flat against his chest, being careful not to wrinkle the somewhat freshly ironed suit. "This look right here was styled by the one and only, Valeria Abbot." You pulled back to start to do a little spin with Jack taking one of his hands on him, raising it high to help show it off.
He let out a short, low whistle. "Well sweetheart, you did an amazing job with the outfit." He allowed his eyes to finally leave you. Finding Valeria standing next to Robby already. Arms crossed, with a smirk on her face.
"So you like it, huh?" She rubbed her hands together. "I guess you'll have to keep taking mom out so I can keep styling her."
"Well I guess I do."
Robby cleared his throat: "Not to interrupt here, but it's getting close to that time. Also, you both look really sharp. Dapper? Fancy even." The more he spoke, the less serious his tone got.
"Oh shut it." Jack knew Robby was just teasing. Not having no heat with his words. "You got everything?" He looked back at you, feeling you lean against him. "What's wrong?"
"My heel" was all you could say before Jack lowered himself to his heels. His fingers ghosting across your calf.
"Tighten it?" He heard you let out a hum, undoing the buckle redoing to her liking.
"Sooo is this a good time to ask to go to the movies tonight?" She clasped her hands waiting for her dad to turn around.
"Who? How are you getting there and getting back?" He had just finished fasting the other buckle. How fully stood up and standing beside you with one hand resting on your waist. "What time is the movie anyway? It's pretty late already." She was going down to his watch to double-check the time. 'They definitely gotta leave soon.' He thought about himself before going back to Valeria. Wanting to settle this first.
"Me, Millie, Amari, and Rowan" or as your parents like to call you.
"So the core four," Jack relaxed a little. Knowing those friends for years. "Okay. Transportation?
That. 'Core four.' It wasn't liked by the growth at first, but over the years, they grew to like it, "Rowan's dad, there and back."
"Okay, we're all good so far. Time?" He would usually ask where she was planning on going, but they go to the same theater every time, so he learned to just stop asking.
"Nine, and yes, I know it's late, but it was the only one that worked with Rowan's dad's schedule." She added quickly, adding all the facts before the final verdict.
"Okay. You can go. Text the group chat when you're there. Also, when the movie is over and if you make it home before we do," his voice was steady and firm but still had a softness to it. He just can't help worrying, her being out there where he can't be there in an instant. She's growing, she's not a little girl, no one. He came to terms with that just slips sometimes.
You didn't even have to say anything, Jack, basically covering all the bases for you. You love how good he is with Valeria. That they have a good healthy relationship just makes you feel even better about your decision in husbands.
"Oh my gosh, thank you dad," she said happily, but she hesitated for a moment. "About that…" Valeria started. "There was talk of a sleepover?"
Jack was about to open his mouth when you spoke up. Beating him to the question that was on both their minds.
"At whose house?" Now this was news to even you. Eyebrow raising. And tone even as you shift your weight slightly.
"Millie's. She got a sewing machine for getting honor roll." She switched the topic for a quick second just to remember something. "By the way, I have to bring mines home. It's in my locker."
Robby raised his hand to do their special handshake. "Good job," he said before going back to the side. Eating up this interaction of parenthood that his bestfriend got going on.
"Thanks," she said as she does the handshake back, returning to the conversation, knowing it's on limited time. "Anyway, but we planned on making each other's clothes with our old clothes."
"Let us think about it." Jack spoke up. "And good job, sweetheart."
"Dad! Please, it's going to be so much fun. I can't miss out. Plus, it would be good practice if I ever got my own."
"You heard him. We'll think about it. Give us until the movie ends. Also tell Millie we will be calling her parents." You stepped in. "Perfect work. I saw the effort, happy it paid off." You started to walk to her. Placing a kiss on her forehead. Leaving a red kiss print. "Okay, we got to go. Remember to text us!"
She let out a sigh, thankful it wasn't a flat out no. "Okay, I'll let her know. Have a great date!" She couldn't stop the smile from gracing her face even when worried about her pending sleepover
You offered a smile back. "We will definitely try," you turned to Robby. "Surprised you didn't sneak off on us," you teased.
"And miss my favorite show? Never," he said, repaying the favor.
You punched his shoulder gently. Over the years, Robby became less of 'Jack's best friend' and more of a brother. Which you are so grateful for. Never having any of your own, it's been a fun learning curve.
"Jack, honey, you want to use the crutches for this?" You pulled out a mirror from your bag to check your lip look, seeing it was still good.
He was checking his pockets to make sure he had everything. "No, I think I'm okay."
"Maybe bring them for the way back? Just in case."
He thought about it for a moment: "Okay. Yea, that sounds like a good idea."
You start to walk down the hall to their bedroom. "Can you start the car for us? I'll just grab them."
He nodded his head. Yes, "You know where they are?" he asked, just wanting to make sure before he made his way to the car.
"Yup, don't worry, go ahead." You faced forward fully as you continued to walk to the door. At the same time, Jack made his way to the car, with Robby joining him. They both said goodbye to Valeria before heading out the door.
You were carrying the crutches, walking back into the living room area. "So sleepover, huh?"
Valeria was standing on the other side of the room. Looking down at the video, which was around ten minutes long, "Yea, it wasn't on the table until like this afternoon, but I'm just now seeing it."
You'll tell her that you were both busy outside today. "Okay, I'll see what I can do. Have fun at the movies. Can you lock up for me?"
"Yea, no problem. We will see you later," she replied, watching you leave the house, closing the door before you.
By the time you got outside, Robby was gone and Jack was waiting at the bottom of the three steps, extending his hands to hold yours as you walked down the stairs. "Did I tell you just how beautiful you look?"
"Mmm," you pretend to think about it. "I don't remember."
"Well, we can't have that now." His eyes watched as you took each step like you owned it. "You look absolutely stunning tonight, my love." His hand dropping yours, sliding down the side of the material of the dress, finding his hand flat against your lower back. Guiding you to the car, replacing the hold on crutches with his own.
Opening the door before you, waiting for you to be seated comfortably, before he closed the door and opened the trunk to place his crutches. Getting into the car to start making their way to the restaurant.
The car ride was quiet at first. You and Jack never find the need to talk right off the bat. Finding the silence comfortable. You used the hand closest to him to play with the grey curls at the nape of his neck while he had a hand low on your thigh, his thumb drew small circles.
You took the fact that he's driving at the opportunity to let yourself stare at your husband. He laughs when you call him pretty boy, but he is to you. The way the lights of the streets reflect off his freckle-covered skin. It's like you were stuck, transfixed by the way his grey curls blow in the wind coming from the small creak on his side of the window, knowing how quickly you get hot.
"Do you like how it turned out?" He peeked over to you, breaking the comfortable silence.
"Yea, I do. It's actually been my closest for a while. Just never wore it."
"Why not, it looks perfect on you. I didn't even want to take my eyes off you. Baby. You truly look so good, I want you to know that."
"I-" you started before starting over. "Thank you, baby. Really It was just how I was feeling then. I kinda forgot about it. That's all."
He gives you one more look "okay. As long as you know and believe it, we're all good." He offered one of his adorable subtle half smiles.
The car fell back into that same old silence, they had just made it to the restaurant in time. They were seated at the table. Put in your drink and appetizer order. His hand intertwining with yours once the waiter left.
"So how is your outing?" You leaned on the table with your elbow resting your chin on the back of your hand.
"It was good, but I'm guessing it was all to get me out of the house?" He knew the answer. He just wanted him to say it.
"Well, a little. But you two genuinely don't spend that much time together."
"Aw, worried about me and Robby's friendship, baby? His tone was playful.
You shrugged. "One of us has too. Yes, that does include Robby."
He couldn't help but let out a laugh. "Okay, okay, we'll start doing it more."
You smiled. You can never help it when you hear me laugh. It was second nature. "Good. I'll have to call Azayla to give him the same talk." You wiggled your eyebrows playfully at the mention of Robby's girlfriend, with you two quickly becoming friends.
"Oh, so you two really do be banding together against us, huh?"
Just then the waiter comes back, places down your drinks and the appetizer, chips with spinach dip, your favorite. "I think I need a little more time looking for my order," you added after saying Thank you to the waiter.
"Same," Jack followed up. When you knew it was a lie. He always did the same thing, but he never wanted you to feel rushed. "What are you feeling, Baby?"
"I'm thinking about some type of pasta." You looked over the menu. "How about you?" Eyes looking up at his, catching him staring. A little smirk shined through her questioning look.
His head quickly dropped to the menu, pretending to actually look at the options, as if he hadn't got the same thing: steak, medium rare, double mash because he knows you're going to want some, and he always pays extra for a side of corn. Let's not forget all the gravy and bread the man can eat. "I don't know. So many good options."
You giggled. "Right, how is one to pick?"
He smiled, he loves your laugh, loves the way you always try to keep it low when in public, he loves it even more when you fail, the way you always reach out for him if he's close by, leaning into him. "How has work been?"
You brought one of your hands to his. Your fingers planning with his fingers, landing at his ring band. "It's been good, just busy. Feels like we have barely seen each other lately." Your eyes finally looked up from the menu. "I think I want chicken and shrimp Alfredo." It was more to you than anything.
"I know, honey, it has just been a crazy month, is all. But we still got one more day left of this to go around." He took your hand into his, bringing it up to his lips, kissing the back of your hand, rubbing his thumb over your knuckles. "That sounds delicious. Surprised to see you doing both though." Dropping both your hands back down on the table watching you using your free hand to dip a chip in.
Once the chip was in your mouth, you used a hand to cover it as you responded eagerly, "I know! But I keep hearing how good it is, and I'm finally at the point where I don't care if the chicken and shrimp are together. I hope I like it."
He watched as his eyes lit up. He couldn't be held responsible for what said next. How could he not when he has you right in front of him? In his hands with that look. That look just says everything without saying anything. "I love you. You know what?" He could see the blush creep in, even with make-up on. "I think you'll like it. If anything separates them on either side, maybe?" Now it was his turn to play with your wedding ring as his eyes just studied yours, a smile on his face like he was the luckiest man in the world.
The date was going great as the conversation flowed so easily between the two. The appetizer didn't stand a chance once the conversation started to pick up with looks, laughs shared between the two. Time went by, the waiter came back to check for refills. This time both were ready.
"Can I have the chicken and shrimp alfredo with a cesar salad and garlic bread?"
He nodded his head, writing it down, saying it was no problem, before turning to Jack.
"I'll take a steak, medium rare, double mash, and can I get a side of corn? Or and a roll." Jack grabbed both the menus before handing it to the waiter once he was ready.
"Can he also get some gravy for the potatoes on the side?" You added, knowing Jack would want the gravy, yet somehow always forgets.
"Okay, that's coming up real soon, folks. Anything else?"
You looked over to Jack, raising an eyebrow, shrugging at not having anything to add.
"We're okay, thank you."
"So, what are you and Val going to do together?"
"No clue. I have to look around to see if it's anything interesting."
"I think something crafty. That's all I'm giving you," you gestured to you, locking your lips together.
"I did see something about a custom rug making class. It was a thought." Squeezing your hand at your gesture, let out a low chuckle.
"Sounds perfect for you two." You thought for a moment. "So, sleepover… given that any thought?"
"Honestly, I'm okay with her going. I just wanted to talk it out first." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Yea, you just wanted her to sweat a little."
"Oh, now is it a crime to have a little dad fun?"
You shook your head at him. "Okay, call Kathy for the car ride home, just to check in, of course."
"You just keep reading my mind, sweetheart."
The waiter made his return with your meals. Placing his plate down first. Yours is next.
"Ouu, this looks so good!" You looked over at his plate. "You think they did you right this go around?"
"I sure hope they did. I don't want to have to change my go to." He let out a sigh. "Why must I be so loyal?" He threw his hands up dramatically. Rolling his eyes.
You were readjusting your plate. "Don't know actually, but you'll never catch me complaining," you winked at him. That's when you noticed he hadn't started eating yet. You raised an eyebrow? "Why aren't you eating? " You like to wait for your pasta to cool down a little before eating, and you know he knows that.
"Don't want to take a picture this time?"
You thought for a moment. He didn't eat because he thought you would want a picture. You could feel that feeling in the pit of your stomach. He's just so effortlessly cute. "Oh, yes, I would love to." You reached for your phone, opening your camera app, angling your phone to have both your dishes. A little bit of his arm was in the frame. You couldn't help but tilt the camera, getting a couple of flicks from him as he checked his phone, even some when he eventually looked up.
"I don't think that's the food, sweetheart?" He had a smirk on his face.
"But definitely something I want to eat."
He was def the flirt in the relationship, that didn't stop you from trying to get back at him from time to time. Such as now when you see the red dust at the tip of his ears.
"Guess you wouldn't mind me taking a couple of pictures myself?" He was quick to pull out his phone.
"Why would I mind you taking a picture of the food?" You were confused a little.
"Oh sweetheart, I was thinking more so of my dessert," his camera was facing you and only you. Now it was you who was blushing. "Come on baby, can I get a little pose?"
You gathered yourself, giving Jacks a couple of poses. "Can we take some together?"
He didn't say anything as he got up out of his seat, moving it closer to you. "Of course we can, baby. Want me to hold the camera for you?"
You nodded to him, passing him the phone as he extended his arm to take a couple of pictures, doing a couple of different poses. With the last one being a kiss on his cheek.
His head turned to face you, eyes meeting yours, he noticed a little smudge on your lipstick. You can see his focus being shifted to your lips. Your hand reached out to grab the phone, which easily gives you control of using the hand to gently grab your chin.
Your thumb grabbed over the record button, pushing it, your eyes locked on his. Waiting to see what he was planning on doing
His thumb wiped away the smudge, being careful not to mess it up. "Can I kiss you, Honey?"
You nodded your head, leaning in first, not one to deny him, definitely no kiss, placed your lips against his but let him guide the pace. It wasn't a long kiss, but it still managed to still carry that emotion of unconditional love.
He broke the kiss with the silliest smile, like he had just won the lottery. Well, to him, he most definitely did. No matter what others might say, I'm just lucky to be able to feel those type of feeling again.
You smiled using your free hand to grab his chin, turning his face to the camera, leaning in more to be in more fame with him. Your thumb brushing over his red kissed stained lips before tilting your chin to the side of his cheek to see where you kissed him. Smiling proudly as your little mark.
"What was that for?" He had a smile on his face, loving whatever this was.
"Gotta make sure people're taken," you shrugged calmly. Now checking your lip look. It is somehow not too messed up, it just needs another coat of gloss.
The date continued to go smoothly. By the end, you both got to go boxes, deciding on dessert and a movie to end the night so you two would truly complete this perfect night.
Jack paid for the meal, you paid for the tip for the waiter.
"How's your leg, want me to grab the crutches?"
"I think I'm okay. Thanks for asking sweetheart." He pushed in both your chairs, his hand quick to find your waist. It was soft, just not as soft as your skin under his touch. Nothing could compare. He guided you through the restaurant, his hand moving to the small of your back.
It didn't take long to make it to the car. You were first to enter after Jack opened the door for you. He was next to get in, reaching back to place his food safely on the car floor.
"Think we should call Millie's mom and see what's up with that." Your body was turned to the side, facing him. The hand closest to him playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.
"Yea, the girl's movie should be done soon." His hand was placed on the top of your thigh.
You grabbed your phone with your free hand, looked for the contact icon, called Millie's mom. It was a ring, then another before a voice was heard on the other line.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Valeria's mom. I was calling because I just heard about a sleepover tonight?"
"Oh yes, the girls are all set to come over. Millie and I just set their little craft area up."
"Oh, that's good. I just wanted to make sure everything was legit. So it's okay with Valeria to go?"
"Of course, she is always welcomed. She knows that."
"Okay, I'm glad to hear that. I feel the same way about Millie. I'll let Val know, but it was good talking to you."
"It was good talking to you. I'll let you go."
With that, the call ended. Your eye met Jack, who was already looking at you up and down. "It seemed to be legit. I think it's okay for her to go."
"Good, that's good," his voice was a little distant as he suddenly leaned in. Kissing you. Pulling back just a little bit but still close enough to feel his breath mix with yours. "Feel like I haven't kissed you enough today," he placed another kiss. "Plan on changing that." It sounded like he was telling himself that.
You would never deny a kiss from him. How could you when he was all over you feel like he couldn't get enough, like he didn't want to get enough?
The slow, small peaks started to turn into longer, more passionate kisses. His free hand going up to your cheek. While your hand was in his hair. You were so grateful for it being so empty in the parking lot and dark. Not sure if you could pull yourself away from him even if you wanted to.
Your little make-out session was interrupted by the sound of Jack's custom ringtone Valeria set up for herself. You both pulled away but not fully, reaching his hand into his pocket, leaving your thigh.
"Hey sweetheart, what's up?" He's breathing was still a little uneven from the recent make-out.
"I am Tex — you okay? What's up with your breathing?" She started to complain but stopped hearing even the breathing from her dad.
He smiled at you, his thumb glossing over your bottom lip. Not able to resist the urge to say something 'sappy', "I'm okay, I guess one kiss from your mom just takes my breathing away."
"Ew, dad, stop. Sounds like the dates are going well." She stuttered. She doesn't mind her parents being lovey-dovey. It's when they say cheesy stuff. That's where she draws the line.
He laughed. "What I'm serious, we just left the restaurant. Heading home now, but how was the movie?" He moved the phone from his ear, putting the phone on speaker so you could hear. "Your on speaker?"
"Hi Mom!"
"Hey honey! So how was the movie?"
"It was good. Better than I thought, even though it didn't stick to the source material as much. Wait. Did you all call Millie's parents ?"
They both listen to her talk about the movie. Holding back a laugh as you both made eye contact with a look. Like it was second nature to the both of you.
"Yes, we did. You're good to go. You got a bag? Or a ride there?"
"Oh my gosh, thank you !" She sounded a little further away as she spoke. "They said yes!" followed by the light murmurs of excitement from the other girls. "Oh, no need for a ride, we were actually on the way to drop me off, but I can pack a bag right quick when I get there. So I love you all. Goodnight. See you tomorrow."
"Okay sweetheart. We love you and be safe. Call us if you need us," Jack said before the line was cut, hearing her reply," Okay.
"Now where were we?" he smiled. Moving his phone to the dashboard as he leaned in to continue what you two were doing earlier.
You placed a finger against his lip to stop him. "I was thinking we should save it for the now officially free house." That was all it took. Well, that and a knowing look to get Jack in the driving mind.
He turned forward, starting the car, getting you two on the road as quickly and safely as possible. His hand going back to your thigh, squeezing the flesh gently with a smirk on his face. "We can wait until we get home sweetheart. I have been waiting for the chance to actually appreciate this dress of yours."
The next day, when Valeria came home, you were happy to report the date and how amazing it was and how beautiful the restaurant was. Leaving you both excited about the next time.
I regret not writing down things here as I read, because I remember that there were specific scenes during which I went "OH MY GOSH I love it!", and now I'm not sure which scenes it was
I think the one with Jack coming up after the mysterious talk, and the video taking were one of them, but not sure about the other scenes
All of it is just SO GOOD! And the way Jack is so obsessed with the reader, and the way both Jack and Valeria saying "holy-" before being interrupted by reader, AND ROBBY SPEED-WALKING
