Minvember : a Babylon 5 Art Challenge for November 2025

When: November 1st to 30th

Rules: The objective is to try to draw something inspired by each word prompt using the palette provided. You must use both word prompt and palette. You have 5 days to complete each prompt. Also while the challenge is called Minvember you do not have to draw Minbari! Just draw anything Babylon 5! If you have any questions about anything else, please feel free to send an ask. This started as an art challenge, but writers are welcome and encouraged to participate as well using the word prompts.

Finally don’t forget to tag your work with #minvember so we can find it and reblog!  Happy drawing/writing!

Following my post earlier about Minvember this year being the last Minvember, I've done a lot of thinking and I've come to the conclusion that I will likely not have the time or energy to do Minvember this year, or anything else relating to it, so I have decided to just bring Minvember to an end now.

Apologies for any disappointment. I've really enjoyed running this little event, but I think I have to accept I have neither the time nor motivation to put my best efforts into it anymore, even for one last go. I created it because I loved Babylon 5 and loved B5 fandom and wanted to make something fun for everybody to take part in, and I hope I have managed to do that over the last four years.

Big thanks to everyone who participated! It's been great seeing all the art and writing (and even website designs!) you created in response to this challenge. <3

Hey folks! Apologies, I've been very busy with life stuff and not been keeping up with putting out the monthly minvember prompts, so since February is already half-way through to make it fair I think I will pause prompts for this month and start again in March. That should also give me some time to prep prompts in advance.

Sorry again! If you would still like to do some palette challenges please feel free to use last month's prompt or any previous prompt. :)

It's always lovely seeing everyone's beautiful artwork (and website designs!) and so much enthusiasm and love for Babylon 5! And don't worry if you didn't manage to finish every fill - it's all about having fun and being creative, not about stressing over deadlines.

Monthly prompts will now resume and I'll be posting the prompt for December later today, so keep an eye out for that! Alternatively, if you haven't finished the 6 main event prompts, feel free to continue on those (I know I will, haha) and remember to tag them #minvember or @ us here so I can catch them and reblog.

I used this year's @b5-minvember as inspiration for making B5 fanpages! Each page is themed after a prompt and its palette. These work best on desktop, but should be fine on mobile.

I intend to keep adding content and making adjustments even after Minvember is over. B5 is so extensive, I still have lots of quotes and fun facts and interviews to explore and compile. But I wanted to get things to a share-able state by the end of the month, so here we are!
