Glossy vs. Satin Finish
Ultimately, the choice comes down to personal preference. If you prefer a ukulele with a luxurious, durable, and eye-catching appearance, glossy is a great choice. If you value a natural feel, an open sound, and a more subtle look, a satin finish might be a better fit for you.

Weāve tried using spruce on the sides and back before ā and it already sounded amazing.
But when we switched things around, the result surprised us ā a beautifully balanced tone with long, elegant sustain and that smooth, refined character we love. šæšµ
Sometimes, great sound comes from simply daring to try something new. āØ

Some of you already know we love to experiment and follow our curiosity. Sometimes that means going against old myths not because we donāt respect the masters before us, but because we want to experience it firsthand instead of just taking someone elseās word.
One question kept bothering me for a long time: why has no one ever used spruce for the back and sides? Was it really that bad?
So we tried it. And the result surprised us the sound was fresh, new, and nothing like a spruce top.
That gave us the courage to take the next step: using spruce for the sides. When I finally played it after finishing, it gave me goosebumps. Honestly, it felt like one of the best decisions weāve ever made⦠like the very first time I picked up a ukulele.
Weāre just a small team who loves building instruments. Some ideas get love, some donātābut we always give our best and keep trying new things. Thatās what we stand for.
Huge thanks to our team and to everyone who supports usāyouāre the reason we keep going.
Every ukulele we makeāwhether itās J-Series or K-Seriesāis a little different each batch and each year. If you compare a new one to an older model, the sound wonāt be exactly the same. And thatās intentionalāweāre always refining the sound and bracing to fit different shapes and sizes.
So here it is, our latest experiment turned innovation: spruce sides.

Through our discoveries and developmentādespite initially believing that some types of wood might not be suitable for the backāwe ultimately achieved results that exceeded our expectations.
Rather than pushing the sound straight forward with powerful projection as before, this new design has completely transformed the instrumentās character. It introduces a subtle delay in projection, resulting in a more resonant and echo-like quality within the body.

JUDAS: THE ULTIMATE REBEL UKULELE
To me, making a ukulele has never simply been about crafting a musical instrument.
It has always been personal ā a reflection of how I see life and the limited knowledge I carried at that time. My inspirations come from everywhere: cultures, beliefs, people, books, movies, science, art, design ā fragments of the world that shape me and constantly shift over time.
As I grew older, shaped by past experiences and countless mistakes, I realized that life is a constant exercise in making choices. Iāve tried to embrace diversity, to keep moving, rather than settling on a single, easier path.
I choose to focus on what is good, to give everything my best effort, and to aim for a life free of regret ā even when I know that perfection is never promised.
Still, every choice comes with its share of doubt. Am I doing enough? Is this the right way forward? These questions have followed me through every decision because I am the one who carries the responsibility.
Iāve learned that people often dwell on what went wrong, fixating on the mistakes of the past instead of turning them into lessons. Iām no different ā my failures stay with me, but I hold them as reminders, not weights.
What Iāve come to accept is this: change is a choice. Growth is a choice. Forgiveness, letting go, or holding on ā theyāre all choices.
Thatās what Judas symbolizes for me. Not just betrayal, but the eternal presence of choice ā between light and dark, right and wrong, self-forgiveness and self-condemnation.
It is always your choice. How you see things, how you respond, and who you become.
You might sense this belief reflected in other series Iāve created:Ā Arete,Ā Sisu,Ā Quark,Ā Livingston,Ā Supernormal, and more.
