Flying fish Exit 2 Rosemary Double IPA braised pork shoulder...these things belong together! #jerseyfreshale #flyingfish #rosemary #ipaallday #craftbeer #foodporn #beerporn
Breakfast for dinner tonight and some Fresh Squeezed IPA from Deschutes to go with it...perfect combo. I will be substituting this IPA for actual juice from now on, it is decided! Cheerrs!
Honeysuckle Rose Belgian Blonde Ale from Blue Earl Brewing in Delaware! This came in my summer beer exchange case and I immediately loved the artwork and the promises of a lightly sweet honeysuckle and floral extravagant rose, but found it to be just an overall decent blonde. Though I enjoyed the hefty 7.2% Belgian delight I would have loved to have experienced more of that rich rose. Definitely want to keep my eye out for more of Blue Earl Brewing. Cheers!
Babeofbrew has been busy busy, between full time at the brewery, getting my butt in gear with the Siebel program, and trying to have a little summer fun I fear I've neglected my duties. But fear not for Summer in its sweet, sweaty, sunny glory has brought the summer beer exchange giving me plenty to report on!! Cheers!

#56 Drinking a stout on the porch in a thunderstorm.
Only half of the the Spring Beer Exchange haul, oh how spring has sprung!
Flying Fish Farmhouse is almost heeere! Look at those gorgeous cans:)
Finally got the chance to get out and visit the crew at Double Nickel and salivate over their delectable brews. It was a fairly slow Tuesday in the tasting room but Greg made me feel right at home and offered a plethora of snacky snacks to boot. I started out with the session IPA which was excellent and super crushy, then onto the Mother Leeds brown ale "witch" again was awesome and I couldn't leave without trying the Marbled Buffalo, their strong rye aged in Buffalo Trace barrrels..yes it tastes even better then it sounds and only available for a short time!! The tasting room itself is spacious yet cozy and would be killer for a party although the location can be tricky to navigate, I drove right past it and had to circle back.
Babeofbrew needed a touch of warmth and magic on this rainy day and Firestone Walker stepped right up with the potion to cures my ails. Pouring an onyx black and tan collar, Velvet Merlin is a smooth and deliciously approachable Oatmeal Stout, richly robust with an espresso bite, cocoa sweetness that finishes dry...there is definitely sorcery afoot!
Fort Point Beer Co.
Graphic design studio Manual has launched a new brand identity for Port Point, a San Francisco based small batch craft beer company that references traditional styles, yet is firmly rooted in the present.
ohhhhh my...the packaging...is beautiful. Someone send Babeofbrew some please:)
I didn't even know this existed. Ballast Point Three Sheets crafted canned cocktails!! Normally I go straight for the beer list but this caught my eye and I'm a huge fan of Ballast Point so I had to. Their Rum & Ginger was so refreshing and had great spicy gingery effervescence that was crisp and cool. Also offered was a Bloody Mary and Rum & Cola. What are your thoughts on canned cocktails?
Gettin’ warm from my head to my toes whilst watching the Golden Globes, with Global Warmer from the mad scientists @ Sixpoint! Shout out to Mr. Oscar Isaac for Show me a Hero, crazy inspiring talent that man possesses!
Forgotten Boardwalk's "What The Butler Saw", Undressed Wit. I checked out the tasting room a few weeks ago and I'd definitely would return for the friendly knowledgeable staff, ski-ball, and good vibin' atmosphere. But this lil guy I was able to pick up at Total Wine in Cherry Hill, as part of a make-your-own six pack. As I've said before "I'm a sucker for packaging", and I love Forgotten Boardwalk's artwork just as much as the magic elixir inside. That scampin' peepin' Butler got an eyeful and as for me...I got a mouthful of bready, citrus zesty satisfaction!
City and Colour @ The Tower in Philly last night! Such a beautiful performance.. heartfelt lyrics, superb voice and crazy awesome lighting.
The last Pliny until my next west coast trip!! What a wonderful 21 days is has been!!! Started out in beautiful Tahoe to reunite with one of my dearest friends, then to visit family in Chico to meet the newest member of the brood, and off to Potter Valley for more family visiting and ended up in sunny Pasadena for a wonderful Thanksgiving feast. Throughout these travels, not only have I drank some killer brews but I have met such kind, generous souls who were more than happy to share a home cooked meal, beautiful bottle(s) of wine, hearty laughter and incredible stories!! I am thankful to have had the opportunity for this trip...its shining moments will stay with me and hopefully will help when my shine feels a bit dim.
Russian River's Temptation Barreled Aged Sour, that I scooped up on my visit to RR! This tarty little sour ale is a perfect pairing for a sunny "winter" afternoon in So. Cal. Hoping that everyone had a blissful beer filled Thanksgiving! cheersy!
