some animal crossing eddiquite when trading!!! there’s no handbook for what/what not to do when trading, but here’s a list of some common decency things to do on others islands!! these come from personal experience.
wait for the island owner at the airport
don’t wander around if they’re not at the airport first thing when you arrive. they might be getting nmt or grabbing your items.
if someone is visiting your island, try to meet them at the airport
ask to visit shops! don’t wander/visit shops without permission. they might have another trade after you. most of the time, they will say yes though.
when you are trading flowers, you will alway go to the island of the person RECIVING the flowers. it saves the hasstle of adding each other, becoming best friends, etc
running around in circles usually means “follow me” “where do i go?” “put the flowers here”. those are lot of examples but you can figure it out with context.
use emotes!!! joy, delight, glee, greetings, and apologetic will be your most used!!
if you see a table set up for trade, try not to go around the table, they set it there for a reason.
usually paymeny comes first. but that’s a personal preference. don’t be afraid to express your preferences with the other trader before hand!!
this is also a preference, but if we’re trading on discord, keep talking to me on discord, typing in animal crossing is kinda difficult!!
use your manners, always say thank you after!
don’t be greedy. it’s just animal crossing. if you wouldn’t pay that price don’t ask for it. no one will give you 5 large star fragments for a pink drink machine.
DONT!!ASK!!!FOR!!!A!!DISCONT!!!ON!!!A!!LARGE!!!ORDER!!! if someone is trading multiple items at once, and you order multiple, don’t ask for a discount. they probably already discounted it before you asked for one.
tip if you feel the need to!! i’ve gotten 1k bell tips before and they’re hella appreciated, trust me.
kindness goes a long way!! remember, it’s just a game!
if you not set a specific price for an item, expect negotiation on the price!
if you get multiple offers on the same item, please inform the other people you have closed the trade, don’t leave them unanswered.
