In the Shadow of Narcissism
In my mother's eyes, I see the pain, Etched deep within, a lifelong stain. Thirty years of loveless strife, A marriage filled with suffering, no end in sight.
It breaks me, to witness her despair, To feel her hurt, her silent prayer. For the day to come, when your time arrives, I'll neglect you, as you did to our lives.
Consumed by narcissism, consumed by greed, Your heart, a void, where love should be. Forty years of friendships, now lost in the haze, Your toxicity driving them away.
You're a sorry excuse for a human being, Leaving behind a trail of broken dreams. But I pray that evil won't have its way, Bringing peace to mom, to me, and all who've had to stay.
May the light of truth shine through the dark, May healing come, leaving its mark. For in the end, love will prevail, And your story, a lesson, a cautionary tale.
So here's to the hope of a better tomorrow, To healing the wounds, easing the sorrow. May peace be found in every heart, And may love conquer all from end to start.
