âI did, itâs different than what youâve seen on tv.â He cringed at his own comment, it made him sound like an active fan when in reality, it was the first time he had managed to pay attention for so long. He enjoyed her smile, quickly realizing the blush on her cheeks wasnât from the lights or the makeup but from the genuine feeling of being happy. Edward was always good at reading people, it came with the lifestyle of being surrounded by people that always wanted something from either him or his family. That wasnât what he was getting from her, quite the opposite in fact. âOh, you donât know that the wildlife preservation fund and the victoriaâs secret fashion show go hand in hand? You learn something new, youâre welcome.â He tacked on with a sip of his drink as they moved through the crowds almost oblivious to him because it was so natural to do. âThe snow one.â He answered easily enough, the name of the segment was lost on him, but it was the one that made him notice her in an instant. His eyes looked for her in every segment after that only to be disappointed until the final walk. âI promise Iâm not being a kiss arse right now, itâs the only one I can remember.â His accent pulled through his words only to be more enunciated when he got more relaxed, honestly, it was the calmest that he had been in months. While the rumors of anti-monarchist had always been around, now it seemed more of an actual need for worry and it made his entire family and the crown more aware of their actions. He knew him being there wouldnât help the matter but at that moment he didnât care and heâd do it again. âHow long have you been doing this? Modeling Imean? How did you get into that?â Having a title meant little choice in what he wanted to do, but he was curious about her and it was clear to his handler that simply talking to one model was better than being noticed in a hotel with three of them. âI hope thatâs not too much to ask.â
âSo you watch on tv huh?â Chloe asked surprising herself by teasing him. People thought she was quiet and shy, which she was until you got to know her. Usually, it took a little while for her to open up to people. He was even more handsome in person which shouldâve made her more nervous around him, but he gave off such a genuine vibe that it was easy to be around him. It was probably why people gravitated towards him so much. She had seen the years of paparazzi shots in the tabloids that showed him with his entourage of people. âOh yeah, that fashion industry is really well known for its wildlife conservation.â She was surprised again by herself. Their conversation flowed so easily she wasnât used to it. It was so rare for her to feel such an instant connection with someone. âSnow Angels,â she informed him. âIt was my favorite too. Maybe one of my all-time favorites.â The show had been a new highlight for her, out of all of her shows it was probably one of her all-time favorites. âHonestly though I say that like every year. Somehow every year I have a new favorite. I donât think youâre being a kiss ass.â Chloe smiled at him softly not one bit offended that he didnât remember any of the other segments of the show. His question surprised her. She didnât think heâd care enough to ask her. âMy mom got me into it. I've been pretty much doing it since I was a kid.â It was a bit of a sore subject for her, but he didnât need to know everything about her rocky relationship with her mother and her love-hate relationship with her career. Honestly, if anyone would understand it would probably be him. Still, they were pretty much strangers even if he had just seen her half naked. âSo are you enjoying the after party as much as you enjoyed the show?â
