someone on tiktok said how bridal gowns/dresses being sth you wear only once in your lifetime shows how much patriarchy controls us. men can just wear a basic suit and wear it to other events and nobody will question it. he can exist independently like that but as soon as a woman is in elaborate gowns and flawless makeup, it is obvious that she would be beside a man. men wearing their wedding suit to someone elses wedding is not considered "stealing attention from the groom" while womens expenisve gowns are expected to be kept in wardrobes and never be worn.

its the way everything is designed against women. makeup, dresses, heels, small purses. they slow you down. men get ready in seconds and walk out while we have the need to put a lip balm even when we go out just outside our house. dresses and heels restrict us. we always need to carry a purse or a bag that have makeup, tissues, comb etc while men can funtion without a bag on them at all times. its the smallest thing designed to make living an everyday life obstacle for us.

i want to know what radical feminists have to say about sex changes in wild animals and developing of the opposite sex. they do it for survival ofc, so why is it impossible for humans to do the same thing? nature is weird, what occurs in one species for a reason doesnt mean it happens in another species for the same reason, especially humans who are intelligent and have developed things that aren't necessarily for survival.

it pisses me off how they change the same old method of controlling women to fit this slightly modern world. fir example in my country, 'chhaupadi' where girls/women are made to live in a tiny dog kennel sized hut outside the house during their periods has turned to them being allowed in the homes but not letting them enter the kitchen/touch utencils and go to religious places. having them cover their faces w 'parda' or covering their head isnt the norm anymore but daughter in laws rush to grab a shawl to pay respect to their father in laws when bowing to them. forcing women to tie/braid their hair isnt the norm so its tie your hair during special ocassions otherwise it brings bag luck. idk if its specific to my community but im sure there are unnoticed things like these in other communities too.

Religion creates unity in people but also sets a you versus me mentality. It isnt a strong path for bonding as people will kick you out of their gods house as soon ass you make one mistake. It makes people only care about their ingroup, your god isnt real mine is, my god promised me this so I am entitled to your property. God doesnt care if I hurt people of other religion for him, its all written in the book

I cant do anything done if it isnt urgent. But my mom who has the same symptoms as me, does them bc of religious principles. Sometimes I wish I was religious so I could be functional for the sake of order, and discipline. But I just cant. She and I both take a whole day to form motivation to shower, but theres some festival or ritual that gives her the push while I have to drag myself like its a death sentense.

This is not a very informed take but i was thinking about how trauma passes through generations. The slaves, the holocaust survivers, the oppressed groups, all pass their pain to their children and children of their children. They're succeptible to some diseases more than other groups. Depression, anxiety, bone diseases, gut issues, autoimmune diseases and more, this is seen in higher number in people who have been discriminated and oppressed. In this all, we forget about women. Women who are the oldest slaves and whose pains can be explained by the history of misogyny and patriarchy. But it offends the men to even study about it. If studied, i bet all these autoimmune diseases, depression, anxiety all can be explained. The pains our grandmothers carried are all in us.

But i also think, if pain and trauma carries through generations, does apathy, cruelty and violence also pass through generations? The oppressing class, do they hold the cruelty their ansestors had in them even today? And now, this sounds extremely bioessencialist but i'm sure something passed on.

Patriarchy is the start of capitalism. In a world with a system where men hoard and control resources, pass it on to only their sons, subjugate women, there is no possibility of communism or socialism. Any attempts to establish a socialist/communist nation fails for that reason. And knowing human nature, sure, they wouldn't last long even in a world not ruled by patriarchy. But it doesnt mean capitalism is working too.

Women have "glass ceiling" in all kinds of fields of work. While, men? Even in female dominated fields, there is "glass escalator" to boost males to achieve success before their female counterparts. We'll just never have a world that's built for us.

If you look around the nature, I don't think intersex, transgender, asexual, nonbinary is any surprising in humans. The nature isn't binary, how do you expect humans, creatures of the nature to be binary? Sure there isn't gender affirming surgeries in nature but surgeries in the definition itself aren't in nature. Human's are different from other beings, so surely the features that dont fit the binary would present in a different way too? Is it really that difficult to grasp?

Its funny how radical feminists are TERF's when the movement itself was about how "gender is a performance". How gender or sex itself isn't purely biological. Their feminism goes around in a circle and uses the same logic that misogynists use to define a woman.

Just learnt today that women were ashamed of drying their underwears outside. They were shamed by people around them. While men were free to flail and dry theirs outside. A culture where the daughter in law still are expected to wash her father in laws underwear. It's taken as something abnormal if you deny. I myself feel ashamed when i go to dry my under garments. Nobody had ever said anything about it to me, unlike my mother who was told off by her mother in law, bullied by friends. I didn't realise the shame is built in me. The shame my mother carried, her mother and the same woman who tormented her, herself carried. Our bodies are treated as if its something taboo, everything about it and related to it is shamed, sexualized, as if its inherently dirty to hold this body.

i dont want to be an adult. i want to live with my parents no matter how much i hate them sometimes. i dont want my brother to go abroad to a so called 1st world country to study. i want to eat the food my mom cooks and sit in the silence when dad wants to say sth. idc. i hate capitalism. i hate individualism. i hate what the western world has done to the whole world. i hate how we lost communities and now cant even have families bc of the sickening greed of the west. why cant we live in a house w lots of fruit and veggie plants, with neighbors and no worries of how to put food on our table.
