I'm a 52 year old Aussie chick who's obsessed with cars, drawing and writing. so if you don't want all kinds of classic cars cluttering your dash, you're going to get real tired of me. I listen to a ton of rockabilly music but also like other genres (pretty much anything except the current garbage being played most of the time).  Writer, half-decent sketcher and obsessive writer of fiction, I'm predominantly positive, mostly harmless.

My friend initially commissioned this artist to draw Jukebox (I can't believe my friend seems unable to explain the interaction patterns between the two characters in Jukebox [?]. They said they sent my character analysis post about Mike before they sent some descriptions of Jukebox plots and personalities to that artist. I was like: Huh? WHAT? ), and I thought the art style and quality were great, so I also went and bought the commission!

The artist's slot was for Chibi-style characters, but our MC characters are from Western cartoons!! My friend and I were surprised by the proportions of Chibi characters. I expressed my shock to the artist, who explained that they elongates the proportions when drawing Chibi-style characters, while the original art style of the characters we gave them suits it better. My friend and I were like: Huh?! AH?!

I made some weird little watercolor and gouache paintings for a sci-fi-themed exhibition. I was miles out of my comfort zone and some of my paintings were Quite Bad but I had fun

Lead residue from bullet fused into bone.

In movies and comics and stories, when someone survives being shot, they just remove the bullet and that's all.

In real life situations, as the bullet leaves the barrel of the gun and travels through the air, the metal gets extremely hot.

When it comes into contact with a hard surface like bone, it's like dragging a piece of chalk across the pavement. It leaves a metal residue that gets fused to the bone itself.

The gray part on the photo is the lead residue from a bullet. It only grazed the bone here, but still left behind residue.

Over a period of years the lead can slowly start to leach out from the bone causing lead poisoning.

Long-term lead poisoning is something that's not often talked about with gunshot wounds, but this is how it happens. Even if you remove the bullet fragments, its not enough, because you can't remove the residue.

You can't remove the lead residue but you can give medications to lessen the impact of lead on the body.

I almost never see this mentioned in stories except for medical dramas. But honestly it would be great to see this touched on more.

Because.....well....there's all these badass characters in fiction who survived being shot multiple times and they're just portrayed as tough and battle-hardened. But among themes of survival, the lasting impact of these types of injuries is rarely explored.

This is the most technically proficient pottery throwing I've ever seen. The economy of motion? Literally everything in one pull, one squeeze. Absolutely no even minor touch ups required. This shit is like watching a skilled magician even as someone who knows how to throw on the wheel. I am watching this the way that someone who is great at a few card tricks watches Penn and Teller.
