“Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.” ― Louis de Bernières, Corelli's Mandolin

Robert Longo’s charcoal drawings resist traditional expectations of medium. His process often begins with a photographic image found online, which he will amplify, re-compose, or juxtapose with other images before translating into charcoal. In layers of fragile black dust, Longo builds remarkably sculptural, meticulously detailed forms at an imposing scale unusual for drawing.
The striking finished artwork is a meditation on how we digest images—and what they tell us about the world—using technical innovation to emphasize their power and complexity.

He tied up her mind, just like he tied her to the bed… And fucked them both without mercy…

No matter how many times you try, it’s difficult to stay positive, even around the people you love. It’s even harder to believe the good things others say about you to you when you’re treating yourself like sh*t. The only people we can believe during these bouts of sadness and heartache are those who are also withering the storm. So if it’s difficult for you to get through your day or even shower or get out of bed, we want you to know that you’re not alone. Please read these quotes, they will make you a better person than you were even two minutes ago. *Check back every Saturday for new quotes.
