danielle & lo travel from badass brooklyn animal rescue to a shelter in florence, alabama pick up 11 dogs and bring them back for adoption. follow their trip here. About BBAR: Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue is composed of a network of fosters and volunteers that work together to rescue sweet, loving, adoptable dogs from high kill, rural shelters in the south. We then bring those pups up north to be adopted out in NYC.

Yesterday was to crazy to blog! Arrived in Brooklyn minutes before our adoption event. So many dogs were adopted!! Forever homes today went to: Judge, George Clooney, Vince Vaughn, Molly, Beverly Johnson, Joy Anna, Linlee, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Bradley, Brooklyn, Roslyn, Scout, Colin Firth, Watson and Tara. Rocky and Werner are being fostered-to-adopt. Can't believe we still have Giona, Penny and Dexter - these are the 2 we had the MOST apps for heading into the event. Guess you never know! 4 more hours to go. Feels like a marathon! Drove all night through 12 hours of whimpering, peeing, puking, puppy scampering, driving and of course, snacking. Birmingham!

Spent the entire day fliering B'ham - we need fosters in Alabama so we rescue more dogs. Met some great people at BJC Animal Control, Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Rub-a-Dub Dog and Jane from Black and White magazine. Good day!

Lil Merle was hanging out at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society when we visited today. We wanted to sneak her out but we know she will get adopted here in Birmingham!

Guess who's coming back from Alabama with us? John Lennon here. Isn't he DELIGHTFUL. He's a pekinese/dachshund mix and rumor has it he might already have a momma lined up (one of our rescue volunteers)!

Nashville to Alabama

Heading to Alabama tomorrow to drum up some interest in Badass and the Florence Lauderdale Shelter. We really need more foster homes in Alabama so more dogs can be rescued. We also scored a meeting with a lovely dog lover from Birmingham News. Wish us luck!
